A criminal justice reform advocate who helped pass sweeping changes to the criminal code including reducing sentences for those convicted of crimes in Washington, D.C., was shot and killed in the city last Tuesday, just hours before the city council passed the bill.

Kelvin Blowe, 32, worked as a policy and advocacy associate at DC Justice Lab and testified before the DC city council about reforming the city's justice system.

Around 5:25 a.m. on Nov. 15, he was on the way home from his job as a security guard when he was shot and killed in the southeastern part of the city.

"It's kind of hard to put into words what it feels like to see his work come to fruition without being able to share in that celebration with him," Patrice Sulton, Executive Director DC Justice Lab, told Fox 5 DC. "In some ways the timing of it is an added injury on top of the loss. And I think we lost a really powerful voice in a really important movement and that's not something that we'll be able to replace."

The city council passed the criminal justice overhaul hours after his death. If it is signed by Mayor Muriel Bowser, then it will get rid of most mandatory minimum sentences, expand who is eligible for jury trials, and reduce maximum penalties for burglaries, carjackings and robberies, according to the Washington Post.

Blowe, a Marine Corps veteran, struggled with PTSD and drugs after getting out of the military, leading to a 66-month prison sentence. His time behind bars inspired him to help others navigate society after being incarcerated.

"We have to learn to love each other and bring the city together – that's what my nephew was trying to do," Rev Keith Johnson, Blowe's uncle who helped raise him and his brothers, told Fox 5 DC.

DC police said Monday that there have been no developments in the investigation into Blowe's killing.

 

In blue state Colorado, where crime rates are skyrocketing a whack job shot up an LGBTQ night club, killing 5 and injuring 25.

 

That kind of thing happens in Chicago every day.... As of November 21st 2022 there have been 620 people murdered in Chicago. And the year is not over yet...

In 6 years the city has had 212 mass shootings. That works out to about 1 every 2 weeks.
Not every day. Every 14 days or so.

One of the highest (if not the highest) mass shooting records in the nation. But lets give mayor Lightfoot and her administration credit, they got 2 convictions so far.

 

We can be sure over 1,000 former Chicago residents would appreciate anon setting the record straight, eh?

Social reform and social welfare spending has never reduced the crime rate. The way to fight crime is not to fight poverty; it is to fight criminals. More punishment = less crime.

Antifa members are promising a night of violence on Friday in response to Twitter’s recent crackdown on their various accounts. Elon Musk’s businesses are their main target, with Tesla dealerships in Portland being on the hit list

The threats emerged after Musk began enforcing Twitter’s policies on harassment and violence fairly, leading to several prominent Antifa accounts being banned from the social media site.

Portland Antifa are planning arson attacks at Tesla locations on Friday night after Twitter owner Elon Musk started suspending accounts that call for violence.

The Post Millennial Editor-at-Large Andy Ngo tweeted, “As revenge for @elonmusk suspending violent extremist accounts on Twitter, #Antifa in Portland are organizing arson attacks on @tesla locations tonight. This is just a drop in the ocean of years of violent organizing on Twitter.”

Ngo points to Twitter user AshRedacted, whose profile states he uses “he/they” pronouns and identifies as an “Anarchist.”

AshRedacted posted, “Tonight in Portland! Every city, every town! Show up at your local Tesla dealerships in protest of Elon Musk! This will be a thread with other flyers that pop up and other notable Tesla locations across the so called ‘US’.”

For years, one of the worst parts of Twitter was how unevenly the TOS was applied. If you had an account on that was right-leaning, even non-violations of the rules would lead to a permenant suspension. That often happened when a conservative would question a prevailing Democrat narrative, whether on the origins of COVID-19 or the Hunter Biden laptop.

Meanwhile, leftwing accounts that actually called for violence were consistently ignored. Over the last summer, a group called “Jane’s Revenge” continually used Twitter to organize attacks on pro-life individuals in public. Despite them being reported thousands of times, their account was never banned. For years before that, Antifa accounts became notorious for posting their plans to commit violence, using the platform to deliver calls to action.

