For a change of pace, we're having a quick KAW. It'll be gone in a flash. I've coordinated with @wantsomefun and his CAW 26.

KAW, Kalling All Writers, is the little brother to the CAW, a writing competition. It is open to anyone who has not won a CAW. This includes previous KAW winners. I encourage previous CAW and KAW entrants to compete. Previous CAW winners are welcome to submit non entries. Everyone is welcome to comment on the posted stories (I'd encourage the CAW winners to comment.)

The theme for this KAW is "Flash Fiction". There is no restriction on content, but it must be in less than 1001 words. (Another way of saying, one thousand words or less.) The challenge will also be over in a flash as the writing period will run until 23:59 pacific time on November 22nd. Only two weeks. You only need a thousand words, not even a thousand, it can be shorter, or even much shorter, brevity is the soul of this KAW. How long can that take you?

To enter this KAW, please post your entry on this Sex Stories forum as its own thread, with a title like: "KAW 5 - Gone in a flash." (Or whatever your title happens to be.) Then please send me a link to the thread @stex Everyone is encouraged to read and comment on the stories.

Please keep things civil. (Incivility will be one of the few grounds for dismissal from this KAW.)

In the (unlikely) event of a dispute about the length of an entry, the web site: http://wordcounttools.com will be used to count the words in an entry.

That means there's no conflict between writing an entry for both.

Can I please have the definition of "Fiction"

 

As there's no restriction on content, I don't think it needs to be defined. I'll leave judgments like that to the voters.

However, my dictionary on this machine defines it as:

I'd say the important thing is that it has to involve things that aren't real. A true description of a person or an event would not be fiction.

I'll also say for this, the "prose" part of the definition may not be so important. With so few words to play with, if you want to put in any sort of plot you may have to get more poetic with the wording.

I have a question @stex can we write more than one story?

 

That's the second person to ask about more than one story.

More than one is allowed. I have no hard number for how many, apart from a "reasonable" number.

As they can be written quickly, I reserve to right to revise that.

Just to make it clear it doesn't have to be exactly the limit, it can be less. So 100 words is just as valid as 1000.

 

ok STEX! Next stupid question. Can it be sci-fi or ???
I so confused think head going to explode and yes knowing me I could write it in about 10 15 minutes

 

There's no restriction on content, just length so both SicFi and ??? are valid.

Also for clarification., 1001 words is too long, it must be shorter than that.

I will note, that if you are in doubt as to how many words are in your story, the website: http://wordcounttools.com is the official way of counting words.

If you're running a Mac, there's a useful way of activating a menu item to do word count. I find this useful. http://osxdaily.com/2014/01/27/word-character-counter-service-mac-os-x/ (But its not official.)

The last one was something I put together to illustrate what you can do in 346 words. Its based on a song which tells the same story in 129 words.
