The Rise of the Left’s Violent, Fascist Antifa
Its destruction is incompatible with a society governed by the rule of law.

    By Rachel Alexander

Law enforcement says they haven’t seen violence like this since the 1960s. The left-wing anarchist group Antifa is escalating its violence around the country against people and movements they consider pure evil. Antifa considers their targets “the living embodiment, they are the second coming of Hitler,” in the words of one member.

The group says it wants to stop “fascists.” Antifa “is any group that’s willing to stand up against fascists by any means necessary,” said one activist interviewed by CNN.

This includes the white supremacists and neo-Nazis it calls the “alt-right,” but the group also directs its violence at conservatives. In fact Antifa’s enemy is really anyone who is not left wing. They want “to take on government and capitalism” as well as the alt-right, said CNN’s reporter.

Patriot Prayer organizer Joey Gibson being attacked by Antifa at a rally in Berkeley:

First he catches a slap in the head, then someone gashes him with something in his ribs. He keeps his hands up, as though that will save him, while he keeps getting dragged backwards by his shirt, Tiny trying to pull him away from the bloodthirsty ninjas. Someone crashes a flagpole smack on Joey’s head, which will leave a welt so big that Tiny later calls him “the Unicorn.”

Not wishing to turn his back on the crowd, a half-speed backwards chase ensues, as Joey and Tiny are blasted with shots of bear spray and pepper spray. They hurdle a jersey barrier, crossing Martin Luther King Jr. Way while antifa continue throwing bottles at them.

The mob stalks Joey and Tiny all the way to an Alameda County police line. … No arrests are made. Except for Joey and Tiny, who are cuffed.

    The Weekly Standard

For example, Joey Gibson, the half-Japanese organizer of Patriot Prayer rallies. Although he preaches “freedom, spirituality, unity, peace, and patriotism,” Antifa has attacked him many times and vandalized his car. It threatens his rallies with violence.

Fascist, alt-right? No. Patriot Prayer’s leadership and most of its speakers are nonwhite. They denounce white supremacists. The group recently posted a call to prayer on Facebook that went: “Praying Via Facebook live at 8pm in 5 min. Atheist, christian, gay, straight, conservative, or liberal- forget your labels and come help free Portland.”

Will Johnson, foreground, speaks next to Joey Gibson at a news conference held by the group Patriot Prayer in Pacifica, Calif, Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017.

    Black Bloc Violent Anarchists
Antifa activists often dress head to toe in black, masking their faces. This is known as Black Bloc. They do this to hide their faces from the police in order to evade arrest.

Scott Crow, a longtime Antifa organizer, says the masks give them the ability “to move more freely and do what we need to do, whether it is illegal or not.” Some already have criminal records and don’t want the police to recognize them. Others don’t want to be recognized since they are paid protesters who travel around the country showing up at protests and rallies.

Antifa’s “by any means necessary” includes extreme violence. Antifa says it can use violence to “stop hatred.” Crow admits,”I’ve drawn guns on fascists.” He justifies violence by saying, “Don’t confuse legality and morality.”

Last year in June at a Trump rally in San Jose, Antifa punched and threw eggs at people leaving a Trump rally. An editor of the Antifa website It’s Going Down told Vice that violence is “fun.” Activists train together in martial arts classes. They carry clubs and sticks.

The destruction of other people’s property is a major Antifa tactic. One Antifa member told CNN, “There’s no such thing as violence against windows.” Last February in Berkeley, Antifa smashed windows and threw Molotov cocktails, starting fires.

Antifa claims its name stands for anti-fascism, but some believe it is really Orwellian named.

    [IMG]Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images
White nationalists, neo-Nazis, the KKK and members of the ‘alt-right’ attack each other during the melee outside Emancipation Park during the Unite the Right rally August 12, 2017 in Charlottesville, Virginia. They are difficult to distinguish between.

    Antifa Squelches Free Speech
In response to a white supremacist rally in Sacramento in June 2016, Antifa activists planning a counter-event declared, “No Free Speech for Fascists! … Their rally must be stopped by any means necessary.” Sure enough, they violently attacked the white supremacists at the rally, carrying “Stand Against Hate” signs. They told CNN their goal is “peace and inclusivity.”

Antifa has forced the cancellation of several conservative events. It got the 82nd Avenue of Roses Parade in Portland, Oregon shut down in April. The group threatened to “rush into the parade” and “drag and push” those marching with the GOP. On August 27, Antifa beat unarmed conservatives who showed up to a canceled “Say No To Marxism” rally in Berkeley.

