There is a pretty good indication the treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans gunning for Gaetz are getting some help like the fix is already in.

House GOPers gunning for Gaetz as ethics probe expands to 'broader range' of violations

Rep. Matt Gaetz's (R-FL) role as the ringleader behind the ouster of former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has created enduring resentment among more than a few of the Florida Republican's House colleagues who have grown weary of his grandstanding ways.

According to a report from the Daily Beast's Sam Brodey, Gaetz's unpopularity among Republicans he serves with in the House has grown with one Republican telling the Beast, "There aren’t a lot of people who, you know, are gonna go out of their way to defend Matt Gaetz. I mean, he’s a pretty diabolical character.”

Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE), who admitted Gaetz has almost been involved in two physical fights with colleagues, added, "The anger is pretty well with him. I just think there will be long memories because he did serious damage to our House conference.”

One person who appears to be working behind the scenes against Gaetz is McCarthy, whom Brodey described as stalking "...the halls like a ghost determined to avenge his own murder. In interviews, McCarthy has kept alive the idea that Gaetz and his allies deserve punishment, warning gravely that the party won’t heal 'if there’s no consequences for the actions.'"

ALSO READ: These 10 legislators have also broken a federal disclosure law, just like George Santos

McCarthy recently mentioned during a Fox News interview that Gaetz is still being scrutinized by the Ethics Committee, telling Maria Bartiromo, "Once that Ethics complaint comes forward, he could have the same problem as Santos and I think the conference would probably be better united to move forward and get this all done.”

As the Beast's Brodey notes, McCarthy may have a point, reporting that "Ethics is looking into a much broader range of potential violations, many of which could be deeply embarrassing and reputation-harming for Gaetz—including an allegation that he showed inappropriate sexual content to colleagues on the House floor."

The report also notes that, while Gaetz represents a solidly Republican district, voters appear to be getting tired of his act too.

"A new poll from Florida Atlantic University found that, statewide, Gaetz only had a 21 percent approval rating, with 57 percent of voters disapproving of him. Notably, Gaetz was polarizing even in his own party, breaking almost exactly even among GOP voters," Brodey reported.

'Given my experience': Gaetz waiting to 'render judgment' on GOP Chair accused of rape

U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz is urging his fellow Florida Republicans to wait to "render judgment" on Christian Ziegler, the Trump-endorsed state Republican Party chairman accused of rape by a woman he and his wife allegedly had a consensual sexual relationship with.

“Given my experience I tend to wait for the facts to come out before rendering judgment,” Gaetz told Florida Politics. The far-right Florida GOP lawmaker has faced both DOJ and House Ethics Committee investigations into a variety of possible crimes, among them, alleged sex trafficking, alleged sex with an under-aged girl, illicit drug use, and public corruption.

Sarasota police are reportedly investigating Florida GOP chair Christian Ziegler after a woman he has known for two decades accused him of rape. Christian's wife, Bridget Ziegler, told police she and her husband had a consensual sexual encounter with the woman who is now his accuser.

READ MORE: The Christian Ziegler/Moms for Liberty Scandal Could Hurt Ron DeSantis

“Christian Ziegler is also alleged to have secretly videotaped the sexual encounters between the couple and the woman, sources said,” the nonpartisan Florida Center for Government Accountability reported last week.

Bridget Ziegler is an elected member of the Sarasota County School Board and a co-founder of Moms for Liberty, which is a Southern Poverty Law Center-designated extremist group that opposes LGBTQ equality and has pushed for book bans. "Although Bridget Ziegler has officially left Moms for Liberty, she also still has ties to the group, having been a featured speaker at their national summit. She also helped develop DeSantis’ 'Don’t Say Gay' bill that Moms for Liberty publicly advocated in favor of," the SPLC noted in its report on the group.

"A search warrant shows Sarasota Police have footage of Ziegler showing up at the accuser’s apartment, where she told police he came in and forced her to have sex with him," Florida Politics reports. "Christian Ziegler to date has rebuffed calls for his resignation, including by Florida Republican leaders including Gov. Ron DeSantis, Florida Senate President Kathleen Passidomo and Florida House Speaker Paul Renner."

Christian Ziegler on Saturday sent an email to Florida Republican Party members refusing to resign. “We have a country to save and I am not going to let false allegations of a crime put that mission on the bench as I wait for this process to wrap up,” he wrote, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

On Thursday, Moms for Liberty posted then removed a statement supporting its co-founder, Bridget Ziegler. It later reposted the statement.

