One expression that drives me crazy is "ready for sex". Hell I was ready for sex at 13. No fucking problem baby. Both physically and mentally. When I was 14 one of my best friends got fucking married and his 14 YO child bride had a baby before she turned 15. Seemed like a stupid thing to me at the time. But you know what? They are happy grandparents now of a large loving clan. He had a hard life for a while, but for them it worked out.
Most 13 YO's are "ready for sex". The problem is that 13 YO's are not ready to make informed intelligent decisions about sex. The laws prevent older controlling adults from using their position of authority to take advantage of someone much younger. And that’s a good thing.
But I just got to say after having 3 wives and living with several other women. If you are looking for a happy adventuress sex life, never pick a women who kept her virginity until she was 18 or worst married. They suck in bed. I’ve decided that some things wrong with your sex drive if you could hold off that long.
I can also say from experience, stay away from the girl who was fucked by daddy. Shes got issues that very few men can deal with.

I think it's fine as long as they are both of relatively young age. For example a 16yr old guy and 13 yr old girl should not end with the 16yr old in a detention center for rape. Same with like 15 and 19. Now I would completely support capital punishment for a 40 yr old who gets with a 12 yr old.

 

I moved to utah a couple years ago and the mormons are quite a group of people. Although I hate to stereotype they are the most sexually active, sexually frustrated, politically conservative, dishonest, judgemental, and dellusional group of people i've ever came in contact with.

The only upside is that aside from a few prudish chicks most of them are complete whores so as long as you are wealthy or attractive or both you can pull massive amounts of mormon poon.

 

Reading what you said, I find myself agreeing with you. The problem is that all these kids experiment and way too many of them end up pregnant or with std's. Most of these kids struggle to live above the poverty line while taking care of their baby. It sort of "breeds" poverty. These teenagers most of the time don't finish high school or at the most get their ged. You can't do too much with a ged only these days. Plus babies are extremely expensive, so that doesn't help either. Then there is the problem of stds. A lot of the teenagers out there experimenting, get an std and don't even know it. They then spread it to five other people before they find out they have it. I know some horrible guys and girls that even though they know they have an std, still choose to have sex. They are that desperate for the physical gratification and don't care who they affect. I'm not sure what the solution is to all this. I have to agree with you that part of growing up is actually experiencing these things. I would hate to have waited until marriage to have sex. Most people don't want to have sex with only one person their entire life so this leads to cheating. Plus the awkwardness of being horrible in bed. I'm saying yes I think people should get this sexual experimentation out of their systems especially before settling down, but the prime time to do that is during the teen years. Way too many teenagers aren't responsible enough or "ready" enough as I have said, to think to use birth control and to be ready for a baby or to get themselves tested. I still support a test of some kind to find out the cognitive ability, as well as readiness of an individual for sex. The test wouldn't have to be linked to law, but could serve as a warning to parents to crack down on those teenagers who aren't ready.

I agree with almost all of this completely but I think the easy solution would be proper sex education. In my home state we have nothing. I learned sex ed from watching copious amounts of porn. Rather than telling kids not to do it or it's not allowed we should prepare them with the proper knowledge about safe sex and help them avoid stds or unwanted pregnancies.

I was lucky, I was smart enough to use a condom and be careful but a lot of my classmates weren't so lucky. I'd speculate roughly 80% of them have stds now and already about 40% of them have kids or had to have an abortion and they are no where near ready to support a child financially. I graduated in 2006 and our class was small (around 50) so I know how everything has fallen out for them even though I moved away.

I know there's less chance that it will happen with the 18 year age limit.

A 12 year old has quicker reflexes than an 80 year old, yet the 12 year old is not allowed to drive a car (on public roads), or hold a license. They are also not allowed to join the military (but their energy levels and stamina would be far better than most 30 year olds). Why is that? Because their judgment hasn't matured enough?

It's not the morality of the laws, as much as the mortality of the people who are getting pregnant at such a young age. Since raising the age of consent to sixteen, people are not dying so young. Of course, I know that you will answer that this has to do with advances in medical science, and that of course has to factor in somewhere. But, even today, if a woman continually gets pregnant without her body being able to rest, she will at the very least, be susceptible to (among other things) brittle bones in later life. If you now imagine that it would be acceptable for a female to start having babies from twelve or thirteen, they would (theoretically) be physically able to have children every year until they reach their fifties. That is alway supposing they haven't had their insides literally ripped apart from having babies when their body isn't mature enough. (and by that use of "mature" I am talking physically mature, not mentally or emotionally).
But now I will talk about mental maturity. The reason why 12 year olds are not able to vote is because they are more likely to vote the way of their parents/guardians/older and more authoritarian figure in their life. Why would it be less of a coercian by an older person to have sex with that child than it would be to get them to vote a certain way?

There are many sects such as the Amish Mormons and German Baptist that have there young 13 year old daughters having sex and even being married . Mormon children are offered sex at 11-13 years of age . This is not public knowledge , Family knowledge and Church knowledge .

Incest is rampant in all of these Faiths and I am sure also as Catholics , Baptists , and many others . We have all seen that the Catholic Priests are involved in underage sex and alot of it is kept secret .

Many Families perform incest and when something goes wrong it becomes DOMESTIC VIOLENCE , protection for women and children . Men become the minorities in these situations . A women can even scream RAPE and Molestation !

In Las Vegas, NV the age of consent is 16yo, but in Columbia, South America the age of consent is 14yo, which means that it is not the person who breaks the law, but the country who dicates whether he does or not.

Now before all of you, who I love very much, start screaming at me; allow me to remind you who I am. I'm currently dating a WOMAN who is 32yo here in Guatemala, Central America, and being a guy; I recently went out, behind her back, with a Gallo model who turned out to be 21yo, who I, 37yo right now, found too young to even deal with. What I'm trying to say is this people, who do not fancy kids, do not deal with kids, they deal with people their own age, like me. Peace. Out.

 

Also a good point. I recently wrote an argumentative paper in which I supported sex education in schools. I also think of the way people act in the heat of the moment. Especially teenagers. It seems like all common sense goes out the window. I say this from experience and from stories from my friends. I do believe sex education could help tremendously though. It still hasn't been perfected. In my school I know there was alot of stuff that I felt was left out of the syllabus.
