Watch MSNBC’s Maddow powerfully takedown Fox News and the GOP’s anti-Semitism and racism in the midterms

MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow says that it is “decision time” for America with one week to go before the crucial midterm elections.

“The guy who carried out the synagogue murders in Pittsburgh had ranted online about the same migrant caravan that the president and conservative media have been stoking all this excitement about,” Maddow noted.

“Now, I don’t know if the suspect in the Pittsburgh massacre has TV access in jail, but since he allegedly committed the worst attack against the American Jewish community in the history of this country — saying he had to do it to stop this invasion of our country, that the Jews were facilitating — since he has been in jail, he probably likes what he has been seeing on TV, if he has access to TV,” she noted.

“Since the killings, the president has continued to echo the online claims by the suspected murderer about our country being invaded,” Maddow noted.

“The national Republican Party has also decided — since the massacre — to keep running an ad that depicts a Democratic congressional candidate as being secretly controlled by George Soros, Jewish billionaire who Fox News and President Trump have turned into a bogeyman for everything,” she continued. “But in particular, they’re regularly — all day long — blaming Soros for somehow supposedly secretly organizing that invasion.”

“Nothing about George Soros getting a pipe bomb last week who appears to have been a Trump superfan,” she continued.

“The Fox News Channel has now recently started claiming that these invaders are bringing disease, that they specifically have smallpox. they’re coming here to kill us all with smallpox and stuff,” Maddow noted.

Maddow had a solution to the upheaval.

“In every dark moment in American democracy — and we are in a dark moment right now — the vote is the way out,” she explained. “In a democracy, the solution to all of our problems, no matter how dark things get, is always to vote in a way that will change things.”

*Scarborough Likens Trump’s Immigration Fear-Mongering to Nazi Treatment of ‘Gypsies and Jews’

Desperate times call for desperate measures. But in today’s bitterly divided political world, the desperation is in the eyes of the beholder.

With the midterm elections less than a week away, Joe Scarborough took a tough look at the troubling trend of fear-mongering and otherization of undocumented immigrants from the Republican side of the aisle.

Yesterday, President Donald Trump floated the idea of using an executive order to end the 14th amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which would ostensibly end birthright citizenship for anyone born in the United States by parents who are not legal citizens.

This comes after weeks of fear-mongering rhetoric that has described a group of Central American migrants currently on the Mexico-Guatemala border who are described as “invaders” despite the fact that they are almost 1,000 miles away and are traveling by foot.

If you see Trump’s hard-line rhetoric – gleefully amplified by many pro-Trump programs on Fox News — as a craven and dangerous ploy to gin up support for the midterms, well then you’d be in accord with the assessment of Scarborough.

But the Morning Joe host went one further, comparing (though not by name) the scary political tactics to how Nazi Germany treated “gypsies and jews.”

“He’s been playing the racist card” he opened, adding, “He said I’m a nationalist. David Duke comes out the next day saying thank you. Thank you so much for finally admitting that you’re a white nationalist.”

Scarborough then listed the rhetorical supporters, saying “Then you have some Republican benchers that are linking George Soros and these anti-semantic threads to the caravan. You’ve got Fox News talking about smallpox and leprosy coming up.”

Apologizing, he then made this approach to an unnamed “regime from the 20th century” saying “might as well be certain countries talking about gypsies. It lines up historically with what people were talking about when they talked about gypsies and Jews.”

Nazi Germany included Gypsies as part of the Holocaust that led to the death of 6 Million Jews.

Now if you feel that comparing Trump to Nazi is unfair, please return to the lede of this blog post. Some are sure to see Scarborough’s line of thinking as the true desperation on display here.

WATCH: Rachel Maddow breaks down the implications of shocking national midterm poll results

MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow on Thursday explained the growing evidence that Tuesday’s midterm elections could be even closer than expected.

“If you are sensing a little tension, a little drama, a little frizzante of excitement about the election — as we’re just about five days out from the election … that is not just you projecting from your own internal levels of anxiety and stress,” she noted. “What you are sensing is a true thing that is measurable in the world, never more so than it is pleasurable tonight.”

