Its one thing to read about Trump's witness tampering and obstruction of justice. But it will be quite another if we get to actually read the transcripts of what was said. But nothing will have more impact than actually hearing it.

Mark Levin: Why the founding fathers, Patriot press would be 'astonished' at what the media has become

Levin added: "I think Thomas Paine would be absolutely disgusted. And you know his great pamphlets made an enormous difference."

A 2016 study by the Center for Public Integrity revealed that 96 percent of donations made by journalists were made to Hillary Clinton's election campaign.

In February, while appearing on a podcast hosted by former Navy SEAL Mike Ritland, former CBS correspondent Lara Logan said that journalists were “mostly liberal” and pushing narratives.

“The media everywhere is mostly liberal. But in this country, 85 percent of journalists are registered Democrats. So that’s just a fact, right?” Logan asked Ritland.

"And also the press today, it doesn't push the agenda of the Patriot press. Look the Patriot press, wasn't so much a news operation. It was pushing a revolution of certain principles and so forth. Yes the media today for the most part pushed the opposite principles," Levin said.

The author also accused cable and media outlets of pushing guests that push their agenda.

"You can also see what happens in a lot of these newsrooms. By the nature of the guests that they have and the so-called experts they have are the members of Congress who have repeat performances and you can see on again CNN, MSNBC but it's not just cable. It's the written word too," Levin said.

The media has solemn obligations to the public.
We all know that a free press is the corner stone of democracy.
The media have a responsibility to report the facts objectively and to ask the hard questions of our public and business leaders. This obligation does not change depending on who is in office, and who the reporter likes or dislikes. It is not dependent on profit although to remain truly free, media must make a profit. If that profit is dependent on a particular editorial agenda, that media outlet can no longer claim to be part of the free press. It is nothing more than a propoganda machine.

Shooter thinks the trend away from a truly objective and free press has gone to far. We are truly lost.

MSNBC Has Apparently Decided to Become an Iranian Propaganda Outlet
Posted at 12:00 pm on May 20, 2019 by Bonchie

There’s only one standard at MSNBC. You can shill for dictators and make all the factual errors you want, but if the end result is you slapping at Donald Trump, then it’s all good.

We saw that on full display this weekend via Joy Reid’s show. That’d be the same Joy Reid who lied about being hacked to cover for homophobic comments, lied about the FBI investigating said fake hack, and then proceeded to have absolutely no disciplinary taken action against her. Journalism and all that.

This week AM Joy turned a hackery double play by hosting Iranian backed propagandist Trita Parsi and noted grifter Malcolm Nance, who fancies himself an expert on terrorism and Russia (he was once a cryptologist in the Navy nearly 20 years ago, otherwise he has no actual background in those areas). The topic was Iran and level headed analysis was in short supply.

Nance sounded off by painting Iran as some kind of super-state, capable of destroying U.S. forces and bombing every major military target in the gulf region.

For starters, Iran doesn’t have a “one million man commando force.” They have the revolutionary guard, which is about 120,000 strong and full of averagely trained, under equipped soldiers. As to the idea that they’d bomb targets at will, the Iranian Air Force is antiquated, consisting of ancient F-4 Phantoms, early F-14A models, and F-5s. The most modern aircraft in their inventory are the 20 or so 1980s era Mig-29s. Their ballistic missile inventory would be the biggest threat they could yield. It still wouldn’t result in what Nance says here.

The USAF would destroy every plane they put in the air within the span of a few hours if conflict broke out. That’s not even debatable. Nance’s assertions are so devoid of fact as to border on parody. Yet, MSNBC hosts him as an “expert” on matters of war.

Then we get to Trita Parsi.

Parsi is the founder of the “National Iranian American Council,” which is essentially an Iranian mouthpiece that lobbies for their interests in Washington. He’s also a big fluffer of Qatar in American media.

The dynamics are of course complicated, by Parsi’s representation of the Iranian people as a united front protecting the Mullahs doesn’t really match reality. The Islamic regime is deeply unpopular with the people and the country itself has deep strains of secularism within the government mandated Islamism (far more than Iraq had). Painting Trump as fearful of the mighty Iranian war machine is laughable bluster.

Here’s a few more tweets that will give you a better idea of the kind of actor Parsi is.

Oh, all we have to do is to lift all sanctions, drop all preconditions, and let Iran do whatever the hell they want? Well, why didn’t you just say so? Parsi carries himself with all the trademarks of your typical unregistered foreign agent but MSNBC invites him on to bash the current administration and propagate talking points straight from the Mullahs.

