I love to spoil my man but I dont think I "mother" him.

If someone could give some examples that would be great.

I cook, clean, laundry, have given long sexy sponge baths, rub his feet, bring him snacks if he is playing a video game. Give him head while playing video games, get up early to give him breakfast in bed with me as a side dish, and so much more stuff but I don't see it as mothering him. I do it because he gives me the amazing chance to be at home with our daughter everyday rather then working 3 jobs to support her and my self. He is an amazing man who deserves to be spoiled.

As far as what mothering is: To me it's what some of the male members have said in this thread. It's treating a man like a child. There's a difference between pampering us as men and mothering us, and sometimes mothering can be as simple as giving unwanted/unsolicited (and often bad advice) to a stranger or somebody who you are not fucking or pampering or in a relationship with, as dr.love said. Mothering is simply making us feel like children or trying to treat us as or talk to us as such.

So like I said, I don't want to be mothered, thanks.

If a woman shows compassion in motherly way she is being nice and caring and if you don't want her input then why not tell her cordially and leave it at that? What purpose does this thread serve other than to criticize that way some women show compassion and ignorantly attack all women based on some demented preconceived notion that the Quack has? Of course it's a rheutorical question and the answer is NONE at all.

The Quack has been posting here for awhile now and no assumptions are being made regarding him. It is, however, my personal opinion that I've expressed and everyone is free to agree or disagree with it.

 

Seeing how you didn't insult my spelling (besides saying dr. love was my sock), I was simply correcting you so that in the future, nobody will insult you based on spelling that word wrong.

You're free to your opinion. I just think it's kind of ridiculous to assume that all women are compassionate when "mothering" a guy, and that because of past posts/threads of his that may or may not have painted him in that light, he's always wrong and because of this, nothing he says can be accurate or even close.

There seems to be a very fine line between what some men would call a woman "mothering" them and a woman "caring" for them.
I guess it is up to the partners themselves to communicate with each other the difference between the two, and to know just before that line is crossed..

Ironically the same argument can be used by women against men..Just how many women could call the "I do everything" care that they recieve from their partners, as being "over-protective.."

Men, by definition, like to be seen as self-sufficient and not dependant upon anyone for anything. But they also enjoy the fantasy of being waited upon and having someone there to tend to their every need..

This is where communication between the couple is absolutely necessary, so that each partner gets to feel wanted and cared for without the feeling of being "mothered" or "over-protected."

As I have said, it is a very fine line and sometimes it is very easy to cross that line without knowing it...