Maddow reported on a new poll showing Democrat Stacey Abrams leading Republican Brian Kemp in the Georgia gubernatorial race by two-fifths of a single percentage point — 46.9 percent to 46.7 percent.

“That is incredible — five days out in a statewide race, five days out from the election — to be separated by zero-point-two percentage points,” she noted. “If neither of these candidates gets over 50 percent of the vote, Brian Kemp and Stacey Abrams will have to go to a runoff in December, so if neither one of them hits 50, we will not know who Georgia’s governor is going to be until next month.”

“But it’s not just there,” Maddow noted.

She also reported on a new CNN poll showing the Florida U.S. Senate race between Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) and Republican Gov. Rick Scott tied at 46 percent.

And a new Fox News poll showing Democrat Kyrsten Sinema and Republican Martha McSally also tied at tied at 46 percent in Arizona’s U.S. Senate race.

And she reported on a Fox News poll showing Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill and Republican Attorney General Josh Hawley tied at 45 percent in Missouri’s U.S. Senate race.

Then she noted “the best of all of them.”

“This is the Marquette University poll in that Wisconsin governor’s race, it now not only shows a tie between Scott Walker (R) and Tony Evers (D), not only shows them with each having 47% of the vote, that Marquette University poll literally found the exact same number of humans picking Tony Evers as Scott Walker,” she reported.

“It’s not a statistical tie, a margin of error — the exact same number of human respondents in that poll picked Tony Evers as picked Scott Walker,” Maddow explained.

History is a very strong predictor that despicables should handily take at least one house of congress, and given what a loser they claim Trump and the deplorables are, the senate should easily be theirs as well.

These close races seem to indicate the despicables may not take either house.

Ode to a source.

She was actually an old prostitute turned bar maid. The roughest bar in a pretty rough town. And nobody died on her shift. If she was behind the bar if the place was packed it was still just them against all 100 pounds of red headed her. She didn't wear ear rings. There were just slits in her earlobes where the earnings used to be.

And I had known her since I had sold her a crew car that was running on centrifugal force. But once I got in the newspaper business. She had stories to tell. But not like just telling stories. Oh no. It was real time stores of what was happening all over town. Who did what and when. Government, especially the police. Everything.

But never on the record or even close to it. And never revealing HER sources. She just told me the truth and where to look for it. And she was right every time.

And I will just tell you how right she was. Because I failed to believe it mysef.

One of our town officers had among other things threatened my life so let's just say we didn't have the best relationship with him or the police for that matter.

And I drop off my papers one morning and my source tells me my favorite cop and a dispatcher had been fired for violating police department rules. We don't care what you do as long as you don't do it in the cells and scare the prisoners."

Which I thought was a too good to be true joke.

When what she was trying to tell me is look left at the PD and notice the highway patrol car. And go up there and ask why? Because the deal was a highway patrolman that got called out on an accident about 3 am could not reach the town PD on the radio. And he thought something might have happened to them. So he stopped in and caught the officer and dispatcher fucking in the cell.

Instead I turned right because I didn't believe her. And for all the rest of the time I was in the newspaper business I never made that mistake again.

She had a network of sources long before I ever came along. Because everyone might think why would anyone trust a prostitute? Which was fine with her. Because the next thing she would prove to you is you CAN TRUST HER.

Oh fuck did I laugh my ass off watching this. And this story doesn';t really do it justice. The best part was when Trump talked Danny Tarkanian into dropping out of his primary race against Dean Heller in Nevada and then talked Tarkanian into running for the House, backed both of them to the hilt, and got two Democrats elected.

I have to agree with Maddow. For at least the past few months I have been getting notices from different groups saying we have to hit the streets and protest if Trump tries to make a move on Robert Mueller. But I didn't think they would amount to much. But there are already thousands of people hitting the streets to protest and I was really surprised to see how many different protests there are and how many people are at them.

MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow praised the civil engagement of Americans during one of the busiest weeks in American politics in recent history.

