    One other item for despicables to consider;
If brandon is too senile to be charged with his possession of TOP SECRET documents, then wouldn't it also be true that he's too senile to be held accountable for his money laundering and his corrupt payoffs from foreign governments?

    Something to think about, eh?

Jen Psaki buries Trump for encouraging Russian invasions

Pouncing on Donald Trump's boast to a South Carolina crowd that he would encourage Russia to invade NATO countries at will if they don't contribute enough to the organization, MSNBC host Jen Psaki suggested his latest words should give even Republicans pause.

Sharing a clip of the four-times indicted Trump telling the rally crowd, "NATO was busted until I came along. I said, ‘Everybody’s gonna pay.’ They said, ‘Well, if we don’t pay, are you still going to protect us?’ I said, ‘Absolutely not.’ They couldn’t believe the answer.”

He then added “one of the presidents of a big country” asked him whether the US would still defend their country if they were invaded by Russia even if they “don’t pay.” Trump recalled, "No, I would not protect you. In fact, I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want. You got to pay. You got to pay your bills.”

Noting the former president's longtime vendetta against NATO, Psaki explained, "Now look, he says a lot of stuff, but that's the Republican frontrunner for the president of the United States signaling to the Kremlin that he will give them a free hand to invade their European neighbors if he's given a second term."

She continued, "And as commander-in-chief, he would have the United States stand back and watch it happen. Let's be clear about what that would mean: any attack on a NATO ally would trigger a massive show of force by its members across the world. That's because under Article 5, an attack on one is considered an attack on all."

ALSO READ: A Republican invasion of self-defeating immorality

"Just take it from the NATO secretary general who responded to Trump's comments with this, quote, 'Any suggestion that allies will not defend each other undermines all of our security, including that of the u.s. and puts American and European soldiers at increased risk.'"

"Donald Trump is not only saying he wouldn't come to the defense of a NATO ally, he is inviting Russia to attack them," she added. "I cannot tell you how terrifying that type of language is for our allies sitting and listening to what he's saying and also how happy it must make Vladimir Putin."

Jen Psaki Rolls Out String of Trump Gaffes To Torch Special Counsel Who Slammed Biden
    Tommy ChristopherFeb 12th, 2024, 10:31 am

MSNBC host and ex-Biden press secretary Jen Psaki rolled out a string of former President Donald Trump’s gaffes to torch special counsel Robert Hur as a poor excuse for a self-styled neurologist over his slams of President Joe Biden’s age and memory.

Hur’s report on Biden’s handling of sensitive documents dropped Thursday. The good news for Biden is there will be no charges against the president — but the bad news is the report is chock full of damaging asides about him and his memory.

Biden responded to the report Thursday night in a fiery press scrum, and other officials and allies have followed suit.

On Sunday’s edition of MSNBC’s Inside With Jen Psaki, Psaki delivered a lengthy commentary acknowledging the concerns about Biden, but contrasting him favorable with Trump.

She also ripped the special counsel by wondering why “Dr. Hur” seemed to ignore a strong of Trump gaffes, playing a montage that didn;t even include a new batch from this weekend:

So, I’m not going to sit here and tell you that the report from Special Counsel Robert Hur was a barrel of good news for the president. It wasn’t. And no reasonable person will tell you the report showing the president had classified information sitting in a cardboard box in his garage is a good thing. Obviously, it’s not.

In short, what Biden has been found to have done is sloppy. But as a Trump-appointed district attorney concluded, it was not criminal. And in the same report, Special Counsel Hur also had this to say.

After being given multiple chances to return classified documents and avoid prosecution, Mr. Trump allegedly did the opposite. According to the indictment, he not only refused to return the documents for many months, but he also obstructed justice by enlisting others to destroy evidence and then to lie about it.

Now in contrast, Mr. Biden turned in classified documents, consented to the search of multiple locations, including his homes, sat for voluntary interview, and in other ways, cooperated with the investigation.

But this pretty clear contrast hasn’t been the focus at all in the aftermath of the report, at all, really. And that’s in large part because Robert Hur gave a big old gift to the Trump political team in his report as well.