What we’ve seen from the media the past week regarding Iran is a pathetic testament to just how far they are willing to go to oppose Trump. Bringing on people to repeat Iranian propaganda and muse on the destruction of U.S. military forces, all while couching them as experts, is well below any standard of real journalism. It’s also ill-informed garbage from a technical standpoint.

I’ll end with a disclaimer. No one should take me pointing this out as an endorsement of war with Iran. I do not think we are going to attack Iran nor do I think we should. Regardless, I can recognize that the Iranians are no match for the U.S. military and that it’s gross to see mainstream media outlets turn themselves into Iranian/Qatari mouthpieces. The issue with Iran wouldn’t be the initial conflict. It’d be what comes later that poses the greatest challenge, as we’ve learned from experience. People that want to make the argument on those grounds are well within logical bounds to do so and I’d probably agree.

Just don’t gaslight me about Iran destroying every base in the Gulf and the scariness of their “one million man commando force” like you are freaking Baghdad Bob.

Man I will tell you there is no fucking way a PR hack can piss me off more than this bunch of fucking lies.

First have you bunch of fucking amateurs ever heard of a double leak or know how it work when someone leaks something to the press and they print it. And then they take the headlines when the papers come out and use them to claim that's what the American people want.

And do you know who the first victim of a double leak was? None other than George Washington. Because you know after 8 fucking years of war all George wanted to do was just go fucking home. I didn't fight a king to become one. But you know Congress was looking at winning a war is a lot easier. This Constitution of the United States of America and what we are trying to do is a hard sell and never been done before.

So it was the first time but not the last the boys and congress said what we need right now is a hero to lead us. And George said not just no but fuck no I just want to make sure my soldiers get paid. Which threw Ben and the boys a racquetball because they were sure he would take the job.

Which caused congress to say let's at least honor you with dinner before we settle up accounts. And George relaxed, and somebody, probably Ben slipped out. And ran right to the press leaking three different versions. But all of them amounted to George Washington said he would be our president if you wanted him to You jsut have to say so.

And then by the time George got fed drunk laid and stoned (oh yes he did) every newspaper in the country was screaming George baby will you be our president.

Probably Ben again, then said George, after all you have fought for and sacrificed for this nation can you now turn our back on the vast majority of the people.

So just non fuck you all if you don't know that. I have always been damned proud I learned that.

All it took was for Nancy Pelosi to say it out loud. Its time for Trump's family and/or administration to have in intervention on Trump. And what she didn't say is the main reason I don't want to start impeachment on Trump is because the 25th Amendment is a lot easier and faster and I can make the Republicans do it.

Rachel Maddow's credibility and ratings at a low ebb following Mueller findings, critics say

By Brian Flood | Fox News
    [IMG]
Critics feels MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow has lost credibility after endlessly pushing her theory on Russian collusion.

MSNBC's "The Rachel Maddow Show" has been hit with a serious one-two punch.

One day after finishing May with its worst ratings since Donald Trump took office, the lefty pundit's eponymous program faced a Vanity Fair bombshell report that the New York Times didn’t want its reporters appearing on Maddow's show, not because her ratings were down, but because she was too far left, even for them.

The New York Times had reportedly blocked its reporters from appearing on “Maddow” because the program is too partisan, with one insider from the Grey Lady's newsroom agreeing, telling Fox News “it rubs off” on any journalist who is too closely aligned to the far left.

“I do think Maddow, and others on MSNBC, have very strong opinions that affect their ability to tell stories in an accurate way sometimes,” the source said. “You don’t get tainted just by appearing [on the show], but it’s better to err on the side of trying to maintain objectivity and caution.”

“You don’t get tainted just by appearing [‘The Rachel Maddow Show’], but it’s better to err on the side of trying to maintain objectivity and caution.”

    — New York Times insider
The insider said colleagues at the paper are divided as to whether or not appearing on Maddow’s show would actually damage their reputations. Many of the Times’ top reporters are aware and “rightly sensitive” about the paper’s reputation of leaning left, the source said, and appearing on “Maddow” makes it hard to convince people otherwise.

A handful of journalists work for the both the Times and MSNBC, including Peter Baker, Nick Confessore and Jeremy Peters. All three of those reporters declined to comment when individually asked about Maddow. The Times did not immediately respond to a request for comment, either.