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, "Moms for Liberty and its nationwide chapters combat what they consider the 'woke indoctrination' of children by advocating for book bans in school libraries and endorsing candidates for public office that align with the group's views. They also use their multiple social media platforms to target teachers and school officials, advocate for the abolition of the Department of Education, advance a conspiracy propaganda, and spread hateful imagery and rhetoric against the LGBTQ community."

The DOJ reportedly told Gaetz's attorneys earlier this year he would not be prosecuted, but the House Ethics Committee reopened its investigation. Gaetz has denied all accusations.

'You kicked McCarthy out': CNN host busts Matt Gaetz after he laments GOP's tiny majority

The man responsible for the ouster of Kevin McCarthy as speaker of the House of Representatives has no plans right now to pull the same trick with Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA).

In an interview with CNN's Abby Phillip hours after the House of Representatives voted by a margin of 314 to 108 and the Senate passed by a margin of 77 to 18 to keep the government open through March, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) said there is take-the-good-with-the-bad stance.

The House Freedom Caucus, of which Gaetz is a vocal member, announced it “strongly opposes” the bill.

During the interview, Gaetz was pressed about whether he and others who sought to remove former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy after he worked with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to reach a similar bill would apply the same criteria when it comes to Speaker Johnson.

"Well, it's not exactly the same," Gaetz said. "You see, the Johnson deal claws back $20 billion of the $50 billion inside deals that Kevin McCarthy lied to us about.

That said, Gaetz doesn't necessarily consider Johnson absolved from hashing out a deal with the Dems.

"I wish that Johnson would have gotten us more clawed back from the McCarthy side deals and it certainly was a disappointment that he didn't," he said.

For Gaetz, the suspected back office dealings of McCarthy warranted his unceremonious removal.

Also, the math has changed since McCarthy retired and criminally charged Rep. George Santos (R-NY) was expelled out of office.

"It's hard to judge Johnson by the same standard as McCarthy because he doesn't have the same majority McCarthy had, in part because McCarthy left," said Gaetz.

Phillip interjected: "You kicked McCarthy out of his job. You forgot that part."

But Gaetz said it was that McCarthy couldn't be trusted and with Johnson, the promises are being kept.

"Again, as I said, it wasn't one thing with McCarthy, it was an accumulation of misrepresentations, lies in the sense that we were being sold out time and again in these negotiations," he said. "With Johnson, he has been very clear up front when he has a one-seat majority having to balance the needs of a diverse caucus, trying to get us into a fighting posture. It is my hope, it is my expectation that we get into that fighting posture before taking the third strike of a third continuing resolution in a conversation with the Speaker."

House ethics probe into Rep. Matt Gaetz picks up steam with new witnesses contacted: Sources

The reopened House ethics probe into Rep. leaving the page." data-wf-tooltip-position="bottom">Matt Gaetz continues to ramp up, as the committee in recent weeks has contacted multiple new witnesses as part of its ongoing investigation into the Florida congressman, sources tell ABC News.

In recent days, the Republican-led House Ethics Committee has reached out to multiple new witnesses, expanding its contact with individuals who have ties to the initial Justice Department investigation into Gaetz, said sources, who told ABC News that committee investigators have begun conducting interviews.

The House probe into Gaetz's conduct was reopened last July after the Ethics Committee initially deferred its investigation at the request of the Justice Department, which conducted its own years-long probe that concluded without charging Gaetz in 2023.

MORE: DOJ won't charge Matt Gaetz in sex-trafficking probe as lawyer for minor calls investigation 'difficult experience'

Responding to the new developments, Gaetz told ABC News in a statement, "It's great to see the Ethics Committee has interests beyond trading stocks. They seem to be quite the unusual whales."

Members of the Ethics Committee declined to comment to ABC News regarding the probe.

Fritz Schiller, the attorney for Joel Greenberg, a one-time close friend of Gaetz who was sentenced to 11 years in prison after pleading guilty to federal charges ranging from wire fraud to sex trafficking a minor, told ABC News that he would not "confirm or deny" being in contact with the House Ethics Committee.

Gaetz, when the probe was reopened in July, blasted the Ethic Committee for "trying to weaponize their process."