I wasn’t aware that he was also a doctor, but he included this line, basically questioning the cognitive abilities of Joe Biden. And that has been the major focus of coverage about the Hur report.

Now, I’m also not going to sit here and pretend that the president is a young sprite. He isn’t. He would tell you he’s not either. He’s 81 years old.

It’s not a narrative. It’s a fact. And the constant questioning about his age is one of the biggest challenges that his campaign faces. They know that.

But let’s not forget who 81-year-old Joe Biden is running against, 77-year-old, not a sprite, Donald Trump.

Whoever you may wish was running, it is time to settle into the fact that there will be two baby boomers competing for the White House in November. That is what’s happening.

Now, after the special counsel’s report came out, the president held a news conference on Thursday night. And while he had some good moments, no doubt, as a side note, I’ve missed, too, our backs and forths there, Peter Doocy.

Making up Mexico and E — mixing up Mexico and Egypt in what otherwise was an interesting newsworthy answer about Netanyahu, which by the way, didn’t get much coverage, isn’t great either.

Look, President Biden makes gaffes. He has — he has for years. But if we’re going to pay the gaffe game, let’s play the gaffe game for a moment.

    (BEGIN VIDEO CLIPS)

DONALD TRUMP, FORMER U.S. PRESIDENT & 2024 PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: And we have a man who is totally corrupt and the worst president in the history of our country who is cognitively impaired. We would be in World War II really quickly if we’re going to be relying on this man.

A very big hello to a place where we’ve done very well, Sioux Falls. Thank you very much, Sioux Falls.

STATE SEN. BRAD ZAUN (R-IA): We’re in Sioux City, not Sioux Falls.

    TRUMP: Oh, is that right?

    So Sioux City.

We built almost 500 miles of wall. Even the Obama administration says it in their stats.

They were interviewing him two weeks ago and they said, what would you advise President Obama?

Obama dropped missiles and they ended up hitting a kindergarten. If that’s the case, he’s going to end up being indicted when he leaves office.

They report to the crowd on January 6th. You know, Nikki Haley, Nikki Haley, Nikki Haley is in charge of security. We offered her 10,000 people.

A lot of people saw those documents. They didn’t see the once we had. We had them locked up and we had Secret Service all the time because I was president all the time.

    (END VIDEO CLIPS)

PSAKI: I wonder what Dr. Hur would have to say about all of that. Curious.

Well, the last one about being president all the time was not from a long time ago, it was actually just from yesterday. And we could keep going, believe me. We could fill an entire show, hours of shows.

But honestly, it’s beside the larger point because Trump gaffing is not even close to what the biggest risks of electing him are. And if we continue to focus on questions like who is the bigger gaffe machine, or what is the mental acuity difference between a 77-year-old and an 81-year-old, then we are all doing something very wrong.

That is not what this election is about, because in this election, one of the two candidates fomented an insurrection, didn’t lift a finger to stop an angry mob from his supporters from storming the Capitol, or step up to do anything when they were openly threatening to hang his very own vice president.

One of the two candidates in this race has bragged about assaulting women, defamed her, and was found liable of doing just that.

One of the two candidates in this race is openly threatening to use the Justice Department to go after his political enemies.

One of the two candidates in this race is channeling Adolf Hitler, in some speeches.

And one of the two candidates just yesterday said that he would encourage Russia to attack our NATO allies. None of that is hyperbole, it’s all on tape.

So are we really going to make this election about who confuses states more frequently? What are we doing here?

Yes, the age stuff is on people’s minds. It is in the political ether. We shouldn’t live in denial about that.

It’s also self perpetuating, for the most part, by people who have never spent one second with Joe Biden. But we cannot let this become the dominant focus of this campaign, because that is not what this election is actually about.

So apparently the despicable position is that trump is also senile and demented and therefore also cannot be tried.

This is actually kind of terrifying because Rachel Maddow laid out exactly how it happened before and history seems to be repeating itself with Putin, Trump, and Tucker Carlson. First, Putin is using Hitler's own words for his excuse for invading Poland. Second, just like Trump supporting Putin now Hitler also had supporters in the US. And Hitler also had Americans willing to broadcast his excuse for invading Poland to the US audience just like Carlson just did.

