Lauren Boebert says fighting 'hate and antisemitism' is code for going after conservatives

U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) said on Thursday that the Biden administration's vow to "fight hate" and antisemitism equated to a promise that they are "going after" conservatives.

Boebert, who recently filed for divorce from her husband of nearly two decades despite arguing that "strong families" are the backbone of the U.S., is known for posting controversial takes on Twitter. Earlier this month, she claimed that liberals are trying to make Earth Day about climate change when it should really be all about remembering "to appreciate this incredible world God has given us."

On Thursday, Boebert posted a video from Disclose.tv, which showed President Joe Biden (D) talking about his plan to use "collective action to fight hate." Under the plan, he said, government agencies will take action against antisemitism when they see it.

"Silence is complicity," Biden can be seen saying in the video.

Boebert shared the video, with an interesting twist. She interpreted the attack on hate an antisemitism as an attack on her own personal political beliefs.

"When they say stuff like this, they mean they want to go after conservatives," Boebert wrote. "Their tactics are straight out of the USSR's playbook."

Lauren Boebert says 'Democrats are smiling' about debt ceiling deal

U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) said on Tuesday that "Democrats are smiling and whipping 'yes' votes" to secure passage of the newly announced debt ceiling compromise.

Boebert, who has been vocal in her opposition to the deal reached between President Joe Biden and Speaker Kevin McCarthy, said last week that the Biden administration's vow to "fight hate" and antisemitism equated to a promise that they are "going after" conservatives. On Tuesday, she said Democrats who were previously upset about a potential deal are now invigorated by details before them.

"Last week Democrats threatened to 'take to the streets' if Republicans secured spending cuts for American Families," Boebert said in a tweet. "This week, those same Democrats are smiling and whipping more 'yes' votes from their colleagues.

Boebert's opposition to the deal comes as U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has described it as a "sh-t sandwich" that she is likely going to vote for. Greene added that she cares more about the "dessert," which is impeachment.

Lauren Boebert missed debt ceiling vote despite leading fury against deal: report

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) stood shoulder to shoulder with House Freedom Caucus members Tuesday to decry the debt ceiling deal as a disaster for the country. But when it came to actually voting on the bill, she outspoken congresswoman was nowhere to be seen, The Denver Post reported.

Despite all her bluster, the Post reported that Boebert skipped the vote.

"So we're here today in strong opposition of the latest so-called deal to lift the debt ceiling," she said into a microphone Tuesday. "As far as I'm concerned, I think McCarthy did the best he could do to some extent with this deal, but we made it clear at the outset of this Congress that we would not continue business as usual here in Washington, D.C."

She reiterated her message on Twitter.

“Once we fall off that cliff, there’s no going back,” Boebert tweeted.

It was just last week that Boebert told Steve Bannon that the debt ceiling wasn't real and Americans were being gaslit. She was furious that McCarthy made a deal, predicting that it was going to be the end of his speakership.

The report explained that when the vote came on Wednesday, passing 314-117, her vote was missing. It was overwhelmingly passed and her vote wouldn't have made any difference, but it was still notable after she was so adamant about her opposition.

“This country’s financial standing is already on the edge of a cliff,” Boebert said on Twitter on Tuesday. “This current UNLIMITED debt ceiling increase is the burst of wind that is going to send us right over.”

It's unclear where Boebert was. She was spotted running up the steps to the Capitol as they gaveled the vote, Axios reporter Juliegrace Brufke, but she apparently missed it.

“The Swamp did its old song and dance and pretended to listen to the American people, but as soon as the backroom deal was made, it was predetermined that it would pass,” Boebert said in a statement she released after the vote. “I certainly wasn’t afraid to vote against the bill, as I have been advocating against it all week.”

Her spokesperson confirmed that she missed it.

Lauren Boebert lashes out at 'garbage' debt deal and explains why she skipped vote

U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R) on Saturday said in a rant on Twitter that she was "ticked off" by the fact that she wasn't able to participate in the debt ceiling deal negotiations, and clarified that her no-show for the vote was actually a "protest."