"I was cleared by the Department of Justice and the FBI, who looked into my life for years," Gaetz said at the time. "Now, I believe that the House Ethics Committee is trying to weaponize their process against me because every once in a while up here I'm a rabble-rouser and I don't go along to get along. And right now, I'm forcing this body to have deal with our debt and our spending."

"I think all the days in Congress, there are probably in the seven years I've been in Congress, there have only been tens of days when I haven't been under one form of ethics investigation or another," Gaetz said. "I've never been found to have violated any ethical laws. I won't be found to have violated them in this matter either."

The news comes weeks after Rep. George Santos was voted out of Congress following the release of a scathing report by the Ethics Committee that alleged the New York congressman used the prestige of political office to defraud victims of tens of thousands of dollars.

Since the Santos probe concluded, the Ethics Committee has refocused its efforts toward Gaetz, sources said, with the committee expecting to schedule more interviews and receive documents related to the probe in the coming weeks.

Gaetz has denied all wrongdoing. The Justice Department, following a yearslong sex-trafficking probe into the Florida congressman, informed Gaetz last February that it would not bring charges against him.

House ethics committee contacts minor from Matt Gaetz 'sex trafficking' probe: report

The woman who was 17 at the time when she allegedly had sexual relations with Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) has been contacted by the House Ethics Committee, according to CNN citing a source.

The GOP-led committee, chaired by Rep. Michael Guest (R-MS), has been investigating Gaetz and recently begun conducting interviews of "multiple new witnesses" suggesting it is ramping up its fact-finding efforts.

In recent days, the committee has not only fanned out to question witnesses as part of the Justice Department's sex trafficking crime investigation into the Florida congressman (where last year, no criminal charges were brought), but also to figure out if the Florida pol committed lobbying violations, reports ABC News.

Also read: Trump is making his donors travel to him for fundraisers: report

What's more, the committee has also contacted the DOJ for its evidence from the investigation into Gaetz, which also included allegations Gaetz had sex with a minor.

Gaetz has denied any wrongdoing and said the claims that he had sex with a minor or even paid for sex are baseless.

“Those allegations were not true, have never been true, and the people who spread those lies have been exposed, indicted, and imprisoned,” Gaetz told CNN.

The one-time start witness for the prosecution, Joel Greenberg, was a former tax collector and one-time close pal of Gaetz. He pleaded guilty in 2021 to a stalking charge for falsely smearing a political rival as a pedophile, identity theft, and sex trafficking a 17-year-old girl — the same person that allegedly was victimized by Gaetz.

Gaetz, who saw to ousting former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy out of the job and Washington, has reportedly accused McCarthy of causing the committee's heating up of the investigation.

Back in November, McCarthy claimed Gaetz was seeking reprisals for the investigation into his alleged sex trafficking.

“It’s driven by Gaetz, and it was all based upon an ethics complaint that happened in the last Congress," he said. "He would throw his country away to try to protect himself for what would come out as the truth.”

The woman at the time was reluctant to speak to federal investigators about her relationship with Gaetz dating back to 2017, when she was 17, a source close the case told NBC News.

Matt Gaetz reportedly spills beans about true reason for bouncing Kevin McCarthy

    Kevin McCarthy and Matt Gaetz

A GOP lawmaker feud has reportedly been explained.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is the Republican lawmaker who brought up the motion to remove then-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). He has given a series of vague and unclear reasons why he did it, mainly arguing that McCarthy in some way broke promises he made to the far-right House Freedom Caucus about budget issues. But according to The Daily Beast, Gaetz privately told his colleagues the real reason: it was payback for the House opening up an ethics investigation against him.

"According to private correspondence reviewed by The Daily Beast, Gaetz indicated to a friend that his effort to undercut, isolate, and ultimately remove McCarthy was, indeed, payback for the ethics probe," reported Roger Sollenberger and Reese Gorman. "The Daily Beast reviewed these communications, but is not allowed to quote from them for fear that Gaetz would be able to identify the recipient. In fact, the source who provided the communications was so nervous about retribution that The Daily Beast isn’t allowed to say in what form the correspondence took place."