Maddow connects Trump's NATO lies to Putin's claim that Hitler had to invade Poland

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow began her Monday show by connecting the dots between Jair Bolsonaro, Donald Trump, and Russian leader Vladimir Putin and his hatred of NATO, including his claim that perhaps Poland deserved what happened when Adolf Hitler invaded them, starting World War II.

Trump has spent the better part of the last eight years incorrectly identifying how NATO is funded. It's unknown if he doesn't understand it or doesn't remember when his foreign policy advisers explained it to him.

Putin gave an interview with disgraced former Fox host Tucker Carlson with the Russian leader that began with such an extensive history lesson that Maddow said the majority of the American audience checked out and clicked off.

"For a part of the history lecture where Putin got to 1939," Maddow said of the Putin interview. "At which point, he then claimed in this interview that it was Poland who started World War II. Poland did it because even if Poland was cooperating with Hitler — they stopped cooperating with Hitler when Hitler needed them to cooperate most, and then they made Hitler attack them. We haven't had that sold to the American public. That happened in 1939. It hasn't happened since until now. And the reason Putin is trying to sell us this bizarre line now, is more worrying than it is interesting."

Maddow confessed it might have been a boring interview, but it's still worrying.

She quoted from a New Yorker piece that summed up the interview, describing Putin's conspiracy about Poland and Hitler. Poland, he claimed, forced Hitler to start World War II. Hitler had no choice but to attack Poland. They forced him to, Putin claimed, because they refused to do whatever Hitler demanded. It's a description that Maddow found shocking.

"The idea that the victim of the attack serves as its instigator by forcing the hand of the aggressor is Putin's explanation. This is the first time Putin described Hitler's aggression in these same terms," Maddow explained. "The way Putin described the beginning of the Second World War suggests that in his mind, he might see himself as Hitler but perhaps one that can make end roads into the United States and create an alliance with its presumed future president."

Right now, Putin is fighting with the one country between Russia and Poland because they refused to allow Russia to invade and take over the country.

"To Americans, he's saying that Poland is the real aggressor that we should blame for World War II, and he's starting to use the same language," Maddow continued. "Starting to cite the same reasons he did to invade Ukraine as Germany invaded Poland. We're a NATO country, and if Putin decides that, he doesn't just want to invade Ukraine, which he's done twice now since 2014, and he just doesn't want to invade Georgia and Moldova as well — if he decides, as he's been threatening, that he is going to start shooting at Poland too or take land from Poland — that will be Putin and Russia attacking NATO. Which would oblige the other 30 NATO countries to attack Russia."

    Then she paused.

"Or maybe not," she said, pointing to Trump's comments less than 24 hours later saying that he would "encourage" Russia to attack a NATO ally.

Monday, Trump doubled down on the claim. Then, he mistakenly identified Ukraine as a NATO country, which it is not.

Jack Smith just turned Trump's arguments 'on their heads' in new filing: legal expert

Special counsel Jack Smith not only dismantled former President Donald Trump's arguments for presidential immunity in his latest filing to the Supreme Court, argued legal expert Lisa Rubin on MSNBC's "The ReidOut" Wednesday — he used Trump's own arguments against him.

"You have been doggedly going through this filing," said anchor Joy Reid. "Give us more of what you've read thus far."

"You know, Joy, one of the things that strikes me in reading this is the way in which Jack Smith and his team so rapidly but also effectively subverted and turned on their heads some of the arguments that former President Trump and his lawyers were making," said Rubin. "One of the things that echoes throughout the briefs that former President Trump has submitted is a president is special. He should be treated specially and differently. And Jack Smith sort of doesn't disagree with that. He just takes a different tack at it."

ALSO READ: 'Unconstitutional overreach': Trump VP contenders clash on Jan. 6

The angle Smith uses, said Rubin, is that "Yes, presidents are special. We endow them with all sorts of constitutional powers, including the power to take care that his powers are faithfully executed and to respect and venerate the Constitution, more than anyone else." And ultimately, she continues, Trump's alleged crimes are of "unparalleled gravity that necessitates trying this case as quickly as possible, not the delay that you are begging for."