Maddow reported on the #ProtectMueller rallies occurring at more than 1,000 locations in all 50 states — showing images and video of the marches in town after town.

“So people out in the streets tonight, and that’s asking a lot of people, right, in terms of their civic engagement,” she noted. “Just this week — just two days ago — everybody had to freakin’ line up to vote, take time out of the day, in some cases take many hours out of the day to go vote on Tuesday,” the anchor noted.

“Everybody stayed up late on Tuesday night, watching the election returns come in,” she continued.

“Now it’s just two days later, and thousands of people are out in the streets,” she noted. “Over a thousand protests all around the country.”

“Sometimes citizenship requires overtime and double shifts,” Maddow concluded.

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow reveals the threats the new acting AG used in his ‘scam’ company to intimidate victims

On Friday night, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow detailed disturbing new allegations about a company new Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker worked with as a board member.

World Patent Marketing reportedly promised its customers it would patent and market their ideas and inventions — and then ran off with their money. The scam led to a Federal Trade Commission probe and a $25 million settlement, but as a Maddow noted, they did more than just allegedly defraud customers.

“According to the FTC, the other part of their scam is when their customers started to complain about having been defrauded, about having had all their money taken for nothing, about having been scammed, this company that Whitaker was a part of, World Patent Marketing, would then threaten their customers,” the host said.

Citing the FTC complaint, Maddow described “the blunt nature of some of the company’s threats to its disgruntled customers.”

WPM, the complaint read, sent customers a blog post about a would-be client who “was stopped, detained and expelled by [the company’s] intimidating security team, all ex-Israeli special ops and trained in Krav Maga, one of the most deadly of the martial arts.”

“The World Patent Marketing security team are the kinds of guys trained to knock out first and ask questions later,” the company’s braggadocious post continued.

The company would also “write threatening e-mails to customers who might be willing to complain about having been defrauded by the firm” — including one sent by Whitaker “in which he cited his status as a former U.S. Attorney and then threatened the disgruntled customer with ‘serious civil and criminal consequences if he dared to complain,'” the host noted.

Maddow added that MSNBC producers reached out to the Justice Department to determine whether the acting AG “has been advised by the FBI as to whether or not he personally is a target or subject of the FBI’s criminal investigation in this matter” and had not yet heard back.

MSNBC’s Mika says ‘doddering dictator wannabe’ Trump is ‘angry and out of it’ after Democrats gain power

MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski said President Donald Trump is reacting poorly to the Republican Party’s midterm losses, and she said his sullen behavior over the weekend in Europe is just one example.

The “Morning Joe” co-host said the president clearly fears losing some power to Democrats in the House of Representatives, and she dreads what he’ll do next.

“The behavior really shows to me, from knowing the man,” Brzezinski said, “the completely cornered, doddering dictator wannabe — that is the behavior that we’re seeing. He’s angry and out of it.”

Host Joe Scarborough said the president’s behavior during events marking 100th anniversary of the end of World War I was exactly what voters rejected in last week’s elections.

“He can’t afford to lose a single vote from 2016,” Scarborough said. “He already lost by almost 3 million votes. This is going in a very, very bad direction for the Republicans, as it has been for a very long time. The only difference is now Republicans actually have the evidence in front of them that voters reject this. We’ll see how they respond.”

MSNBC contributor Donny Deutsch said the president had been personally wounded by the election losses.

“Donald Trump’s brand to him has always been, more than anything, winning,” Deutsch said. “Roy Cohn taught him, even when you lose, you won. He lost last week, he has a big ‘L’ on his forehead. Donald Trump is now a loser.”

WATCH: Rachel Maddow explains why new Mueller filing means big news is coming soon

The host of “The Rachel Maddow Show” on MSNBC explained on Thursday why it appears there will be major developments in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation — in the next 10 days.

Maddow reported on a new filing by the special counsel concerning the case of former Donald Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

The special counsel’s office had a Friday deadline to update the overseeing judge on Manafort’s cooperation with investigators following his guilty pleas.

