I liked Empress Lainie... we didn't exchange often but I would read her posts...

 

Kimiko explained that she has cancer, a very difficult type. But people beat cancer everyday and one of the ways they approach cancer these is to help you live with it... like a chronic disorder... here's to you Kimiko.

We have not confirmed kimiko passed away, or is alive and well, or in the fight for her life. I would suggest hoping for the best until it is confirmed. Of course you can probably see Empress did indeed pass away.

I agree with the part about hoping for the best for those whom you don't see posting. There was a woman, Moran, who wrote a very long (200,000 words plus) series over in the stories forum and had quite a following. Her last post was the day or or day before the tsunami hit Japan, so, she hadn't been heard from in a number of years. For posterity sake, I archived her entire story, and with the new rules, it went away. Then, a couple of months later, out of the blue, I get a message from her, saying she's alive and well, just didn't have her log-in info, some other personal stuff going on, but she was good.

My point? Sometimes absence is due to other reasons. We can hope for the best until otherwise confirmed.

I miss getmehot. Her name was Amanda. We talked on the phone. Text messaged. Myspace friends. Facebook friends. Never got the chance to meet in person.

It's funny, when I switched from my iPhone 4 to the 5, I felt sick to my stomach when I realized the text message convo that we last had was now erased since I switched phones. I have no clue why I was so sad over it. We had so much in common and she really did help me through a really hard time in my life.

And Mr. One. He's still on my facebook too.

I'm sad to hear of Lainey's passing too. She was a fun person!