"Another thing that I think he says that is really interesting, it's really what he doesn't say, former President Trump's brief to the Supreme Court was infused with references to his candidacy," Rubin continued. "Talked how he was the Republican frontrunner and indeed the leading candidate to be President of the United States. He talked about the fact that he had an interest in a stay because one of the groups that would be irreparably harmed from a trial would be his voters, his supporters who would be deprived of their First Amendment rights to associate with him and hear his political messages."

"And again, Jack Smith and his team turned that on their head," she added. "They say the public's interest in a speedy trial here is greater than any interest that Trump could have in delaying it, particularly given that what he is accused of doing here is subverting the democratic will of tens of millions of voters. In other words, you claim to stand for the interests of a certain segment of voters. But the accusations at the heart of this case are about your willingness to disenfranchise the tens of millions of people who never voted for you in the first instance."

Chris Hayes Airs Rapid-Fire Montage of Fox Hosts Touting Now-Indicted Informant as Credible Source Against the Bidens
    Michael LucianoFeb 16th, 2024, 9:33 pm
    24 comments

After months of touting the claims of a former FBI informant who now stands accused of lying to the Bureau, Fox News’ primetime lineup completely ignored this news after it broke on Thursday.

Alexander Smirnov was arrested on Thursday and charged with lying to the FBI. Key among his claims was that Joe Biden and Hunter Biden illicitly received $5 million each from Ukrainian energy company Burisma while Joe was vice president and Hunter served on Burisma’s board. The payments, according to Smirnov, were meant to “protect” Burisma from corruption investigations. Republicans have falsely claimed that Joe Biden used his leverage as vice president to get the Ukrainian government to fire a prosecutor who was probing Burisma. However, the prosecutor was fired for not investigating corruption in the country.

Smirnov’s accusations have been a meat-and-potatoes talking point for Republicans, who allege Joe Biden engaged in corruption as vice president. A yearlong investigation by the House Oversight Committee has failed to yield evidence of this explosive charge. Meanwhile, in 2023, Chairman James Comer (R-KY) notched more than 200 appearances on Fox News where he incessantly teased damning information against the Bidens. That information crucially included Smirnov’s claims.

On Friday’s All In on MSNBC, Chris Hayes aired a rapid-fire monologue of Fox hosts and guests, promoting said allegations:

ELIZABETH MACDONALD: A veteran FBI informant alleging both the president and Hunter Biden each took $5 million in bribes.

KAYLEIGH MCENANY: Details come from an FBI informant who is very trusted.

UNKNOWN: A highly reliable informant that has always checked out. All the information he’s ever given us has checked out.

COMER: We have determined that the whistleblower is extremely credible.

COMER [AGAIN]: This is a very crucial piece of our investigation.

SEN. TED CRUZ: A confidential human source that had been reliable previously to the FBI.

SEN. LINDSEY GRAHAM: A confidential informant that they had on the payroll.

SEAN HANNITY: Documented allegations of bribery from a trusted FBI confidential human source have now finally been released… Now, its contents are devastating.

“Trusted,” Hayes sarcastically echoed after the snippets played. “So trusted. So reliable. Highly credible. In fact, in just one year, Sean Hannity – that guy you just saw there – promoted the bogus claims of that so-called trusted informant no less than 85 times on his show. Twenty-eight of those segments were Hannity monologues.”

‘Morning Joe’: Trump’s Constant Speech Gaffes Paint Him as ‘Deranged, Demented and Pathetic – Not to Mention Dangerous’ | Video
    Sharon Knolle
Mon, March 4, 2024 at 5:10 PM MST·3 min read
    328

Morning Joe” hosts Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough and commentator and “How the Right Lost Its Mind” author Charlie Sykes watched incredulously while playing clips from Donald Trump campaign rallies over the weekend that showed the former president appearing lost for words, mixing up Joe Biden and Barack Obama and referring to the country Argentina as “a great guy.”