“And here’s the part that makes the ominous music start up in your head and that makes us put the red banner on the bottom of the screen,” Maddow said. “In this new report they just filed, Mueller’s prosecutors have just asked the judge to please give them 10 days before they tell the judge what’s up with Manafort’s case right now.”

“Ten days? That is very strange,” she noted. “They say they’re not going to make tomorrow’s deadline, they would like a 10 day extension.”

“That is unusual,” she added.

“What’s going to happen in the next 10 days that will give the court a better picture of how helpful Paul Manafort has been?” she wondered. “Something’s going to happen between now and 10 days from now that will allow them to be of greater assistance in the court’s management of this matter?”

“What’s going to happen in the next 10 days?” she asked.

“There is a palpable sense right now that this is the — this is the time we have been expecting, this is the thing for which we have all been reading up on our history,” she concluded.

‘He took crazy to 11’: MSNBC’s Morning Joe unloads on Trump’s weekend of ‘delusional dingbattery’

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough said President Donald Trump sank to new depths over the weekend with his comments about the California wildfires, the hunt for Osama bin Laden and the midterm elections.

The president suggested the fires were essentially a housekeeping issue, he attacked the military leaders who killed the notorious terrorist leader and insisted Republicans had not been dealt an election loss.

“What a weekend of Trumpisms,” said “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski.

“He took the Trumpisms and — some would say, not me — but some would say he took crazy to 11, if we want to borrow parlance from ‘Spinal Tap,'” Scarborough said. “Ten is loud, 10 is crazy — he turned it up to 11 on the dial. There’s so much to go through here. A lot of disturbing things, a lot of things just showing a guy even more out of touch than usual, if that’s even possible.”

National affairs analyst John Heilemann said Trump had three essential characteristics that explain most all of his bizarre behavior.

“Three possibilities,” Heilemann said. “One, delusional. Two, pathological liar. Three, political dingbat.”

“I’ve stopped trying to disentangle them,” he continued. “You know, yes, desperate, scared, frightened, realizing, I think, for the first time after — you know, this is not a new observation. Well, for a couple years you looked to Trump’s behavior and said he doesn’t seem to think about what will happen to him if he loses one or both houses of Congress in the midterms.

“He did a lot of irrational things over the course of the last two years,” Heilemann added. “We noted it at the time. It does feel as though, as it has for all of us only we all got there a little quicker, the scale of the defeat for the party, the depth of it, the breadth of it and the implications of it have finally sunk in, and the more they sink in for him the more he goes into delusional dingbattery.”

MSNBC’s Ali Velshi Shreds Trump for Pro-Saudi Statement on Khashoggi: It Sounds Like It Was ‘Written by a 7-Year-Old’

After the release of a statement by President Donald Trump siding with Saudi Arabia in the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, MSNBC’s Ali Velshi blasted the commander in chief for a weak message.

“First of all, it’s written like it’s written by a 7-year-old,” Velshi said Tuesday of the punctuation laden statement that argues the U.S. doesn’t really know what happened, despite intelligence findings it was arranged by the crown prince himself.

“It starts with America first with [an] exclamation mark, and then it talks about Iran. So there’s this distraction going on. As long as I can tell you bad things about Iran, then Saudi Arabia, which is an enemy of our enemy, must by definition be a friend.”

Velshi also slammed Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for focusing with Trump on American interests, calling that a “disingenuous” message and contending that Saudi Arabia relies more heavily on the U.S. than vice versa.

The anchor then wondered whether something was afoot between the Trump administration and the Saudis, seeing as it has continuously refused to accept the CIA’s findings that Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered Khashoggi’s killing.

“What is happening with Jared Kushner and Donald Trump and Mohammed bin Salman that you can’t acknowledge something everyone else in the world has figured out and the understanding that a thing like this couldn’t have happened…without…the son of the king, knowing about it?” Velshi asked.

Comcast responds to Linda Vester's claim NBC News hasn’t changed since Lauer's firing; Vester fires back

Linda Vester joins Tucker to talk about the state of harassment at NBC one year after Matt Lauer's firing.