Antifa violently protested Trump’s inauguration. The Trump administration is now looking into websites that recruited them.

    Charlottesville Brings Antifa to Prominence
Police allowed Antifa to face off against a neo-Nazi rally in Charlottesville last month. Homeland Security alerted officials in advance that “an escalating series of clashes had created a powder keg that would likely make the event ‘among the most violent to date’ between white supremacists and anarchists.”

Yet the police failed to show up in riot gear. They sent a small number of officers to handle the rally. At times, they failed to separate the clashing sides. At one point, police led the neo-Nazis straight into a group of Antifa.

The violent clashes resulted in the death of a young woman. A neo-Nazi ran his car into a group of protesters, running her over. The Charlottesville City Council has demanded that the city manager provide an explanation for the “apparent unwillingness of officers to directly intervene during overt assaults captured in many videos.”

    An Escalating Problem
The left is starting to adopt the “radical ideals” promoted by the group.

Antifa’s dangerous tactics are becoming mainstream. Antifa organizer Scott says the left is starting to adopt the “radical ideals” promoted by the group. They’ve made inroads into the “disenfranchised peaceful progressive movement.” An organizer of the website It’s Going Down, a newsblog for Antifa, observed, “There’s a crisis among the left, and they’re looking for alternatives outside of party structures. The anarchist movement is one that’s working outside structures. … People are excited about that.”

Conservative talk show host Laura Ingraham recommends labeling Antifa a terrorist organization. State legislatures around the country are passing laws prohibiting masks during gatherings. Antifa shows no signs of slowing down. The group describes itself as anarchists. Its destruction is incompatible with a society governed by the rule of law.

    A Mirror Image
For a group set up to oppose “fascists,” Antifa has failed to offer any alternative. Its anarchism justifies violent protest that’a nearly a mirror image of the white supremacists and neo-Nazis it opposes. As conservative filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza writes, “The so-called ‘antifascist’ movement in America today bears a strange resemblance to the very fascism it purports to combat.”

Like the original fascists in Italy and then Germany, Antifa hates the idea of free speech for others. The Atlantic observes, “Antifascists have granted themselves the authority to decide which Americans may publicly assemble and which may not.”

D’Souza writes: “When we see masked Antifa protesters in black, carrying weapons, disrupting public events and blocking speakers from campus, this looks more like fascism than its opposite.” All they do is strengthen the alt-right and make more people sympathize with it. Maybe that’s the point.

So, a cop who happens to be a preacher calls for the government to put a segment of the population he doesn't like to death is not a call for violence?

As far as I'm concerned, this guy is just as bad because he is using religion to justify his personal hatred. This guy is forgetting one of the fundamental teachings of Jesus. Let he who be without sin cast the first stone.

The biggest threat to the security of the US is the rise of right-wing groups that are more than willing to use violence to get their message across. These people feel that their way of life is being threatened by immigrants, Muslims etc. All of this hatred and paranoia on the right is fuelled by propaganda media like Fox News and other outlets and is given legitimacy by a President who enjoys the support of extreme right wing groups.

Latinos For Trump Lost Its Event Venue After Antifa Called Them Racist

Latinos for Trump is the latest organization to be targeted by Antifa.

    Jun 20, 2019
    By

    Tom Pappert
    [IMG]

Latinos for Trump planned to hold an educational leadership and activism conference in Woodlands, Texas this weekend, and lost their event venue after local Antifa groups labelled the Hispanic supporters of President Donald Trump as racist and the local media piled on.

The group of Hispanic Trump supporters explained to Big League Politics that they have been labelled as white supremacists who are engaged in the next red scare by the local media, and harassed by local Antifa groups.

According to Bianca Gracia, vice president of Latinos for Trump, Antifa began calling the event venue’s insurance company and complaining that violent white supremacists would be using the facility, likely resulting in violence that the insurance company would have to cover. At the same time, Houston Press released an article lambasting Latinos for Trump, and the pro-America Texans United For America group, quoting a known member of Antifa who lost his job as a professor for being too radical.

This led the insurance company to renege on its contract with Latinos for Trump, leaving the group scrambling to inform attendees of a new, undisclosed location for its leadership training, forum on human trafficking, firearm training, and social media activism seminars.

Houston Press repeatedly quoted Dr. David Michael Smith, of Houston United Front Against Fascism, in its article. Speaking to Big League Politics, Gracia and her counterpart Jen Loh, the Texas State Director of Latinos for Trump and the president and co-founder of Texans United For Amerca, explained that Smith has repeatedly made ominous Facebook posts and that his activists have previously attended Texans United For America events armed with rifles, at times pointing the guns at other attendees.

