I can see both the pros and the cons of this undefined 'rule.' On the one hand, Clarise makes an excellent point. On the other, so does DMP and WSF. While it leaves a lot of room for interpretation on the authors' parts, what the author sees as an innocent 'coming-of-age' story could very well be reported and removed. Which is going to leave a lot of authors banging their heads against their desks. And, what happens when one story with virtually the same situations and storyline gets left up while another is taken down? That is going to cause a lot of grievences and hard feelings towards some authors.

I do feel sorry for whoever is going to have to wade through all the reports. And I raise a glass to all the mods who are being driven to the brink of insanity by the topsy-turvy world they just got thrust into.

As someone who has incorrectly forecast the death of the stories site before, during months when it wasn't accepting new stories or votes, I feel that we can't assume that owner indifference and ineptitude will mean the end of xnxx stories as we know it. It does seem to have some Lazarus like qualities in its own bumbling, stumbling way.

Will the loss of pedophilia be the death knell? Undoubtedly some readers will go, but maybe new ones with no stomach for pedophilia will arrive and stay longer. Maybe more writers will be encouraged as their work won't be crowded out by stories of rape on underage girls which is what pedophilia is.

The OTHER SITE has a minimum age of 18 and has more readers, writers and stories than the stories section of this site.

Sorry about the wasted post, everyone.

I had been in the process of writing a brief entry, in order to - of all things - defend SpecialKay! But then, something odd happened. When I posted my message, all my paragraph formatting disappeared. Now, maybe I am just getting paranoid, but when the forum was briefly down this morning (U.S. Eastern Standard Time), I suspect that the site administrators had been patching their VBulletin/MySQL scripts expressly to disable the paragraph formatting methods I have been using! I say this because, even on this post, all my lovely formatting has disappeared, and my sentences have been reduced to these unsightly left-aligned blocks of gook.

I thought this was an EROTICA site!! Is whoever came up with this actually stupid enough to believe that they're going to restrict authors and readers and still keep them coming to the site?? I've brought writers from other sites to XNXX because of its unrestricted policies but implementing ANY restrictions will drive them away. There are genres that I don't open and read because they don't interest me. Can I demand that they be deleted?? Is that alright with everyone?? I didn't think so. If you close down ONE genre... close them ALL down. I.E. close the site down.

Maybe it's time for the Authors to get together and set up our own site with a disclaimer at the top. "WARNING!! This site contains sexually explicit fiction that may describe erotic acts with prepubescent participants. If you choose to enter and read... don't complain about what you've read." SSB

 

What was it that Samuel Clemens said about the rumors of his death being greatly exagerated? With all this talk about banning underage stories, there were at least 3 stories posted on the stories site today that I think might be considered 'underage'. Two of them involved 12 year old girls and on included a 14 year old girl.

I only have one minor question: are the only 'underage' stories being banned the ones that have been complained about? Interesting.

The OTHER site has been around for a WHOLE LOT LONGER time than this one has and was much better run... which is why it's so much larger.... but trust me, they've lost writers to THIS site and have been losing more. You people keep screwing with this site and you'll get what you deserve. It won't be more writers and it won't be more readers, either. It'll be less of both and FAILURE. Just as I don't want to read some Genres, you're all free to make the same choice. What about beastiality? What about beastiality with young girls? What about torture and sadism? How about taxation?? Thank you, SSB. That was very well put. There are several genres that, in my advanced age, I find myself unable to stomach. That does NOT mean I want them banned.

Write and post anything you want and I will decide if I want to read it. Sounds good to me.

The other site has 70-80 new stories a day this one 30-40 on a good day when it's up and operating. Enough said.

You've read more into what I wrote than is there. As far as I'm concerned people can read and write whatever they feel like. It's their choice whether that is beastiality, child rape, taxation or how to grow daffodils - it's no concern of mine. I may have my views on those topics, but that's all they are, an individual opinion of no more and no less value than anyone else's. And certainly no advocation of censorship.

Even people who vent their spleen about something they haven't bothered to read properly can have their say.

Click on the stories page, then click on last updates and you will see a full history of stories added to the site. Go back a bit because lately the site is hiccuping and you will see that my figures are correct and your 7-8 is simply not true. It's just as easy to check on the other site.

Censorship
I'm dictating nothing. If people want to write and read child rape, that's their choice and I've not supported this site closing it. I find the topic repulsive, but I'm sure there are millions who would find what I write repulsive. For whatever reason, laws, market pressure, personal preferences, the owners have decided to ban it. As is their right, just as it is your and my right to set our standards for what happens in our houses.

So SSB, please try and hit the right target. I've never suggested that pedophilia should be banned from the site, never supported the owners' decision on the subject. I'm just going with the flow, neither rejoicing nor lamenting, but I am expressing the view that the site is unlikely to die.

The author I admire above just about all others is JackAssTales, for his marvelous command of and feel for English, for his characterization, conversation and story telling and I enjoy his tales (as I ignore the underlying theme) although I would love to see his talents on other themes. But that's his decision.

I also enjoyed Camping with my Mom and it deserves its readership in my humble opinion. Xnxx would be the poorer without it and your other stories. But that's your decision.

 

Gracefully handled... but I still completely disagree with your daily total and cling to my own. They put up new posts approx. every three days. Extremely RARELY are there 24 new posts. 120?? NOT EVER!!!!

I still spoke/wrote my piece and if the site owners weren't reading/listening, shame on them. They WILL lose authors and, subsequently, readers. As everyone knows, they've run a generally sloppy and unresponsive operation... at least ever since I joined, three years ago, so it seems ludicrous to suddenly do what they've done. It's like an Arab cab driver suddenly deciding that he won't take fares if he smells bacon on their breath.

 

As far as I know its not illegal to have stories featuring children because it falls under the free speech legislation. I think its important that there is an outlet for people who like these stories so it doesnt manifest in physical behaviour.
