A black hole neither implodes matter nor does in explode matter.

It merely collapses all matter (and light) into a ridiculously tiny mass. But don't worry, I'm fairly certain it would happen so fast that we wouldn't even be able to perceive what happened.

But we may be sent to some other part of the universe... Or some very bizarre place where the past present and future get all jumbled together. Also, Giant Crabs.

They aren't black.

That's right.

They only appear black to us because they absorb all light. Many black holes have a disc of rapidly spinning matter around them, traveling at such high speeds that the matter begins to emit various forms of radiation. And the holes bit is a misnomer. They only appear to be holes because they would create a warping effect around the stars (that we perceive) to be around them, creating a bizarre looking void in a vast sea of stars.

He visits CalTech pretty regularly, Ive been twice. events.caltech.edu/hawking. Before i went though, i imagined him to be like a typical scientist. So focused and wrapped up in his work, no time for a lowley average person to ask questions, thinking he was the best person ever...But i was surprised at how NOT like that he seemed.

i got the impression that if i were to run into him on the street and asked a question he would invite me back to his place and talk/discus whatever it was i asked all night.

 

He seems to be a fan of Matt Greoning's work. A man that can take the time to be in a cartoon show must be level headed.
