You often make false assumptions about my opinions in order to make them easer to refute.

If you must know, I think fifteen year old teenagers should not be having sexual intercourse. Yes I know. Many of them do. What I really want is for adults, especially men, to think that 15 year olds are off limits. I would have tried to cultivate the good opinion of her parents.

The OP is 18 and wonders if he should be having sex with 15 year old girls. When I was 18 I did not date 15 year old girls. If I did I would not have tried to have sex with her. I also would have made sure that she was home at a decent hour.

Whatever. He should leave 15 year olds alone. If he is gay and 18, older men will go crazy over him. I used to live near a gay bath house that let males from 18 to 21 in for free. They may have been expected to service the older and paying clients, however.

We certainly arent, since thousands of laws are made every year (maybe more?) and none seem to go away. Laws in general tell us what we cannot do. Will there come a time when we cant do ANYTHING?

I know this wont happen. But wouldnt it be interesting to throw every law in the can and start out fresh and clean with responsible, knowledgeable, multicultural, multiracial, non nationalistic, intelligent lawmakers making a body of law we can really live with and makes sense.

Ignorance of the law is not a defense, do you know EVERY law that concerns you personally?

It would be interesting.. But thats always up for debate. Your idea of a 'decent' law,might not work for some one else.

 

Im aware of that. But i think if those lawmakers left out special interest agendas, religious dogma (we are too many religions in this country for one religion to dominate, hence the separation of church and state) and knee jerk keep me in office laws, we could have something that is way better than what we have now. Its impossible to please everybody but it is possible to make a sensible system of judicial and law enforcement. I dont believe we have that now

 

Let the people involved handle it, leave the law to handle violent crime

First of all you're assuming that 18 year old boys are grown men. They are far from it, they are just as likely to have a 15 or 16 year old girl run circles around them as to be in a position of "power" over them. When I was 15 I was more mature than 18 and 19 year old boys. My son is 18 and he's still just a giant kid. His girlfriend is 16 and already is rolling her eyes at him like he's an idiot. I'm fairly certain they're not having sex as her father keeps a very strict eye on her. when my daughter was 16 she was dating an 18 year old boy who was equally child like and my daughter basically ran him. I don't know that most 18 year old boys are mature enough to have power over anyone. lol

back in my day it happened constantly and nothing much happened i was 17 when my daughters we born and the mothers of my kids were 13 and 14 (sisters).

 

I dont quite understand your point. Your saying 15-16 yr olds girls think 18 yr old boys are immature and dont fit sexually? So? Maybe the men should be older so the girls wont think that. Its the way I felt growing up

 

just find someone your own age its not the most difficult thing in the world.

yes people around that age may be capable of making a "conscious decision" but you don't know if its really what they want in the long run or how much they will regret it once they get over the illusion of the older, experienced guy.

as far as the topic goes, i had sex with a 17 year old when i was 19. he didn't care, and i'm sure his mom sure as hell didn't want to know, nor did she care. the kid had been having sex since he hit puberty. i would never go younger, and when i hit 20, i never went younger than 18, and until recently (past 2 years) my partners were always around my age.

i don't think anyone above age 20 should be sleeping with someone under 18. of course it all boils down to maturity, and how involved their parents are in their life. i'm not going to say that everyone 17-18 years old is immature and can't handle a sexual relationship. that would be lumping everyone into a stereotype, and there are some that are even more mature than your average 30 year old. but personally, i'm not going to sleep with anyone under 18, no matter how mature they might be.