Comcast, which owns NBCUniversal, responded Thursday to the claims of Linda Vester, a former NBC correspondent and former Fox News anchor, who said NBC News’ culture of sexual misconduct against women has barely changed in the year since the network fired Matt Lauer amid a cloud of disturbing harassment claims.

However, Vester soon fired back -- demanding "the real truth" behind the network's actions.

“Comcast NBCUniversal’s investigation was thorough, objective and conducted outside the News division. Kim Harris, NBCUniversal’s General Counsel, led this process with a team of legal and HR professionals who are independent of News,” Comcast said, as Variety reported. “In addition, we consulted with two prominent outside law firms — Proskauer Rose and Davis Polk — both of whom validated the investigation’s methodology, findings and conclusions. NBCUniversal issued a detailed report of the findings in May and since instituted new policies and procedures to further encourage reporting of complaints and provide increased training for employees and managers on workplace conduct.”

Vester responded to the Comcast statement with her own, through her group Silence Breakers Alliance: “Today’s statement by Comcast, which includes demonstrably untrue assertions, only underscores why it is critical that the board of directors step in now and get the real truth. The internal investigation was neither thorough nor objective, as evidenced by statements made by several of Matt Lauer’s victims that they were never interviewed. Likewise, several on-air personalities, including Ann Curry, have indicated they also were not interviewed, even though they too have information about Lauer and managers who allegedly covered for him.”

Linda Vester, a former NBC correspondent and former Fox News anchor, said Wednesday that NBC News’ culture of sexual misconduct against women has barely changed in the year since the network fired Matt Lauer amid a cloud of disturbing harassment claims.

The statement concluded: “It is bad enough that NBC News is being run by Andy Lack, who reportedly has been sexually inappropriate with and retaliated against subordinates in the past. It is worse that NBC Universal president Steve Burke is endorsing someone so compromised to run the news division. And it is appalling that Comcast CEO Brian Roberts would apparently authorize today’s statement. It’s a discredit to the 'family company' his father built. And it sends a chilling message to all of the NBC News victims that this corporation seems, in our judgment, to care more about silencing them and letting predators walk the halls at NBC News. Shame on Comcast. Directors, do your job and allow the truth to come out.”

Vester placed an ad in Thursday’s edition of The New York Times, calling on Comcast’s board of directors to end nondisclosure agreements and forced arbitration in sexual harassment cases, as Variety reported.

Vester said on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Wednesday night that NBC’s response was neither thorough nor honest. “The truth wasn’t in there,” she told Tucker Carlson, noting that NBC management cared more about the bottom line rather than the women who work there.

Vester also alleged she knows about two victims of misconduct from the 1980s by NBC News Chairman Andy Lack. She questioned whether this bombshell is the reason behind NBC’s smokescreen.

Vester told Carlson the issue with NBC needs to be dealt with at the top, by the board of directors of Comcast, which owns NBCUniversal. “They are directors of a publicly traded company. They are answerable to shareholders and the public,” she said. “This is a broadcaster that is regulated by the FCC. So these board of directors, they cannot get away with burying their heads in the sand. These are real women whose lives and careers and reputations are destroyed. They can’t ignore them.”

“How is that a family company?” she added, questioning Comcast’s ethics and morals.

Vester alleged in April that NBC anchor Tom Brokaw made unwanted advances toward her twice during the 1990s, including a move to forcibly kiss Vester, who was in her 20s at the time.

MSNBC’s Maddow Storms Ahead of Fox News in Ratings This Week

MSNBC is having a great week in the ratings.

Granted, Fox News won November, with ratings titan Sean Hannity marking his eighth consecutive month as the most watched show. But MSNBC has stormed ahead of his network this week, with Rachel Maddow winning every night in total viewers.

On Thursday night, Maddow had the most watched show in all of cable, notching a massive 3.407 million total viewers and 633,000 viewers in the key 25-54 demographic.

Lawrence O’Donnell‘s 10 p.m. show on MSNBC scored highly as well, right behind Maddow. Then came Fox News: Tucker Carlson was third, with 2.589 million total viewers and 456,000 in the demo, followed by Hannity, who notched 2.504 million viewers and 385,000 in the demo.

