I gave you the dictionary definition of faith and showed you to be wrong. Just to run it by you again:

Faith is defined as confidence or trust in a being, object, living organism, deity, view, or in the doctrines or teachings of a religion, when no scientific, plausible, testable, demonstrable evidence whatsoever is used in a supportive capacity.

I also gave you the criteria for what constitutes as evidence:

A mathematical model explaining the reaction, or the application of rational logic while drawing upon established physical laws. Documentation of the results of a physical experiment from which the conclusions were drawn. Description of the experimental conditions and methodology applied. Repeatability of the experiment.

I don't reject evidence. Evidence is evidence whether it supports or discredits a position I hold. If new evidence comes along and shows me to be wrong, I change my position, I don't ignore the evidence.

The things I accept to be correct are based on evidence. Not faith.
The things I accept to be correct have tangible real world applications, from CT scans to GPS, thus the underlying scientific principles require no faith.

 

Being an atheist requires no knowledge of science. It's simply a lack of belief.

Conversely being a Christian is a bit like wearing a badge of stupidity. Just because they are Christian doesn't mean they are dumb, it just makes them look more dumb than they actually are. They also probably haven't put a lot of thought into it either. Most Christians haven't tried other religions like Islam or Scientology, or even considered the possibility that they could be wrong. Instead they just go with what their parents told them.

 

Your definition of Faith is faulty.

It is- 1: complete trust or confidence in someone or something.
and - 2: strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof.

You just added all that extra stuff to it.

I think all are equaliy as bad, although Islam is with no doubt the worst.

I'm not "anti" any religion. I'm just offended by people that can't tell the difference between a person that accepts a position based on evidence, and that of a person that accepts a position based entirely on faith. It's completely retarded to call them equal.

 

I think about it all the time, and I have no idea. I am open minded though, but what does God have to do with the meaning of life? I think God is just an easy way out of not thinking for yourself. I personally believe their is no meaning in life other than reproduce and continue with the species, but thats just my opinion.

What a coincidence, because according to the bible... That's exactly what humans where made to do. What you know of as "sin", isn't a book of do's and don'ts... Sin is everything that gets in the way doing just that: reproducing and continuing the species.

I don't know where the physical laws originate, do you ? I have no problem admitting when I don't know something. I know that Quantum mechanics allows for our universe to be brought into existence with our physical laws, from absolutely nothing. By nothing I mean no space, no energy, and no laws. It also allows for other parallel universes to be created with different laws. I'm not saying I know. I'm just saying what is theoretically and mathematically possible.

Maybe you could tell me where your god came from ?