ALSO READ: Few Trumpers who embrace political violence understand its endgame

"In the communications, Gaetz singled out McCarthy individually for reviving an Ethics Committee probe against him, and he indicated that his animus toward McCarthy was over that investigation," said the report. "The beleaguered Florida congressman’s anger over the revived probe was so strong that he rode his resentment all the way to a history-making vote to remove McCarthy, steamrolling the majority of his GOP colleagues concerned that his vanity project would cause serious, long-term damage — and he did so with his signature Gaetz grin."

According to the report, "other Republican congressional sources" also say that Gaetz "acknowledged his revenge motive behind closed doors."

The Ethics Committee investigation into Gaetz stems from allegations that he accepted a bribe, took recreational drugs, laundered campaign funds for personal use, and transported an underage girl across state lines for sex acts. The FBI investigated the last allegation extensively, and his associate Joel Greenberg pleaded guilty to several charges, but no charges against Gaetz himself were ever filed. Recently, the investigation has ramped up.

GOP official schools Matt Gaetz on how Trump created conditions for U.S. soldier deaths

Rep. Cory Mills schooled fellow Floridian Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz Monday over former President Donald Trump's Middle East policy.

During an episode of his Firebrand podcast, Gaetz told Mills that Trump had kept Iran in check by assassinating Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani. Gaetz said that Trump's policies had prevented the deaths of soldiers like the U.S. saw on Sunday when three troops died in Jordan. An Iranian-backed militia reportedly carried out the attacks.

But Mills explained how the assassination of Soleimani could have led to the deaths of the three U.S. soldiers.

ALSO READ: A murderer massacred July 4 revelers. Park workers suffered. Now some feel abandoned.

"I would argue that the elimination of Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis only resulted in the replacement of Esmail Qaani," Mills responded. "So that's why, what did we actually create? We had the general secretary of Lebanon, Hassan Nasrallah, who leads Hezbollah, basically have his son marry Qassem Soleimani's daughter, thereby giving him more political power of the Ayatollah and creating Qatar Hezbollah, who's responsible for the majority of the tax on us in Iraq."

"So, this is not just, look, the bottom line is that we should have learned over the last 20 years, you cannot kill and defeat an ideology through bombs, bullets, and grenades," he remarked. "That is not how ideological beliefs exist. That is not how these people become radicalized."

First on CNN: House Ethics Committee reached out to Rep. Matt Gaetz’s ex-girlfriend amid ongoing investigation

The House Ethics Committee investigating Rep. leaving the page." data-wf-tooltip-position="bottom">Matt Gaetz has reached out to an ex-girlfriend who was a key witness in the federal investigation into the Florida lawmaker, according to a source familiar with the ethics probe.

The outreach, which has not previously been reported, is a sign that the GOP-led committee’s investigation into the Florida Republican has recently expanded to include questioning around allegations of sex crimes, drug use and illicit benefits.

Gaetz said in a statement to CNN that the Ethics Committee investigation is “payback” for Gaetz’s efforts to oust Kevin McCarthy, the former speaker of the house, and that he sees “through this sham and the American people will too.” The Ethics Committee declined to comment.

The woman, a former Capitol Hill staffer, has been linked to Gaetz as far back as the summer of 2017. Investigators were interested in that time because that is when the congressman is accused of having sexual contact with another woman, who was 17 years old at the time. That federal probe concluded in 2023 with no charges brought against the congressman. Gaetz has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, including ever having sex with a minor or paying for sex.

The ex-girlfriend was granted immunity in the federal criminal probe and testified before a grand jury in January 2022. She is not expected to voluntarily cooperate with the Ethics probe.

CNN previously reported that the committee also recently reached out to that woman who was still 17 when she allegedly had sex with the congressman as part of its investigation.

They have also asked the Justice Department for materials related to its years long investigation, which included allegations he had sex with a minor.

Gaetz, who led the charge to oust former McCarthy, has privately blamed McCarthy for the committee restarting its probe under the California Republican’s watch.

But McCarthy has repeatedly denounced those accusations and has said Gaetz worked to oust the former speaker because of the ethics probe.

“I don’t believe them to be conservatives,” McCarthy said in November, referring to the eight Republicans who voted to oust him. “It’s driven by Gaetz, and it was all based upon an ethics complaint that happened in the last Congress. He would throw his country away to try to protect himself for what would come out as the truth.”

Isn't this just too cute by half. If Trump didn't engage in insurrection then why did these treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans ask for pardons? The list comprised Trump's closest congressional allies: Republican Reps. Mo Brooks of Alabama, Matt Gaetz of Florida, Andy Biggs of Arizona, Louie Gohmert of Texas, Scott Perry of Pennsylvania and Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia. And gee could those to things be connected?