After wrapping the montage of consistent speech gaffes, Sykes determined Trump to be “deranged, demented and pathetic” and that he “looks lost.”

Scarborough began the Monday segment by playing back a series of clips of Trump from rallies in North Carolina and Virginia where the GOP candidate said Argentina is “a big Trump guy. He loves Trump,” and added, “I took his call. Anybody that loves me, I like them.”

Trump had earlier mentioned Argentina’s president, Nicolás Maduro, by name, but in connection with Venezuela. He struggled to pronounce the name of the South American country. In another speech, Trump said he had spoken with the leader of the Taliban, who, he said, called him, “your highness.”

“He’s reading teleprompters and his mind still blanks out,” Scarborough said, pointing to occasions where Trump mixed up Obama and Biden. “It’s just so pathetic and sad. It’s a sad scene, to me, to see someone up on stage and blanking out.”

Scarborough continued, calling the 77-year-old politician as “an old man who is losing his ability to communicate.”

“Unfortunately, I’m not a psychiatrist,” Sykes chimed in. “What’s on display is, OK, Joe Biden is old, but the other guy is deranged, demented and pathetic, as you point out — not to mention, dangerous. And this is on display.”

The pundit then reflected on Trump being named the likely Republican presidential nominee over Nikki Haley as results for Super Tuesday come in later this week.

“As we’re sitting here talking about this, we’re less than 48 hours away from that guy clinching the Republican presidential nomination. The Republicans have one last out and they’re not going to take it,” he lamented. “They look at this guy — this is the extraordinary thing, is that Republicans look at him — and I don’t have to repeat all of the things, you know, he’s been found viable for rape, he’s facing 91 felony charges — you have this gaseous malice that you get from these gaffe-filled speeches, and they’re looking at him like, ‘Yeah, we’d like four more years of that.’”

“If there’s any upside here, it will be that Joe Biden can say, ‘Yeah, I’m old, I’m very stiff when I walk. But this guy is also old and he’s crazy and he’s dangerous and he is incoherent,'” Sykes added.

March 5 is Super Tuesday, in which 15 states — Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont and Virginia — hold primaries in the presidential election.

Rachel Maddow Warns Trump Is ‘for Sale’ After Endorsing Bud Light: It Only Took ‘One Fundraiser’

On Monday, Rachel Maddow had a bleak assessment about America’s future should Donald Trump be elected president again. America, she said, is “in a radically fragile place when it comes to what exactly is for sale in our country and from our government.”

What inspired Maddow’s commentary is the recent, very curious change of heart Donald Trump had about Bud Light and TikTok, which she demonstrated, at least in the case of the beer company, appears to be the direct result of what amounts to bribery.

For those who forgot, in 2023, Bud Light briefly partnered with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney for an extremely anodyne Instagram promotion. Conservative activists immediately stoked a transphobic freak out about it, and Mulvaney was subjected to intense and vicious harassment on social media.

Mulvaney later said the company basically cut her loose and let her endure the death threats and similar without any support. Meanwhile right wingers turned the beer, a staple of events and pastimes generally coded as “conservative,” into a culture war target, and eventually the executive who approved the partnership with Mulvaney was forced out.

“Under the course of just over a year, Bud Light was transformed from a normal American thing you don’t think much about into something very, very bad, something they would shoot on sight,” Maddow explained, noting that Trump himself was a huge promoter of this particular campaign.

But then, Maddow noted, “Donald Trump did a total 180. Out of the blue, he decided unilaterally to call off the right wing jeremiad against Bud Light. He told all his followers to start drinking bud lying again. Quote, ‘Anheuser-Busch is a great American brand that deserves a second chance.'”

Then Maddow identified what almost certainly caused this massive change of mind, starting on Feb. 6, the day Trump announced it.

“At 9:47 a.m., the lobbyist for Anheuser-Busch announces a $10,000 a plate fundraiser for Trump, 9:47 a.m. That same day at 3:30 p.m., Trump announces that he has changed his mind on Bud Light and conservatives should all drink Bud Light again,” Maddow said.