Finally, under Musk’s leadership, things have changed, with leftwing accounts being subject to the rules for the first time in recent memory. And what happens when a bunch of spoiled brats stop getting their way? They lash out, and that’s what they are promising to do with fire-bombing attacks on Tesla dealerships in Portland on Friday night.

Will they actually follow through, or is this one big temper tantrum from a bunch of cowards? I can’t say, but I welcome any situation which puts these lunatics in the position of having to back up their rhetoric. If they want a revolution, let’s see them try. They might even push the line so far that even the Portland police might have to respond. A few long prison sentences might put an end to this nonsense once and for all.

Regardless, I doubt Musk is sweating about this. If these Antifa goons want to play into their own downfall, I say let them. It’s all fun and games when you’re blocking traffic and shouting at people. I’m interested to see how they respond when the stakes are raised.

Five Arrested at 'Antifa Autonomous Zone' for Domestic Terrorism

Radical leftists have been occupying what some have called an “Antifa Autonomous Zone” at the site of a planned police training center in Georgia for months. They were objecting to the building of what they called “Cop City” and living in “makeshift treehouses.”

But that wasn’t all.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), the group had been responsible for a reign of terror in the area for months. The GBI said the group had been involved in carjacking, various crimes against persons, destruction of property, arson, and attacks against public safety officials, including the police and EMT workers.

In one instance, they allegedly attacked Richard Porter and almost burned him alive. Porters said they threw things at him, including a “gas bomb.” He fled, leaving his truck behind which was burned out. Porter told the channel: “It seemed to me like they were going to burn the truck with me in it.”

In May, Atlanta police arrested eight protesters accused of tossing Molotov cocktails at officers escorting construction workers to the site of the facility, and the FBI was on scene amid a “concerted effort” by actors from at least seven other states committing criminal acts to stop the build.

Finally, the GBI put an end to it, arresting five people this week who were at the site and charging them with domestic terrorism and other charges. When the police cleaned out the area where the leftists had been, they found explosive devices, gasoline, and road flares.

Andy Ngo identified some of the people in this thread. Their zone said, “You are now leaving the USA” and you can see some of them in black hoods.

The people who were arrested came from all over, with only one from Georgia.

Francis Carroll, a 22-year-old from Maine, was charged with criminal trespass, domestic terrorism, aggravated assault, felony obstruction, interference with government property and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

Nicholas Olson, a 25-year-old from Nebraska, was charged with domestic terrorism, aggravated assault, interference with government property and obstruction.

Serena Hertel, a 25-year-old from California, was charged with criminal trespassing, domestic terrorism, aggravated assault, obstruction and inciting a riot.

Leonardo Vioselle, 20, from Macon, Georgia, was charged with criminal trespass, domestic terrorism and possession for tools of the crime.

Arieon Robinson, a Wisconsin 22-year-old, was charged with criminal trespass, obstruction and domestic terrorism.

Carroll was from affluent Kennebunkport, Maine, the same town where the Bush family lives.



But the friends of the “protesters,” claimed that they were just “peacefully holding the forest space right now” and were angry that the police shot pepper balls and gas at them when they arrested them.

Sorry, guys, attacking the police and throwing gas bombs at people isn’t “peacefully” holding anything, not to mention that you have no right to be there, to begin with. Finally — likely because it’s Georgia — it sounds like they’re charging leftist radicals with something that has some teeth and sounds on target. We’ve seen so many commit all kinds of violence and get off scot-free, it’s become unusual to see real action like this taken, although it obviously took a while, likely because they are leftists. So where is the liberal national media reporting on this? Where are the Democrats calling this out? Mostly crickets.

 

This is curious! I've read five other articles about this and none of them mentioned antifa...

But that's the beauty in vilifying them, because the members are anonymous, is easy for them to be painted as antifa without evidence.
