The children are the real victims here...

South Carolina man surprised to find woman and her children moved into his home, report says

By Kathleen Joyce | Fox News

Savannah Rhinehart, 25, was charged with child neglect, burglary and petty larceny. (Union Police Department)

A South Carolina man was surprised to find some unwanted house guests when he returned home last week -- a woman and her children had made themselves at home.

Kent Foster told FOX Carolina he went to his home in Union, South Carolina, after work to find that the furniture had been moved and someone had smoked inside. He called 911 after he heard noises inside his home.

Police went to the residence where Savannah Rhinehart, 25, allegedly told officers she lived there. Her two children were also there with her.

"When she opens the door, the first thing she [Rhinehart] says is, 'Can I help you?' Yeah, the first thing you can do is leave my house," Foster told FOX Carolina.

Foster said he noticed Rhinehart was wearing his wife’s clothes.

"My mouth drops," Foster said. "She has all of [my wife's] clothes. Bedroom shoes, shirt, what she owned."

It was not immediately clear how Rhinehart allegedly entered the home.

Foster told the media outlet one of the children had no pants on. He said food had been eaten and the tub had allegedly been used.

Rhinehart was transported to a hospital to be evaluated. She was charged with child neglect, burglary and petty larceny, People reported. The children were placed in protective custody.

“I spoke to the officer who responded who said that in her mind she thought she lived there,” Union Public Safety Captain Kevin Powers told People.

As for Foster, he said he felt “violated” following the incident.

No this is actually the Democratic immigration policy applied to home ownership. You know anyone can come in anytime they want and no one cares.

Squatters are a growing problem in Colorado, they find a vacant house and just move in.

Happened to our neighbors, they've been out of state for a month and one morning shooter is talking with another neighbor and this beat up old car pulls into the neighbors drive, and they start unloading while the man goes around back.
A minute later he comes out the front door and we confront them. He claims they just rented the house and blah blah blah so we call the cops, who say since the family is already in the house it will take a court order.
    Really.
So the cops leave, and 4 of us explain to this moron that they have 15 minutes to clear out.
No spoken threats but he starts in about courts and rights, and we explain back, he can leave quietly now or find out how this neighborhood works.

Fucker finally left when neighbor brought his Sheppard out to meet the new neighbors. Sheppard is not friendly to squatters.

Anyway we fixed the broken lock on the back door and posted no trespassing signs around the house.

    Problem solved.

Squatters or a problem here also as soon as they find a house that has been foreclosed on , they move into it and the police can't even make them leave. Here in Jersey . there's always two police on our jobs every day . The stories we hear are very funny . The police hands are tied and that sucks .

We have "NO TRANSPASSING" ever 200ft. Around our property. We give one warning.

Another part of this "NGD" is to do away with air travel in 10 years.

Why is it that you Republicans have trouble with interpreting the english language.

The NGD doesn't call for removing all planes from the skies......it is suggesting to "build up a high speed rail network to a scale that would make air travel not so necessary".

Why yes, the robbers in government who cook up these schemes. Schemes tied up in red tape and corruption.
    Shooter wonders:
When most air travel is gone, wonder who will be flying while the minions ride the train?

Mind you, shooter pointed out a long time ago that controlling CO2 has to start with aircraft, but the question remains: when air travel is severely restricted, who will be flying and why?

I find your thread title offensive. I don't see any reference in the report you quoted to the GND.
I seems like you made that apart up.
Was it for click bait, or are you a Trumpett?

No, it's not offensive, it's ridiculous and pathetic. Trying to turn a dog bite type news story into something politically partisan. Looking to the source of this particular article will reveal the mindset of the poster. Fox News and People magazine. Offensive? Hardly, more like laughable.

    Offensive?....now... that is fucking hilarious.

Truth being, B. Sanders and locos like AOC also want "free housing for all," "$15 U.S.D. wage for all", among many of their other "claims."

Oh, you 2, your (plural) goal is to upset people.
    Well, liberal people.
Is this goal allowed here? Is that goal a form of 'Trolling'?
I assumed that we are supposed to try to be nice to each other.
I'll make a list of not-nice-peolpe here so I can ignore them.

I really don't think the woman in question in this story chose the house because of politics. It is very sad for the children, and not a great commentary on the shape of our society.yet,I bet not one of you ,(including me) would say,Hey we can share the house!I don't need all this space. And I think mr.smith and mr wesson would be doing the talking for me instead of the police.

I thought this thread was about the Green New Deal.

    ------------

    Business Insider, Feb. 14, 2019

More than 80% of Americans support almost all of the key ideas in Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Green New Deal

To start with, INSIDER's poll found that a solid majority of Americans agreed with scientific consensus around climate change.

Nearly 62% of those polled said the Earth was warming as a result of human activities, including burning fossil fuels, which is the scientific consensus...

A plurality of respondents — 43.7% — agreed with the Green New Deal proposal as a whole, with 16.3% strongly agreeing, 13.9% agreeing, and 13.5% somewhat agreeing. Just 14.7% disagreed with it...

87.2% of poll respondents said it was somewhat, very, or extremely important that the US meet 100% of its power demands through renewable or zero-emission energy sources...

86% of those polled said it was important that the federal government enact policies aimed at achieving net-zero greenhouse-gas emissions (which would mean no added carbon dioxide in the atmosphere)...

And 87.5% of respondents said it's important that both manufacturing and agricultural businesses and industries be required to be as emission-free as technologically feasible...

The resolution's call for major investment in energy-efficient transportation was also popular, with 87.6% of those polled saying it's important that the government invest directly in a high-speed rail system, zero-emission vehicle infrastructure, and clean public transit...

And big majorities of respondents supported a broad call for a much stronger social safety net. Seventy-eight percent said a federal jobs guarantee was important. And 69.8% somewhat approved, approved, or strongly approved of the government providing all Americans with high-quality healthcare, affordable housing, economic security, healthy and affordable food, and a clean environment...

A recent survey from the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication and George Mason University found that 73% of Americans said they understood that global warming was occurring — an increase of 10 percentage points from three years ago.

    -----------

The way to get places in politics is to get in front of popular issues. That is where Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is. The Republican Hate Machine can try to smear her. I do not think it will work.

Conservatives who think none of this matters because Trump was elected president forget that Trump ran as a populist who seemed to care about the victims of globalism and de industrialism. He even indicated from time to time that he would be open to a more progressive tax system. He promised no cuts in Medicare and Social Security. He was sometimes described as a third party candidate running as a Republican. The Republican nostrums of "lower taxes, less government" do not seem to resonate any more.
