It was a lazy day.

This morning I went to wash clothes then stopped to pick up groceries.

No meetup event tonight. I will hosting a watch party tomorrow.

It's been good - did my errands, including my grocery store run, got back and settled into only a couple of movies (because the first was really long):

Second viewing, after a long time, of The Patriot, Roland Emmerich's outstanding story of a man (Mel Gibson) and his family rising to meet the challenge of the Revolutionary War. It's Inspiring, gut-wrenching, tragic and joyous. Exellent turns by Gibson and Heath Ledger. Although it's fiction, it truly shows the struggle and the ground roots birth of the greatest nation the world has ever known.

We just need to keep it.


Then I watched Guy Ritchies' Snatch for I think the second time. It is no 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' but it's fun. Its basically a bunch of horrible assholes fighting and killing each other for several reasons. Not always logical, but always entertaining.



A great Saturday!

 

I ran a 5K in the morning, and danced in a ballroom show in the evening.

Headed to meetup watch party before 2 pm and just got back within the hour. Beforehand I stopped by UPS store. Event was great and Chiefs won 28 to 18. Got to meet a bunch of people since I hosted.

Chatted with moderator of group and looking to possible a party band in town next month.

It's been a great Sunday. No errands and no real chores. I took a very nice nap and watched movies.

I had a first viewing of Aces High (which I'm surprised I had never even heard of), the 1976 film about British pilots in WWI France, starring Malcom McDowell and Christopher Plummer. Fabulous aerial footage, but it's ulitimately a sad reflection on throwing away young lives for war. Well done.


Next up was a 2nd viewing of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. I hadn't thought all that much of it when I first watched it, but it's quite engaging, even though the 'whimsy' element is much higher than previous entries in the franchise. It was quite exciting and enjoyable, with a 'good enough' ending sequence. It had been so long that the reunion of Marion and Indy was nice, but not felt very deeply.


Then, an odd little film: 'Banshee' starring super hot Taryn Manning as an expert car thief and all around badass, who steals a car belonging to a psycho killer - mayhem ensues. It really centers on Manning's story - as much a character portriat as a mystery/thriller, but overall, was very entertaining, although all the clues seem to come very easily, and some logistics don't stand scrutiny. I had a good time.


All told, a nice cinema Sunday.

Best day of my life
.....since yesterday

 

I was unwell all weekend. I did absolutely nothing. I called in sick today but if I’m feeling any better I’ll go into work later today.

 

I've had a long 12 hour shift at work but apart from Saturday and Sunday this week I've basically got just over 2 weeks off.
Maybe that's why it was so long? Waiting for my time off lol

 

It was a slow day.

Handled calls till noon and the last hour of the day . I’ve had a sore throat that has been persistent.

Busy for me now laying in bed naked and horny.

 

It was a normal day at work with not much to write home about.

Headed to Gsmedtop to pick up game that came out.

Got a call from meetup member about event happening at night club in town. He invited me and I will be leaving in. 45 min.

 

It was very much up and down. I got rained on and I was late for work but the breakfast event I planned at work went great and I got lots of compliments. Then I got a perfect eval but had to stay late and got rained on again walking the dog.

I came home and didn’t know what to eat so ended up making a grilled cheese sandwich at 9 o’clock. Then I stayed up way too late.

Today I’m off work early for a doctor’s appt I’m dreading.