The paper did tell Vanity Fair that it was simply reinforcing an existing policy to be consistent with the paper’s standards. But Peters appeared on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Friday, the morning after the news of a Times reporter being kept off Maddow broke. “Morning Joe” hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough have a public feud with Trump, but haven’t pushed the Russia collusion theory as aggressively as Maddow.

Maddow has dedicated much of her programming since Trump took office to hyperventilating over whether or not Trump colluded with Russia. Since Attorney General Bill Barr's letter summarizing Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report was released on March 24 indicating that a Trump campaign-Russia conspiracy didn’t exist, contradicting Maddow’s nightly narrative, her ratings have suffered.

Maddow lost nearly 500,000 viewers for her first episode following the release of Barr’s letter. Then she plummeted 13 percent in April compared to the same month in 2018, according to TVNewser, falling behind “Tucker Carlson Tonight” in the process. In May she averaged 2.6 million – her worst month since Trump took office – and a far cry from the 3.1 million viewers she averaged during the first quarter of 2019.

A New York Times insider thinks it’s wise to err on the side of trying to maintain objectivity and caution and avoid Rachel Maddow. (Getty Images)

Accuracy in Media national editor Carrie Sheffield feels that Maddow has long “ignored basic journalistic, fact-checking practices and the presumption of innocence in our legal system by relentlessly pushing unproven conspiracy theories about supposed Russian collusion” and her “lapse in journalistic balance” is part of why Americans have declining trust in the national media and why some reporters appear to be distancing themselves from her show.

“This was a long time coming, and we hope MSNBC will allow for greater balance moving forward. We hope that Maddow's programming will include substantive fact-checking, balanced debate and dialogue, rather than an echo-chamber monologue that further divides Left and Right," Sheffield told Fox News. "Americans deserve better.”

“That some reporters refuse to go on her show is important, but is unlikely to change her behavior. Maddow long ago carved out her faux-intellectual paranoid niche, and she's stuck in it."

    — William A. Jacobson

Cornell Law School professor and conservative blogger William A. Jacobson told Fox News that “Maddow built her viewership on Russia collusion conspiracy theories dressed up as analysis,” and said the Mueller Report “destroyed” her credibility.

“MSNBC is standing by her because she still has a large viewership emotionally invested bringing down Trump,” Jacobson said. “That some reporters refuse to go on her show is important, but is unlikely to change her behavior. Maddow long ago carved out her faux-intellectual paranoid niche, and she's stuck in it."

DePauw University professor and media critic Jeffrey McCall agreed that Maddow is still enormously popular with her anti-Trump base.

“Her opinionated approach, however, should make hard news reporters and their editors take pause before being associated with her agenda-driven show... regular journalists risk being associated with the political leanings of Maddow, which could be harmful to their credibility.”

    — Jeffrey McCall
“Her opinionated approach, however, should make hard news reporters and their editors take pause before being associated with her agenda-driven show,” McCall said. “Such regular journalists risk being associated with the political leanings of Maddow, which could be harmful to their credibility.”

"The Rachel Maddow Show” is currently the No. 3 program in cable news, and MSNBC is standing by its cash cow.

“For over a decade, ‘The Rachel Maddow Show’ has welcomed the best journalists from across the country and celebrated the hard work they do, day-in and day-out. This includes countless New York Times reporters and editors. That commitment to journalism is part of the DNA of the show,” an MSNBC spokesperson told Fox News when asked about the Vanity Fair report.

    [IMG]Video
Maddow has emerged as a leader of the #Resistance, but her missteps on Mueller aren't the only time she has raised eyebrows. Maddow failed to ask Hillary Clinton whether or not she thought the Obama administration could have done a better job handling Russian interference, was called out by a media watchdog group for deceiving viewers when she ignored reports seemingly clearing Donald Trump Jr. of suspicions related to the much-hyped Trump Tower meeting, and famously disappointed viewers when a heavily promoted “scoop” about Trump’s taxes ended up being much ado about nothing.

Back in 2017, Maddow promoted a theory tying Trump to a tragic ambush attack that killed four American soldiers in Niger that was so outlandish that even the dependably liberal HuffPost criticized it as "so flimsy that it could be debunked by a quick glance at a map."

“Let’s be honest, Maddie’s brand has never been tethered to the truth or reality. She has been the National Enquirer of political coverage for years now,” conservative strategist Chris Barron said.

Nicolle Wallace is one of the few on TV to have the courage and integrity to come right out and say it. But if you actually saw Trump's interview with Morgan or better yet read the transcripts it is just obvious. And this was the most friendly environment Trump could get.