On the Houston United Against Fascism Facebook page, run by Smith, he recently asked users to call the organization if they “need help dealing with fascists or other white supremacists”, leading Gracia and Loh to believe this may be an implied threat of violence.

Gracia also explains that the article is entirely inaccurate, as it claims Latinos for Trump and Texans United For America are partnering with a group they have never had contact with, and know nothing about.

Houston Press also claims individuals including Joey Gibson, of the Patriot Prayer group, and several other speakers at the Latinos for Trump conference, are known to associate with white supremacists without providing evidence.

Loh says she was not contacted by Houston Press prior to publication of the article, while Gracia says she was contacted and asked probing questions aimed at making her, a Latina, sound racist.

According to Gracia, Houston Press gave preferential treatment to the Antifa organization that has “doxxed me, threatened my 10-year-old child, and posted pictures of my children’s school” to intimidate her.

Allen West, who serves as a military advisor to Latinos for Trump, wrote on his website that “This is what the progressive socialist left wants. They want complete ideological domination, totalitarian control, actually, no different from what we see happening in China.”

Regardless of the threats and media smears, Gracia says she has already found another venue for the Latinos for Trump event.

“We’re going to move this event somewhere our patriots will be safe,” said Gracia.

Armed Militias Pledge to Fight for Fugitive Oregon GOP Lawmakers ‘At Any Cost’
    [IMG]
Right-wing militia groups across the Pacific Northwest are mobilizing to prevent Oregon state police from arresting Republican state senators who went into hiding on Thursday in order to prevent climate change legislation from passing.

All 11 of Oregon’s Republican state senators are currently on the lam, with some leaving for Idaho in an effort to deny the Democrat-controlled state senate a quorum to pass a cap-and-trade bill. In response, Oregon Governor Kate Brown (D), citing a provision in the state constitution that allows the state to “compel” absent lawmakers to attend legislative sessions, dispatched state troopers to bring them back.

One of the lawmakers on the lam, Republican Brian Boquist (R), warned that he would resort to violence rather than return to the state, implying in a local television interviewthat he would attack law enforcement officers sent to retrieve him.

“Send bachelors and come heavily armed,” Boquist said. “I’m not going to be a political prisoner in the state of Oregon. It’s just that simple.”

Militia groups in the Pacific Northwest—a hotbed of far-right extremist activism—claim they’ve mobilized to protect those state senators.

“We’re doing what we can to make sure that they’re safe and comfortable,” said Eric Parker, the president of militia group Real Three Percenters Idaho, adding that the Idaho militias are in touch with their Oregon counterparts about the senators.

In a Facebook post, Paul Luhrs, a member of the Oregon III%er militia, said the militia had “vowed to provide security, transportation and refuge for those Senators in need.”

“We will stand together with unwavering resolve, doing whatever it takes to keep these Senators safe,” Luhrs wrote.

Border Militias Use Facebook Live to Turn Immigrant Confrontations Into ‘Reality TV’

This isn’t the first time state lawmakers of either party have fled their states to deny their rivals a quorum. In 2003, Texas Democrats left the state to avoid a vote on redistricting legislation, while Democratic lawmakers in Wisconsin fled in 2011 to block Republican cuts to union rights. But what makes the current standoff in Oregon unique is the offers of help from militias—and the threats by at least one of those lawmakers to shoot police himself.

Despite the offers, it’s not clear whether any of the Republican senators are actually in contact with the militia groups or have received help from them. Senate Minority Leader Herman Baertschiger Jr., who fled the state with the rest of the senate Republican caucus, didn’t respond to requests for comment. Parker declined to comment about whether his group has been in contact with the senators themselves.

One source inside the Oregon militia movement told The Daily Beast that their members were “willing to put their own lives in front of these senators’ lives.” The source claimed that dozens of armed militia members have “mobilized” to protect the state senators, and said there was potential for violence if law enforcement officials try to bring the senators back to Oregon. The source added that the militias would defend the Republicans “at any cost.”

“All of these people are armed,” the source said.

The militia mobilization has drawn in members of the III%ers, the Oath Keepers, and independent militia groups from outside the state, according to the militia source. The III%ers derive their name from their belief that only 3 percent of colonists were involved in the American Revolution, while the Oath Keepers claim to be veterans and law enforcement officers who have vowed not to violate their “oaths.”