Boebert, who has been consistently in opposition to the bill, skipped out on the vote after standing shoulder to shoulder with House Freedom Caucus members to decry the debt ceiling deal as a disaster for the country. In a tweet on Saturday, she explained her actions to all her followers.

"Hey, everyone, I'm back in Colorado, but let's talk about D.C.," Boebert begins. "No excuses, I was ticked off they wouldn't let me do my job, so I didn't take the vote."

Boebert adds that, "Once again, Washington's power machine shoved a multi-trillion-dollar bill down our throats, refused to allow debate or amendments, disregarded everything we fought for in January to actually allow representatives to do their jobs."

Instead, the controversial Republican notes, "they served us up a crap sandwich."

ALSO IN THE NEWS: 'Should we tell her?': Kari Lake roasted over her rally entrance song choice

She referred to her refusal to attend the vote as a "no-show protest," and confirmed that she let her colleagues know she was "against this garbage of a bill" and "against bypassing the voice of each representative."

"Deals cut in the dark are why we are headed towards $36 trillion in debt, and I refuse to be a part of it," she concluded.

In the text accompanying the video, Boebert wrote, "Call it a protest — there’s absolutely no way to ever justify adding another $4-6 trillion in debt. This is more DC self-created garbage that I will always fight against."

Ex-wrestler proves he's not Lauren Boebert's dad – after decades of hounding from her mom

A retired pro wrestler has passed a paternity test proving he’s not the father of Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) – after decades of having been accused that he was by her mother, the Daily Beast reported Saturday.

Boebert confirmed to the Daily Beast that she and a man who wrestled as “Stan Lane” both took DNA tests in the past month that confirmed he was not her father. Lane, whose real name is Wallace Stanfield Lane, had been the subject of a paternity suit and public accusations by her mother – Shawn Roberts Bentz – dating back to the mid-1980s.

“I can confirm that Stan Lane is not my biological father. I personally have never publicly claimed he was my father — but certainly, that allegation is out there,” Boebert told The Daily Beast, which reviewed the test results.

ALSO READ: NFL execs invited these 45 congressional staffers to the 2023 Draft — expenses paid

“The Toby Keith song, 'Who's Your Daddy' hits a bit differently now.”

For Lane, the finding marks the end of a long ordeal during which Bentz, with whom he admits having a brief affair, sued him for child support and continued to accuse him after Boebert was elected to Congress.

“This situation and the numerous false claims made against me over the years has been stressful for me and my family,” Lane said, according to the Daily Beast. “I feel my otherwise good reputation has been tarnished considerably. I and other close members of my inner circle have been dragged into this as well.”

Lane had taken and passed a court-ordered paternity test in 1990. But that test was called into question when Karen Weary, the North Carolina phlebotomist who took Lane's blood sample, was convicted of switching samples in a different case, as reported at Raw Story.

North Carolina child-support officials had attempted to retest anyone whose samples were taken by Weary, but Bentz did not receive the notice. “Because of those questions, last month, the Colorado Republican and Lane agreed to take another round of tests and put the matter to rest once and for all,” the Daily Beast reported.

    And there was this:

“When (Lane) agreed in May to take another test, he let Lauren Boebert have physical custody of the DNA sample so there could be no doubts about its accuracy."

“The results came back on May 11, 2023. They were conclusive that I had a 0.0% chance of being the biological father,” Lane added. “Once we both reviewed the results Lauren and I agreed that this matter is settled, and I accepted Lauren’s apology on behalf of herself and her mother.”

Boebert said they all agreed the results are bona fide: “It was kind of like ya, this is it, ok!” she said. “He has been wrongfully attacked, and he doesn’t deserve that.”

Rep. Lauren Boebert on Wednesday failed to vote on a bill that raised the federal debt ceiling, a move she has vocally and repeatedly opposed. She didn't publicly explain why she missed the vote until Saturday, when she tweeted a video of herself in Colorado calling her absence a "no-show protest."

"Call it a protest — there's absolutely no way to ever justify adding another $4-6 trillion in debt. This is more DC self-created garbage that I will always fight against," Boebert said.

The only problem with that explanation? A video from a CNN producer on Wednesday night shows the congresswoman frantically running up the steps of the Capitol trying to make it inside before the vote.

