I think it can be. I myself seem to have a tough time maintaining friendships. But, alas, that likely says more about me than it does the concept of friendship.

 

I can count my true friends on one hand... With a few fingers to spare... A true friend will help u hide the body...

 

Using that criteria I have a few...

My Darling was a friend for 13 years before something brought us close enough to talk properly and love blossomed. Neither of us were looking for it and I suppose it was an accident, but the heart never asks permission. He's still my friend and it's delicious.

 

Friendship is very important to me. Trust is the main issue. You kiss up to me, and behind my back you fuck me. You'll be lucky if you're still breathing. I'm not one for being fucked over. Friends should never fuck each other over, no matter what. There's a certain kind of bond you have that comes with friendship.

I have one true friend that I know will always be there for me at a drop of a dime, and he knows the same. That one true friend went away to camp for a little over three years, and didn't trust leaving his money to his family. He trusted leaving it with me, that's true friendship. After camp was over and we got together I handed him his shoebox. He didn't know what it was, he totally forgot what he left for me to hold. He's never forgotten that and talks about it still today. Friendship is not wanting, expecting, or using someone for your own benefit. We both love each other, and we're not afraid to say it, no matter who's around

 

Real friends are those that roll up their sleeves and dig in to the shit flying around, rather than disappear when the going gets tough........

 

Fortunately I’ve been blessed with wonderful parents and siblings. They have always been there for me. But it can get to a point when it’s too much.

I have a sister & brother in law who would do anything for me, but at the same time I get irritated being around her. It’s like she feels she has to solve every issue, she’s overly opinionated but I say nothing not to hurt her feeling. I’m getting tired of that now.

My wife is my best friend. I am pretty much an introvert. I thrive on being alone and alone with her. I get exhausted faster when others enter the picture but I can pleasantly get by for a night.

 

I prefer my own company to anybody else's, I should have been one those little old ladies that live alone with masses of cats (or in my case dogs, but a cat too). In Medieval times I'd have been called a witch and treated people with herbs and potions!

I have 3 really close friends. I used to have 4 but he got caught up on with a girl and he forgot about us and thats when i understood something. When you really care about someone you don't throw them out you keep them in your life

Friends are indeed important - even the stubborn ones who dont listen to great advice

 

I have 3 great friends since childhood and even though i see them once or twice a year when we see each other we pick up like time didn't past since we last saw each other. Yes amigos are important.

 

Because I am introverted I prefer a good conversation with a close friend to a large social gathering.