MSNBC’s Chris Hayes was close behind, in fifth place, and Laura Ingraham landed 10th.

It marks a strong showing for Maddow this week. She was number one in total viewers and the demo on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week as well. Other MSNBC shows, like Nicolle Wallace‘s Deadline: White House at 4 p.m., also leapfrogged Fox News.

Hannity still holds the ratings crown, however. He’s on track to ring in 2018 with the most watched show on cable news for the second year in a row. Fox News’s other shows excelled in November too, with Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham’s shows joining Hannity and The Five in the top five programs for the month.

Fox News personality Sean Hannity was hilariously mocked for his outburst following legal briefings showing his attorney “substantially cooperated” with the special counsel investigating Donald Trump.

In April, it was revealed that Hannity was the mysterious third client that Trump fixer Michael Cohen fought in court from being made public. In response, Hannity spent an hour yelling about James Comey.

Hannity’s attorney is awaiting a Friday sentencing memo detailing his cooperation with investigators and then will be sentenced on December 12. In response, Hannity suffered a meltdown on his radio show.

MSNBC anchor Ari Melber played a clip of Hannity instructing his followers, “Don’t talk to the FBI.”

Melber reminded viewers of Hannity’s past criticism of the “Stop Snitching” movement in what he described as “urban” communities.

“Now Hannity is telling people not to snitch,” Melber noted.

“What do you make of this drastic, public, hypocritical, obvious change of heart?” Melber asked Dr. Jason Johnson, politics editor at The Root.

“One of the main reasons Sean Hannity thinks he can do this is because he’s a rich white guy,” Johnson explained.

“If Sean Hannity wasn’t as knee deep in the muck and in the swamp he has railed against as much as he happens to be, he’d keep his mouth quiet right now,” Johnson argued. “But he’s not going to because just as dirty and guilty as the people he’s trying to defend.”

Joe Scarborough Laughs at Trump Getting Owned by Pelosi and Schumer: Like ‘Taking Candy from a Baby’

Like nearly every American that has watched the video from Tuesday’s remarkable Oval Office spat between President Donald Trump and the Democratic leadership of US Congress Rep. Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Chuck Schumer, Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough seemed to really enjoy it.

*The made-for-reality-tv moment appeared to backfire on the Commander in Chief, at least that appears to be the takeaway from Scarborough and the rest of the Morning Joe panel, though it must be noted that no one on this show has given Trump a win in some time.

Coming out of a clip of Trump’s owning of shutting down the government if he didn’t get funding for the border wall that was a campaign promise made (but not yet a promise kept!), Scarborough could not contain his laughter.

“The expression taking candy from a baby comes to mind,” Scarborough said, adding ” It was really — it was all too easy, wasn’t it?”

Scarborough noted that part of the reason this was such a compelling moment is that “this is the first time in Donald Trump’s life that he’s had people talking back to him that people had had political skills and knew how to trap him.”

*That is actually the overwhelming analysis. Schumer and Pelosi went into the meeting with the specific goal of if their is a government shutdown it gets blamed on Trump. And then Trump decided he would try to make it like a reality show and call in the press. And because Trump is mentally ill and cannot grasp the consequences of his own actions he thought he could just bluff is way against two political pros. And ended up getting owned instead with especially Pelosi walking away with winner.

MSNBC’s 'Morning Joe' co-host Mika Brzezinski apologized on Wednesday for using a homophobic slur when describing Secretary of State Mike Pompeo a 'butt-boy.'

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski apologized on Wednesday for using a homophobic slur when describing Secretary of State Mike Pompeo a “butt-boy.”

Brzezinski took issue with Pompeo’s recent comments to Fox News regarding Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman’s involvement in the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

“Why doesn’t Mike Pompeo care right now?” Brzezinski asked. “Are the pathetic deflections that we just heard when he appeared on ‘Fox and Friends,’ is that a patriot speaking, or a wannabe dictator’s buttboy? I’m dead serious. I’m asking, are these the words of a patriot?”