"They closed it," the producer, Morgan Rimmer, can be heard telling a rushing Boebert.

"They closed it?" Boebert responds, before continuing to run inside the building.

The bill was passed in the House by a vote of 314-117, with the support of 149 Republicans and 165 Democrats, and 71 Republicans and 46 Democrats opposing. The Senate voted 63-36 to pass the bill, and President Joe Biden signed it into law on Saturday.

In her video, Boebert called the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023 a "crap sandwich."

"I certainly let every one of my colleagues and my country know I was against this bill," she said. "Deals cut in the dark are why we're headed towards $36 trillion in debt. And I refuse to be a part of it."

Hey Stumbler, instead of trying to divert from your stupid post, why don't you try to defend your hit piece on Boebert's heritage?
Did she have anything to say about who her father would be?
Did she offer any claim one way or the other from what her mother has been claiming?
Do you think it matters one fucking bit who Boebert's biological father is?
And most importantly, why do you, or the fucks at wrong story, or despicables in general, give a flying fuck who Boebert's bio dad is?

Shooter thinks it's cause you still haven't found that sleazy low you won't go below yet.
    Whatever it takes, eh?

Lauren Boebert mocked after being busted by CNN for lying

Raw Story reported last week that Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) missed the vote for raising the debt ceiling, which she had opposed. But a reporter at Axios spotted her rushing up the steps of the Capitol just as the vote was being closed. She'd missed it and the press knew.

A new video from CNN showed it wasn't just the word of a reporter that observed Boebert racing up the steps, they got her on video.

A CNN producer was heard on video saying, "They closed it."

"They closed it?" Boebert shouted back.

"Yeah," the producer said. Boebert paused, but then continued running up the steps of the Capitol.

First, Boebert claimed that there was no such thing as the debt ceiling and that it was all "fake news."

"Tomorrow's bill is a bunch of fake news and fake talking points that will do nothing to rein in out-of-control federal spending," she said.

"No excuses," Boebert said on June 3. " I was ticked off they wouldn't let me do my job, so I wouldn't take the vote. Once again, Washington's power machine shoved a multi-trillion-dollar bill down our throats, refused to allow debate or amendments, disregarded everything we fought for, in January to actually allow representatives to do their jobs, and instead, they served us up a crap sandwich."

She claimed that she simply refused to be part of it. In fact, she tried to be a part of it and then missed it.

As a fact check, there were 81 proposed amendments, and 14 of those were either co-sponsored or even introduced by Boebert.

As it turns out, she did show up for the vote.

When CNN released the video of her racing up the steps, it called her office to ask for an explanation for the Twitter claim that it was a "protest."

"A spokesperson responded by providing a link to Boebert’s Thursday statement, which outlined her opposition to the bill but did not substantiate her subsequent assertion in the social media video that she had missed the vote on purpose," said CNN.

“I certainly wasn’t afraid to vote against the bill, as I have been advocating against it all week,” Boebert said in the statement.

Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki dragged Bobert while subbing for Chris Hayes' show Monday night. "You snooze you lose," the screen said.

"I can't stop watching that," Psaki chuckled.

News 9 Denver's Kyle Clark did his own commentary on the matter Monday, saying that Bobert had a note put in the Congressional record that she missed the debt ceiling vote because she was "unavoidably detained."

"Now she's saying she skipped the vote on purpose as a protest," said Clark. "Both cannot be true and Boebert knows which one of her claims is a lie. Congresswoman Boebert often gets a pass from the media for making outrageous and false statements because she does it so often. That's not fair to the Coloradans in her district or to the elected officials who do not blatantly lie to voters. I can hear you saying, 'Oh, all politicians lie all the time.' Except they don't. We have covered countless conservatives and progressives and everywhere in between, politicians who strive to tell the truth every day. They don't all offer up obvious, clumsy lies that insult the intelligence of voters."

He closed by saying that if a politician makes something up they will always call them out, but it "doesn't give anyone else the license to lie, even if they make it part of their personal brand."

