You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Global warming

I was glad to see this pop up.. There is so much crap written about! All of this.. There are reports of what the temp was in 1100 AD and what it was in 400 BC. They talk of the c02 levels. They talk about the increased heat.

Hey if we did not have co2 how would the trees grow..

Just some things to think about.. the major green house gas is water vapor.. not co2.

The oceans will raise and we will be flooded!! Yes I have read this!!! If you have a big glass of Ice Tea full of Ice cubes. When your Ice melts does your glass run over..????

How about heat islands.!!! Yes they are real.. Atlanta and most all citys have a heat island to some extent.. Atlanta has a 2 week longer growing period, than the surrounding country..
Is the World getting warmer.. Yes! by measurement!!

I will write more on this soon.. but just think of it this way.. 1 Gallon of gasoline will heat a pretty big house in the winter for 24 hrs.

How much heat is given off for every ton of steel processed for the auto industry..

Your airconditioner may cool the inside of the house. but it heats the outside..
I have read more crap about greenhouse gasses that was written by a study group trying to impress the dumb government in hopes of getting millions of dollars for more studys..
BP, Exon, and others advertise on TV that they are looking for alternate fuels.. Don't give me that crap, three or four weeks ago I spent 2000 miles and 4 days on E85 gas.. and found that big oil had pretty well already had the cap on it..

If we want to correct global warming then turn down the flame..

Don't kid yourself. We very well know what it will take. But no one will step up and do it.

As I stated elsewhere (God knows where) energy should come from reversible reactions, not burning something in the atmosphere. NOBODY is looking or wants to look for these plentiful, cheap, inexhaustible sources. I think its the money invested in the status quo.

Well i dont want this topic to spark up on a whos to blame and whos not doing anything...

And yes, the melting of the Ice will cause a surge of fresh water up the gulf stream, and where it moves and drops down it could be overflown with fresh water and stop completely causing a massive cooling of Europe (okay sounds like not put together, i forget the rest)

but increased "greenhouse gasses" cause the heat and radiation from the sun to go through the atmosphere and not come back out, like Co^2. This C02 levels have surpassed a natural state, we rely on Fossil fuels which burn and have a byproduct of Co^2 not just cars, but plastics, metals, heating, electricity, coal burning, all the processes of modern time on an industrialized scale usually use some form of Co^2 producing product.

But I remember when I was little, The winters in PA would hit around early october, that was jacket weather, and around halloween usually you wore a winter coat, mid november it was snowing sometimes and the frost would ice over windows in the morning and december some windchills would hit around -15 and the snow could last 2 more months...

Now I feel like the spring hasnt ended, the dead leaves are still saturated because of the warm wet weather, the morning ice has turned to the morning fog. For halloween night I went out with some friends to an outdoor haunted house and wore a T-Shirt, its November 17 (well last light was really its 4AM on the 18th) and I wore a T-shirt overshirt and a pair of shorts with no problems... It feels like it will rain a warm rain on christmas, i doubt it will snow soon, it still seems like a white skied spring

oh and the Exiled Nuclear Fusion is now being greatly re-considered as a power source for the world

Well due to the whole Nuclear Weapons thing, and other things having to Radiation Nuclear tech has bascially been thought of as unsafe.... not officially but many think it, the US and many other countries have Nuculear Power Plants, of course, its not completely gone but Nuclear Fusion as a solid resource to power Large Cities and all has really been refined to a very well done process, ever hear of the experiment done (I forget what I think new type of Fusion) Where they used 5 US Dollars worth of energy to set off a controlled fusion process that could power the ENTIRE WORLDS ENERGY OUTPUT For about 2 seconds? the ENTIRE WORLD! Even though its just 2 seconds, think of all that energy, and multiple stations? Why isnt it being used? Because it hasnt been refined and really well controlled *An accident could happen with either lots of death or destruction or both*

What I meant was that Cold Fusion was getting a second look because of this whole "Crisis" and some who lets just say didnt like it are looking to it as a solid power resource

Thanks for the explanation. I have read that cold fusion really has been proven in spite of the bad press resulting from the first announcement.

I read a lot, but haven't seen anything saying that Tokamak is really
operational except for tests, which is the one I think you referred to.

No question that hydrogen fusion would be the answer.

But there is also Zero-point energy, which has been demonstrated and the govs of Japan and India are spending millions on developing. In the US, forget it, the oil companies own it (the US I mean.)