A viewer took to Twitter, calling the remark “as homophobic a term as I’ve heard on national morning television,” noting that MSNBC did not include the slur in its closed captioning. “Maybe don’t equate homosexuality with Mike Pompeo carrying water for the murderous regime in Saudi Arabia,” the viewer wrote.

Brzezinski agreed and quoted the tweet while offering an apology. She also apologized to Senator Dick Durbin, who was on set.

“SUPER BAD choice of words,” she wrote. “I should have said ‘water boy’... like for football teams or something like that.. apologize to @SenatorDurbin too! SO SORRY!”

MSNBC did not immediately respond when asked if the network condones or plans to do anything about Brzezinski’s comment.

Fox News’ Janice Dean took notice and responded to Brzezinski on Twitter.

“This apology isn’t good enough. Not a simple oops moment. It’s deeply disturbing,” Dean wrote.

Brzezinski isn’t the first MSNBC star to make homophobic remarks.

Joy Reid infamously claimed hateful and anti-gay rhetoric on her pre-fame blog was planted by diabolical hackers – a claim that quickly fell apart. Reid had even said she reported the hacking “crime” to the FBI. She eventually kinda-sorta admitted writing homophobic slurs.

Back in April, Reid got emotional on the air and admitted it seemed unlikely she was hacked, but that she didn’t recall making the offensive remarks, for which she apologized anyway.

“I genuinely do not believe I wrote those hateful things,” Reid told her viewers, adding, "The person I am now is not the person I was then."

MSNBC stood by Reid and she continues to host a show on the network.

This was actually pretty funny if you were watching because you could see Brzezinski starting to lose it until MSNBC finally had to cut her mic. And then you knew she was in real trouble. And she knew it too. Also on a personal note I really can't stand her or Joe Scarborough.

On Wednesday, Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski lost it on Secretary of State Mike Pompeo during a segment about Saudi Arabia and the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, and used an insult for which she is now apologizing. Just not to Pompeo.

During her comments about Pompeo, Brzezinski described him as a “wannabe dictator’s butt-boy.” MSNBC has not commented, but after the show, the host apologized to viewers after several people called her out on Twitter. Brezinski said it was a “SUPER BAD choice of words” and that she should have said ‘water boy” instead.

“SO SORRY” she added in all caps.

She specifically apologized to Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), who was a guest during the segment.

Brzezinski did not apologize to the Secretary of State for the comment.

WATCH: MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow says Don Jr., Ivanka and Eric Trump are all implicated in the latest legal filings

MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow on explained why “the president and his eldest children might be in the legal cross-hairs” following Wednesday’s court hearing and legal filing.

“Where we’re going to land I’ll tell you right now, what appears to be legal jeopardy for the president’s company and specifically for the president’s oldest children on the felony counts in which Michael Cohen himself — federal prosecutors in New York and now a federal judge in New York — have all said the president was involved in,” Maddow explained.

Maddow detailed the events in the sentencing hearing for longtime Trump fixer Michael Cohen and the nonprosecution agreement reached by longtime Trump friend David Pecker of A.M.I. — which owns the National Enquirer tabloid.

“Well, is there anybody else potentially in trouble for this felony given what prosecutors have made public about the nature of this crime and what they know about it?”

“Yeah!” Maddow continued. “Yeah, as it turns out. Yeah, there is someone else potentially in trouble here.”

“And they don’t have a nonprosecution agreement and they don’t have immunity, because that’s the president’s company — and specifically the decision-makers inside his company who would have had the authority in that company to help pull something like this off at the time that it happened during the campaign,” Maddow noted.

Maddow put onscreen a composite image of Trump and his three eldest children.

And there appear to be five people who fit that bill,” Maddow reported. ” One of whom is the Trump Organization’s financial — chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg. He’s been granted immunity by prosecutors in exchange for his assistance in this matter.”

“Then the other four people who were inside the Trump Organization at the time this felony was committed, who apparently would have had the authority within the company to make something like this happen,” Maddow continued. “They happen to be four people who were employed as top executives at the Trump Organization — who all have the same last name.”