"Here's why this matters," Jon Cooper tweeted. "Yes, it exposes Lauren as incompetent. But it also exposes her as a LIAR. Because she CLAIMED her no-show vote was a form of protest because the bill was a "crap sandwich.” She was so smug and so proud in another video claiming that she skipped the vote because 'they wouldn't let me do my job.' Gee. I thought her job was to vote."

"Every time a new Lauren Boebert joke goes viral a bunch of MAGA dipsh-ts tell me they gonna boycott my movies," said Liam Nissan™. The Twitter user's name is Liam and he drives a Nissan car. He is not the actor.

Jen Psaki Airs Video of Lauren Boebert Being Told She’s Too Late to Cast Vote: ‘I Can’t Stop Watching That’
    By Michael LucianoJun 5th, 2023, 9:03 pm

MSNBC’s Jen Psaki had a grand old time watching footage of Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) frantically running up the Capitol steps to vote against a bill, only to learn voting had already closed.

Last week, the House and Senate passed a bill that suspends the debt ceiling for two years and imposes stricter work requirements for welfare recipients. Boebert vociferously announced her intention to vote against the measure. However, after the congresswoman failed to cast a vote, she claimed she did so as a protest against the legislation.

But video posted on Twitter shows that Boebert actually intended to vote.

Filling in for Chris Hayes on Monday’s All In, Psaki explained the mini-drama.

“So, it seemed a bit strange when Lauren Boebert just didn’t show up at all to vote on Wednesday,” she said. “Over the weekend, the [congresswoman] posted a video claiming she skipped the vote in protest.”

Psaki aired a clip of Boebert on Twitter claiming why she did not vote.

“I was ticked off they wouldn’t let me do my job,” Boebert said. “So I didn’t take the vote. Once again, Washington’s power machine shoved a multi-trillion dollar bill down our throats, refused to allow debate or amendment, disregarded everything we fought for in January to actually allow representatives to do their jobs.”

She called the bill “a crap sandwich.”

“But as it turns out, that doesn’t seem to be actually what happened,” Psaki said. “A Capitol Hill producer caught Lauren Boebert on tape frantically running into the building Wednesday evening – too late to vote.”

She showed the clip, posted on Twitter by CNN’s Morgan Rimmer.

It shows Boebert running up the steps when Rimmer says, “They just closed it.”

“They closed it?” Boebert asks, almost in disbelief.

“Yeah,” Rimmer tells her, as Boebert continues running up the steps.

“I can’t stop watching that,” Psaki said. “And Boebert actually admitted that she was late and missed the vote on the congressional record saying that she was ‘unavoidably detained.'”

Lauren Boebert sued for defamation in federal court by activist

A North Carolina political activist filed a defamation lawsuit against U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert of Silt in federal court Thursday.

Plaintiffs David Wheeler, who last year publicized information about Boebert in an effort to derail her reelection bid, and the super PAC American Muckrakers claim that Boebert defamed Wheeler by falsely accusing him of defaming her.

Boebert and “John Does,” to be named later, are identified as defendants.

The complaint, filed against the Republican in U.S. District Court of Colorado, alleges that Boebert made “maliciously false statements” about Wheeler and American Muckrakers, of which he is president, on multiple occasions last summer, particularly during broadcasts of TV and radio host Sean Hannity’s shows.

Wheeler in March told Newsline he was considering whether to identify Boebert-aligned media entities, such as Fox News and Hannity, as defendants. Hannity is discussed extensively in Wheeler’s complaint and is alleged to have provided a platform for and amplified false assertions made by Boebert.

    Fox personality
Tomi Lahren is also singled out in the complaint as having provided a platform for Boebert to allegedly defame Wheeler.

Newsline requested a comment from Boebert’s office but had not received a reply at the time of publication.

Wheeler previously brought a similar lawsuit against Boebert in a North Carolina state court last year, but the judge dismissed the case, saying that the proper venue for it was in Colorado.

American Muckrakers last year exposed unflattering information about former Republican U.S. Rep. Madison Cawthorn of North Carolina and is credited with helping to turn voters against the representative, who lost his primary bid.

The group then targeted Boebert. Wheeler and Muckrakers, citing sources close to Boebert, published information about Boebert that appeared to run counter to her political stance against abortion, among other allegations. The most notable release of information came in a June 14 press release that attracted national media attention.

