This is the problem with being a junkie....Be sure, he may not have done meth in a while, he may not for years to come, yet he will still be a junkie and until he can adjust, if ever, to living a straight life fully, only then will drugs not be the primary focus of his life.....Do not think that just because he is not doing them now they are not. So he simply gets by and whether he realizes it or not everything else comes after that nagging urge.

Now that is not a criticism of him, but it is how it is. This is why all the folks extolling the virtues of sex and this drug or that will end up having massive problems that can last a lifetime, and only by making those urges secondary to everything else can you move past it.

Finally, at this moment he probably feels that sex, and the urges for it are lack-luster to even nonexistent. They may actually very well be which just urges him more to start back up in that the drugs change our thought processes and our physical bodies ability to act and respond naturally.....In time if he really gives being straight a fair chance they'll come back. Yet he has to make an effort, constantly, and forever.

In the end sex free of drugs/booze is significantly better than on. Folks however believe that it is not in that they feel less restrained when using them. The truth being, we just need to give ourselves permission to enjoy, and not look for an excuse to.

I think I've probably experienced a drug related loss of sex drive several times in my life. I don't think however that ever made me a selfish asshole, or any more of one.

Some credit is due and time will help his problem. Sadly without some other intervention it may not help you.

Looking at your pics I will say that you are not the issue. With people that have been addicts, homeless, in prison, and military, there is an adjustment period when that time of life is over. I have a friend that went to prison for 12 years and for the first 14 months or so home he slept on the floor when he had a bed, when I got out of the Army I still kept the same schedule for a long time until I adjusted to th real world.