This is typical of hunting for something to write about, and some one has tried very hard to make this into something of importance.. What we see of the jet vapor trails is just that "Water Vapor" Those Jets are way up in the very cold air (temp drops about 5.5 degrees for every 1000 feet of elevantion.... 70 degrees on the ground 1000 feet up 64.5 , so at 30,000 feet is is cold..

yea im 95% sure it was hydrogen fusion that produced that mass amount of energy and yea Im 95% sure thats the second look and Cold Fusion is being used as an example of an almost inexhaustible resource

And its Heavy water they use? They use the water for some part of Hydrogen Fusion I think, and they say its found abundently in Sea Water, and that the end energy output of a gallon of Sea Water thanks to Hydrogen Fusion is 30 times that of gasoline

So heres the layout (theese are the stats for something might not be hydrogen fusion)

One Gallon Of Seawater = Thirty Gallons Of Gasolines' Energy Output

After The Fusion process of course

Thanks Pookey. There is a process using ammonia and chlorine and sodium hydroxide which recycles the chlorine, and leaves a waste product of
salt water. According to the Chem books and equations, the yield per pound is the same as gasoline withing a few percentaqe points. I know how to build a car using this to generate steam to run an off the shelf turbine, but it would take probably 100 to 250 thousand to build one. Everything is already produced, all the equipment is practically off the shelf. It will never happen.

Do you know where im getting the whole Heavy Water from?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heavy_Water

i believe its associated with Tritium, Which is used in the Cold Fusion or Hydrogen Fusion process? And Thats found in Sea Water or something??

If I can remember from 53 years ago, Heavy hydrogen has 2 neutrons instead of one. Heavy water has the heavy hydrogen instead of the normal hydrogen. In WWII Norway had a heavy water plant the Nazis were using to work on their nuclear program (Yes they had one). The Allies I believe managed to disable it. The heavy hydrogen is called Deuterium, and with three neutrons is still heavier, called Tritium. The water formula is still H2O.

The edits aren't posting, 3rd one in the last few hours that wouldn't.
the hydrogen with 2 neutrons is called Deuterium. Hydrogen with three neutrons is called Tritium. The water is always H2O, but with the different weights of hydrogen.Well it did. Cant delete the 2nd one.

remember the days when the bad gases came from hair spray, and the freon we used in the car air conditioner..??? we got rid of those, and now use a solar radiation block all over out body when we go into the sun..?? Do you remember when ozone was a good thing?? The smell of ozone during the summer thunder storm??

Now we have nothing but co2 as the big problem... Do you say that we have a layer of co2 in the troposphere that passes the Insolation (In Coming Solar Radiation) but blocks or reflects the released radiation from the earth?? Are we looking at co2 as being lighter than our atmosphere at earth level.. ( at earth surface the air is mostly nitrogen) .

Smog, that California has fought for years that hovers over the populace on good days, and on bad days you stay inside.. It is mostly what??? Coming from cars and trucks..

Yes we have reflective layers in the upper atmosphere, but they do not do nearly as much as they are given bad credit for.. Much less effect on Insolation and Radiation.. (Short waves and long waves)

Back in my days of amateur radio,, we would call around the world on very low powered radios simply because at night the F layer was conducive to reflecting the radio signal.. but in the daytime it gave no reflection.

Yes things are changing... I remember as a kid in central Illinois, the Wabash river would freeze over and we skated on it some winters.. A two foot snow was common, and snow fences did not do that much good.
As big brother I had to walk in front to break the way through the snow so little brother and sister could make it through the 2 miles to the one room school house.. Snow days from school, No such thing.. Power being off from fallen limbs.. We had the same power as any other day,,, the wood stove and the kerosene lamp..
Yes it is getting warmer.. THE BIGGEST WORRY IS LACK OF WATER.

    RE: lack of water!

The "water stress index" puts the minimum level of water to maintain an adequate quality of life in a moderately developed country at 2740 litres per capita. Below this level a country is said to have "chronic water scarcity". In 2000 3.7% of the global population experienced this, forecasts put this at 8.6% in 2025 and 17.8% in 2050. Since it's unreasonable to assume all the worlds wells will run dry (due to the water cycle) what we really need is better water management, pricing, and import substitution.

I agree but if you think gas is expensive just wait until corporations get their hands on our water. Actually we can live without gas, but not without water.

In the UK all the water companies are private companies. Now I'm no communist but surely the whole point of private companies is to make money for share holders. They do this by charging everyone more every year for using less water (they ration it in times of drought). It's a big con; there's this big reservoir where I went fishing a week after it was on the news looking nearly empty, but when I was there it was almost full. I asked the Water Baliff what was going on and he told me they empty out every now and again for news stories on the drought in South East England!
