This is a great I could see some 20somthing guy knocking on my door asking to date my 14 year old daughter that is why I support the 2nd amendment. However I think age of consent laws should be different like 2 to 3 years shouldn't be a prison sentence. Age difference not the girls age

 

Im not sure about 13+ being open game to any age.. my biggest problem with this is that they are JUST starting to have the "feelings" and to be exploited at that point could cause some very serious psychological problems down the road. This isnt just an opinion on my part as there are studies to prove that girls who become sexually active at a very young age are far more likely to develop problems later in life

 

I live in Britain and recently (late last year or so) 5-6 year olds were being taught about sex. I personally think so long as both parties understand the consequences of their actions, which most kids do nowadays at about 12 or lower, and are both consenting, it should be legal.
Hell, most of my Scouts (I'm a Cub Scout leader) know more about sex than me, and most of them are 10-11.

A teen should have their brain scanned to see if they are mature enough to understand the draw back. if they can't then the have to wait until they can or age 18.

Like I've told my daughters, just because your body is mature enough to have sex doesn't mean that your mind can handle the results. An adult (I'm referring to people over 21) has no business having sex with a 12 or 13 year old. It's a situation of power and control. How is a child supposed to be on equal footing in a relationship like that?

Don't you get it? Some 14 year old girls, perfectly normal, can be emotionally scarred for life if they were to fuck at that age. Some no problem, some big problem. 18 years limit age, good law.

 

I'm not saying it should be dropped so low but 18 is a little high, maybe 16. A lot of people are going to jail for getting with a 16 year old, even 17 year olds getting with 16 year olds are going to jail. It gets pretty crazy and ridiculous.
As for parents choosing that is a big mistake, there are moms and dads trying to sell their kids to people just to make a quick buck for their addictions or just for money.
My husband and I talk about this every once in awhile, we feel as if they should give a test to a kid and see their maturity level if they get caught with someone. Most girls now a days are maturing quicker than they used to, they also are finding out about sex at a younger age. Matter of fact, my cousin (girl) school busted a bunch of kids (elementary) giving oral in the bathrooms and things of that nature. That's young and most were around 9-12 years old or close to it, I think it was. I'm not saying it should be that low because it shouldn't. But by 16 they should know what they need to or at least the most important things about sex that keep them safe and understand it.
In my opinion 16 should be the legal age, especially being in most states a 16 year old can get married as long as their parents sign a paper saying its ok and that they don't legally own their child no more and is ok with it.

I agree with you to a point. It is very sad to see someone needlessly penalized for having consensual sex with a boy/girlfriend when they are just a couple of years apart. But on the other hand, how many times do they need to be told?? They are too old to have sex with someone who is not yet at the age of consent. It is ILLEGAL! It doesn't take a genius to figure it out. There are a lot of things that are outlawed that I disagree with but I obey the laws because I like my freedom. The same logic and reason should follow for anyone considering having sex with a minor.

So perhaps my first post wasn't entirely correct.

 

Perhaps in that parallel universe where the plots to XXX films originate that's a fairly workable idea, in this particular reality, not so much.