Parker, the Idaho militia leader, compared the fugitive state senators to the far-right activists who engaged in an armed stand-off with federal agents at the Bundy Ranch in Nevada in 2014.

“We see it the same as we saw the protesters in the wash at the Bundy Ranch,” Parker said.

This isn’t the first time Oregon has seen militias “mobilize” for political ends. In 2016, militia members, led by members of Nevada’s Bundy family who argued that the land should be open for private use, briefly seized Oregon’s Malheur National Wildlife Refuge.

Militias are often trying to attach themselves to mainstream political causes in an attempt to win over new supporters, according to John Temple, the author of Up in Arms, a new book on the Bundys and the Malheur occupation. Temple said the fleeing legislators have the potential to attract support from across the militia movement nationwide, especially after Boquist boasted about attacking police.

“They are public officials and carry some weight, yet they are talking like they are straight out of the Malheur occupation,” Temple said.

White supremacist who killed woman after driving car into Charlottesville protesters begs judge to show him ‘mercy’

The self-avowed white supremacist who ploughed his car into protesters opposing a far-right rally in Virginia two years ago, killing one person and injuring dozens of others, has asked a judge for mercy and a sentence shorter than life in prison.

James Alex Fields Jr’s legal team has argued in a new sentencing memo that the 22-year-old defendant should not spend his entire life in prison because of his age, a traumatic childhood and a history of mental illness.

Fields has pleaded guilty to federal hate crimes in relation to the Charlottesville attack and is set to be sentenced on 28 June.

“No amount of punishment imposed on James can repair the damage he caused to dozens of innocent people. But this Court should find that retribution has limits,” his attorneys wrote in a court document submitted on Friday.

Fields’ attorneys said that giving him something less than a life sentence would be akin to an “expression of mercy” and a “conviction that no individual is wholly defined by their worst moments”.

The attorneys highlighted his difficult upbringing and history of mental illness, but many of the details were redacted. The document did reveal he was raised by a paraplegic single mother and suffered “trauma” by growing up knowing his Jewish grandfather had murdered his grandmother before committing suicide.

In their own sentencing memo, prosecutors said Fields had shown no remorse since he drove the car into the counter-demonstrators on 12 August, 2017, killing anti-racism activist Heather Heyer and injuring others protesting against the white nationalists.

They argued that Fields deserves a life sentence, adding that would help deter others from committing “similar acts of domestic terrorism”.

Prosecutors focused on years of documented racist and antisemitic behaviour by Fields, which they said included keeping a picture of Adolf Hitler on his bedside table. They also said that he was recorded on a jail phone call making disparaging remarks about Ms Heyer’s mother as recently as last month.

They also argued that while Fields has a history of mental illness issues, it did not excuse his behaviour in a way that would demand a lenient sentence. “Any mental health concerns raised by the defendant do not overcome the defendant’s demonstrated lack of remorse and his prior history of substantial racial animus,” prosecutors wrote.

Under a plea deal, federal prosecutors agreed not to pursue the death penalty against Fields after he pleaded in March to federal hate crime charges and admitted that he intentionally drove his car into a crowd of anti-racism protesters.

The charges he pleaded guilty to call for life in prison under federal sentencing guidelines.

In December last year he was convicted in a Virginia court of first-degree murder and other state charges for killing Ms Heyer and injuring others who were protesting. Sentencing on the state charges is scheduled for next month.

The 2017 rally drew hundreds of white nationalists to Charlottesville to protest the planned removal of a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee. Hundreds of counter-protesters demonstrated against the white nationalists.

Donald Trump infamously said there were “very fine people on both sides” of the clashes in the Virginia city.

REVEALED: Anti-Gay Facebook Past of Right Wing Watch’s Jared Holt

A 2009 Facebook post from Right Wing Watch’s Jared Holt shows anti-gay remarks made by the the now-champion of “progressive” values.

“You are a F-R-E-S-H-M-A-N .. not a ‘freshie’ – shut up, you sound like a queer,” Holt said in the post.

The post has made the rounds in conservative online circles.

Holt calls himself an “investigative reporter” for Right Wing Watch, a project of the uber-left nonprofit People for the American Way. His job essentially boils down to ascribing Naziism and bigotry to prominent right-wing figures and groups.

In public, he appears to be a defender of LGBT rights.

“I don’t enjoy these right-wing figures any more than the rest of y’all, but please do not respond to my stuff with jokes about folks being in the closet, performing oral sex on each other, etc. ‘They’re gay’ isn’t a punchline and that crap is toxic. Be better,” he said in a May Twitter post.