The group’s claims about Boebert in some cases lacked corroborating evidence or were shown to be false. But Wheeler stands by his main allegations against Boebert, and the lawsuit notably asserts that “Boebert was aware that she had” worked as a paid escort, had two abortions, and used illegal drugs, even as she accused Wheeler and Muckrakers of publishing “false statements knowing they were completely fabricated,” characterized the statements as “defamation,” and said she was “moving forward with a lawsuit.”

Boebert never followed through with her threat to sue Wheeler and Muckrakers.

A key difference between the Colorado and North Carolina lawsuits is that the case filed Thursday invokes Colorado’s anti-SLAPP law. Enacted in 2019, the statute, concerning strategic lawsuits against public participation, protects Coloradans who exercise free speech rights from meritless lawsuits. Wheeler claims Boebert’s threats of litigation are subject to sanction under Colorado’s anti-SLAPP law, and he wants the suit to help develop case law around the statute.

“This case is filed in part to extend existing precedent establishing the meaning of Colorado’s law so that it provides the protection intended by our legislators in enacting the statute for the protection of citizens’ rights as plaintiffs as well as defendants,” the suit says.

Wheeler and his attorney, Dan Ernst, who is based in Denver and specializes in defamation, have communicated through letters and email with legal counsel and other representatives for Fox News and Hannity, according to copies of the communication obtained by Newsline from a source familiar with the matter.

According to the communication, Wheeler and Ernst indicated that their dispute with Fox News could be resolved if the company retracted allegedly defamatory statements about Wheeler and allowed him to appear on Hannity’s show “to correct the record,” as Ernst put it in a letter to Steven P. Mandell, outside counsel to Fox and Hannity. Mandell in a March 19 letter to Wheeler flatly rejected the proposal and wrote that “there is no merit to any of your claims.”

Wheeler in a March 20 email addressed to Fox’s top brass, including founder Rupert Murdoch and Fox Corporation CEO Lachlan Murdoch, as well as Hannity, Wheeler repeated the proposal in colorful terms: “What do you say about a good ol’ western shoot-out between Boebert and me on Sean’s show as a friendly way to resolve this and avoid f***ing lawyers, and courts?”

Mandell again rebuffed Wheeler’s request to appear on Hannity’s show in an April 5 letter to Ernst.

Wheeler’s lawsuit comes less than two months after Fox agreed to pay Denver-based Dominion Voting Systems $787.5 million in a defamation case. He is asking the court to award him an unspecified amount in damages.

When a despicable does it, it's politics.
When a deplorable does it it's criminal.

Isn't this the family tradition? Want Lauren herself born when her mother was 17 or 18? Didn't Lauren also question her own paternity, after her mother gave her the name of her father? And Lauren was calling her mother a slut because she had another test done and it came up negative?

Yeah, gotta love these Christian values these people hold.

Or maybe they just can't afford it...

LOL! Going lower? Yeah right! Anyone having an abortion is none of your business. Or maybe you can explain how it effects your life directly?

You're hardly one to judge others! Hell, you claim to be from another planet...

So, doing something to clean up the planet and the messes we've made is NOT appreciating "this incredible world God has given us."

I'm gonna guess she doesn't think before she speaks.

LOL! Right on cue! The space alien with platitudes strikes again.

No matter, I'm not your representative, and I'm not the one who lied about her missing the debt vote, and claimed it was in protest. A real protest would have been too actually vote no on it... But I'm sure you believe your representative wholeheartedly! What defense would you offer her to get out of this conundrum she has crafted for herself?

Its just another example of these treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans going around thumping on the bible have never read it. The Bible says God gave humans dominion over the earth and says to take care of it.

It's always someone else's fault, right? Wouldn't it be more of a protest to actually take the vote and vote no? If she were in the house Chambers, how could anyone prevent her from doing her job? Just another poor lame excuse for why she missed.

And it was your mother that put the allegation out there! Guess she has mommy issues as this would indicate that even her mother doesn't remember who her father is.

Or maybe it's because of Lauren's "do as I say, not as I do" mandates for others.