Matt Gaetz Leads Republican Resolution Declaring Donald Trump Didn’t Engage In Insurrection

WASHINGTON — Republicans led by Rep. leaving the page." data-wf-tooltip-position="bottom" data-wf-reset-every="90">Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) want Congress to declare former President Donald Trump innocent of engaging in insurrection.

Gaetz and 62 House Republicans introduced a symbolic resolution simply stating that Trump “did not engage in insurrection or rebellion against the United States.”

It’s the latest effort by Republicans to whitewash Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election, which included sending a mob of his supporters to the U.S. Capitol while Congress certified the vote result. More than 1,200 people have been charged with crimes for attacking police and ransacking the building.

The House impeached Trump shortly after the attack for incitement of insurrection. He was acquitted by the Senate.

The House resolution comes as the Supreme Court weighs whether state officials can keep Trump off the ballot for having engaged in insurrection. The 14th Amendment to the Constitution, adopted after the Civil War, forbids anyone from serving in the federal government if they took an oath of office and then engaged in insurrection.

The insurrection case is separate from Trump’s various criminal cases, which include charges related to the riot, such as obstructing an official proceeding.

Republicans on Tuesday said that since Trump has not actually been charged with insurrection, he can’t be disallowed from appearing on state ballots. Experts think the court will likely side with the Trump campaign.

Republicans also downplayed the riot, saying Trump had urged his supporters to be peaceful while ignoring Trump’s statements that people should “fight like hell.”

“President Trump and his supporters were vilified for doing nothing more than exercising their First Amendment rights,” Rep Diana Harshbarger (R-Tenn.) said.

“We would call what happened that day ’a Wednesday’ in the Missouri Capitol,” Rep. Eric Burlison (R-Mo.) said.

Gaetz and many other lawmakers have insinuated that FBI informants or agents manipulated the crowd. Gaetz on Tuesday again pointed to the possibility that the FBI influenced events, but didn’t quite say so outright.

“There were people who were violent at that riot,” he said, “and they should not have been, but that is a very different thing than declaring that President Trump engaged in insurrection.”

It looks like the Ethics Committee is moving in for the kill. Joel Greenberg already rolled over on Gaetz. He's in prison doing 11 years and Gaetz is walking around free. For two reasons. Federal prosecutors in Florida wanted to indict Gaetz but main justice in DC declined because Greenberg was a sleaze bag witness and the underage girl would not testify willingly. And Gaetz is a sitting Congressman with a rich and powerful daddy. But obviously Gaetz has made a lot of enemies in the House and they would have no problem using Greenberg to knock him off. And Greenberg would probably welcome the chance to return the favor.

The House Ethics Committee is taking a major step in reviving an inquiry into Rep. Matt Gaetz's (R-FL) alleged dalliances with underage teens, reports the New York Times.

The Department of Justice previously conducted its own investigation and chose not to file charges, but that has not stopped the House committee for requesting all materials to do their own inquiry.

As the Times is reporting, the lawyer for the chief witness against the Florida Republican is now co-operating as the investigation ramps up.

"Fritz Scheller, a lawyer for Mr. Gaetz’s former friend and political ally Joel Greenberg, said he provided documents to the committee that he said backed up his client’s claims that he witnessed Mr. Gaetz having sex with a 17-year-old girl," the report states with attorney stating in an email, "Mr. Greenberg has and will cooperate with any congressional request.”

The report adds that Greenberg pleaded guilty to trafficking in 2021 and is currently serving a an 11-year prison sentence.

The far-right Republicans who banded together to oust former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) are suddenly finding donors shutting their wallets as opponents line up to primary them.

According to CNN's Melanie Zanona and Manu Raju, the so-called "Gaetz 8" are facing "blowback" for driving out McCarthy whose prolific fundraising skills led to his rise to the top spot in the GOP House leadership.

The report states, "The eight House Republicans who took the unprecedented step of removing Kevin McCarthy from the speakership are facing blowback, both in Washington and back home. It’s a sign that even four months after the historic move, emotions are still raw inside a GOP conference that is continuing to reel from McCarthy’s ouster."