He also cited the Southern Poverty Law Center, which has internal bigotry problemsof its own, to deride the American Family Association as “anti-LGBTQ” and a “hate group” when it met with Walmart leaders in April:

.@Walmart (the world's largest company) is taking a meeting with an anti-LGBTQ hate group whose spokespeople have blamed LGBTQ people for train crashes, attempted to link LGBTQ activists to pedophilia, and repeatedly defended gay conversion therapy.http://www.rightwingwatch.org/post/walmart-grants-meeting-to-anti-lgbtq-hate-group/ …

But as usual, the holier-than-thou charade does not withstand any semblance of scrutiny.

Holt made the homophobic remark, among other disturbing comments, in a Facebook post deriding the incoming freshman class at his high school.

“Sex doesn’t make you cool and it won’t make upper-class boys think any higher of you,” Holt advised incoming female students. “So don’t go around bragging about it. No one cares and you look like an easy freshman whore. Just leave the slutty things you did in 8th grade, in middle school.”

“You are not cool. Everyone does hate you. You are annoying,” he said.

Holt did not return a comment request.

Charlottesville car rammer James Alex Fields sentenced to life in prison

Man pleads guilty to federal hate crimes in fatal Charlottesville incident

Charlottesville car rammer James Alex Fields sentenced to life in prison originally appeared on abcnews.go.com

The man convicted for ramming his car into a crowd during the "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville has been sentenced to life in prison.

James Alex Fields had his sentencing hearing in federal court in Virginia, in the same town where his 2017 car ramming led to the death of a counter-protester, Heather Heyer, and injured others.

Fields, who is now 22, already pleaded guilty to 29 of 30 federal hate crimes in March. The Associated Press reports that in part of the plea deal that he reached at the time, the prospect of a death sentence was removed.

Thomas Cullen, the U.S. Attorney for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia, called the car ramming a "hate-inspired act of domestic terrorism."

He said that in addition to Heyer, the lives of those who were injured "will never be the same." Cullen said Fields "deserved to spend the rest of his life in prison."

Susan Bro, Heyer's mother, said she agreed. Speaking at a press conference after the sentencing, Bro said she didn't want him to receive the death penalty even though "he probably deserved it, but it probably wouldn't accomplish anything."

Bro apologized "to the tax payers, for saddling you with this burden" by having Fields spend life in prison, "but it was the judge's call."

(MORE: What to know about the violent Charlottesville protests and anniversary rallies)

Fields reportedly issued an apology in the sentencing heating before his sentence was issued, but Bro didn't believe it.

"That was a last attempt to get a reduced sentence," she said. "He's the least sincere person I've ever met."

Both prosecutors and Fields' lawyers earlier determined that the federal sentencing guidelines suggest a life sentence, but the AP reported that last week his defense attorneys wrote a letter to the district judge asking for a sentence "less than life."

"No amount of punishment imposed on James can repair the damage he caused to dozens of innocent people. But this Court should find that retribution has limits," Fields' attorneys wrote, according to the AP.

Friday's sentencing in federal court is separate from state charges that he faces in connection to the same incident.

(MORE: Jury recommends life in prison plus 419 years for Charlottesville car attacker)

In the state case, a jury recommended a sentence of life plus 419 years, though a separate hearing on that sentence is scheduled for mid-July.

Cullen said it is an "undisputed fact" that white supremacism and hate crimes "are rising in this country, they have been for several years." As such, he hopes that Fields' sentence will "achieve a deterrence effect for the community at large."

"This was calculated. It was cold-blooded. It was motivated by this deep-seated racial animus... that was becoming more prevalent as he got older," Cullen said.

Bro, who now helps run a foundation established in her daughter's name said she is "very happy" with his sentence.

"I might be able to sleep tonight. I didn't sleep much last night," she said.

"I'm kind of done with him and I'm moving on with my life," she said. "I have things to do."

Fields, was being chased by a crowd of violent leftists, some of which have admitted to pointing guns at him, he panicked and slammed on the accelerator to flee and hit a car which hit a car which tapped a women who then had a heart attack. If he had turned his wheel 10 degrees a in rather direction he would have killed many people. The leftist narrative that he premeditatedly killed someone is flat out silly. James Fields is a sacrifice at the alter of their politics, he’s having his life taken away because he was trying to flee violent radicals who attacked many people that day and were pointing guns at him. What’s happening to him is a modern day lynching and I hope one day he’s set free from his political imprisonment

Keep believing that. Like the idiot claiming that spitting or a milkshake is equal to being run over or blown up by a right wing loser.