While noting that Gaetz seems to be doing fine raising campaign cash — raising $1.8 million in the last quarter, more than double the $770,000 he took in the previous quarter -- the others have not fared nearly as well.

Add to that are more well-financed opponents lining up to take them on.

"Reps. Nancy Mace of South Carolina and Bob Good of Virginia have arguably received the most incoming fire, with both now facing serious primary threats as they gear up for reelection," the report states. "And Rep. Matt Rosendale, who recently jumped into the US Senate race in Montana, is facing headwinds in GOP circles — in part because of his vote to boot McCarthy — as top Republicans fear he will cost them a pivotal seat.

Rosendale, in particular, is struggling, only raising a meager $98,000 last quarter.

McCarthy is reportedly working behind the scenes to take down his antagonists, with CNN reporting, "

“If I’m those folks, one of the things that would scare the crap out of me more than anything else is an unhinged McCarthy,” a GOP lawmaker told CNN. “The guy’s the most prolific fundraiser, you’ve got a massive group of donors across the country that are pissed off about what’s happening, and you’ve got these boneheads that have caused it.”

The House Ethics Committee has obtained text messages showing Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) took a three-day trip to the Florida Keys with the woman his associate Joel Greenberg paid for sex acts, reported ABC News on Wednesday.

"In the alleged text messages described exclusively to ABC News, the then-freshman congressman appeared to message a woman, who ABC News is not identifying, asking if she would fly on a private plane to the Florida Keys for a trip with Gaetz, three other women, and one other man," reported Will Steakin. "'Hey — any interest in flying on a private plane to the keys May 19-21?' Gaetz allegedly wrote to the woman, who was older than 21 at the time, according to multiple sources familiar with the messages."

"Gaetz then allegedly said that the trip would feature '2 guys, 4 girls. A very high-quality adventurous group,' according to the messages, which have previously not been reported on," said the report. The woman then wrote back, "Yeah I'm in," and Gaetz responded, "Fantastic. As is true with all time you spend w me, it'll be fun and chill […] You have a passport?"

Gaetz, a far-right congressional ally of former President Donald Trump who led the charge to vote former Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) out of the House speakership, was investigated by the FBI previously over allegations that he helped transport an underage woman across state lines for sex.

Greenberg, a local county tax collector in Florida, was charged and pleaded guilty in connection with that investigation amid revelations that Gaetz sent odd Venmo payments to him, but Gaetz never was charged with any crime in this probe. The congressman maintains he has not broken any laws. However, the House Ethics Committee subsequently opened its own investigation into this incident, along with other allegations that Gaetz has engaged in drug use and misused campaign funds.

Publicly, Gaetz claimed to have worked to remove McCarthy because he had broken congressional spending promises he made to the far-right House Freedom Caucus; however, he has reportedly confessed to friends that the real reason he ousted McCarthy was payback for the Ethics Committee probe against him.

God may be on your side, but he's on everyone's side. He cheers for both teams in a super bowl...

Members of the House Ethics Committee investigating Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) over accusations of having sex with underage women, drug parties, and public corruption are in possession of Gaetz texts and photos from a woman who was part of a sex trafficking investigation.

According to a report from the Daily Beast's Roger Sollenberger, the unidentified woman affirmed that she was over 21 at the time and that the sex was consensual at the drug and alcohol-fueled party.

The report adds that the woman told Department of Justice investigators she "received payments in connection with multiple sex parties with people in Gaetz’s circle."

According to the report, "the House Ethics Committee is now reviewing this evidence as part of its inquiry into whether Gaetz paid for sex with women and with an underage teen. In fact, the Ethics Committee met Thursday afternoon behind closed doors to discuss the Gaetz case, which also involves allegations of public corruption, solicitation of prostitution, habitual use of hard drugs, bribes or impermissible gifts, campaign finance violations, and exhibiting nude photos of sexual partners on the House floor."

In an interview with the Beast, the woman claimed an associate of the embattled Florida Republican reached out to her in 2021 when he was initially being investigated and asked if she had been speaking with anyone.

The report adds that investigators have a text from Gaetz from 2017 where he wrote to her, "Hey—any interest in flying on a private plane to the keys May 19-21?” adding she would be traveling with “2 guys, 4 girls. A very high-quality adventurous group.”

After she replied, “Fantastic,” he replied, "As is true with all time you spend w me, it’ll be fun and chill,” before asking if she had a passport.