“All Anheuser-Busch had to do was announce they were going to do the fundraiser to get Trump to do what they wanted, to get Trump to call off what had been a years-long conservative culture war top line issue,” Maddow said. “That’s apparently what it took to end the great right-wing Bud Light freakout of 2023 and 2024. One fundraiser.”

Maddow then looked at Trump’s equally strange change of heart on TikTok. For those in need of a quick catch up, Trump tried to ban TikTok when he was president. Now, there is a bipartisan bill in the works with massive congressional support — and Biden has already said he’ll sign — that if passed would effectively ban TikTok in America unless it is sold to a company without ties to Beijing.

Trump however now opponses this bill and has said positive things about TikTok. Maddow tied this to a recent meeting between Trump and Jeff Yass, an American billionaire with a 13% stake in TikTok’s parent company Bytedance.

“So follow the bouncing coin, if you will. Step one, take very aggressive, very public position against foreign a company,” Maddow said. “Step two, notice nearby man who has $33 billion 15 percent stake in that company. Step three, need money desperately. Step four, announce new stance very much in favor of the same foreign company you used to oppose while blinking one’s eyelashes at the man you just noticed.”

“Step five — cha-ching, cash in,” Maddow quipped.

Maddow tied all this to Trump’s clear financial problems, as exemplified by the fact he had to get a bond from an unnamed lender in order to cover the $91 million required to appeal the judgment in the E. Jean Carroll defamation case. and that’s on top of the more than $400 million Trump has been fined after being found guilty of business fraud.

So he desperately needs money, I mean, right now,” Maddow said. “And he needs that money so urgently, right now, while he is openly changing his publicly held, long held supposedly heartfelt policy position — positions in ways that appear to be just straight-up responsiveness to financial incentives.”

“No matter how you think of Trump, no matter whether you support him or not, no matter whether you care about politics or not, it puts us, the American people, in a radically fragile place when it comes to what exactly is for sale in our country and from our government,” Maddow said as the concluded the commentary.

“I mean, Bud Light and TikTok seem to have figured out very early on where exactly you insert the coins to receive your prize. But if anything is for sale, right, if everything is for sale, what makes you think it’s going to stop with thin beer and Chinese social media apps? Everything must go. Everything’s for sale. Anybody who can pay can get what they want. And you wonder why guys like this always want to undermine the rule of law.”

Trump's struggle to finish sentences at Ohio rally 'raises a number of flags': MSNBC host

Moving past Donald Trump's threats on Saturday of a "bloodbath" if he is not re-elected and additional comments he made about the next election being the last, the panel on MSNBC's "The Weekend" noted the growing trend by the former president of not being able to finish a complete sentence.

After clips were shown from the Ohio rally, co-host Alicia Menendez pointed out to former Rep. David Jolly (R-FL), "As you may have noticed, he had a lot of trouble completing thoughts."

Turning to co-host Michael Steele, she continued, "For someone, Michael Steele, who likes to talk about people's mental acuity, he couldn't seem to get there himself."

"I mean the man can't seem to stream together a complete sentence," a laughing Steele replied. "I mean, I've had more than one person say that to me over the last few months. That, at the end of the day, everyone is focused on Joe Biden's speech pattern — he has a stutter folks that he tries to control!"

"What is Donald Trump's excuse?" he asked. "I'm telling you, he can't do it. It raises a number of flags for me, David, around the idea of how people perceive these two individuals."

"At the end of the day, you're looking at Donald Trump and Joe Biden as men who are going to run the country for the next four years," he added. "Within the body of voters, you're finding this phenomenon that has been tagged or labeled 'double haters', people who hate both houses. How does that dynamic change?"

Treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans are panicking over Trump's violent rhetoric because its hurting them down ballot and they know it. Which is why they are pushing back so hard about Trump's "bloodbath" statement. But its not going to work for two reasons. One being trump literally meant bloodbath if he doesn't get elected. And two that is who Trump is. That is how he thinks. And he wants political violence. And won't stop saying it.

Joe Scarborough Spots Trump Line That Shows He Meant 'Bloodbath' Threat

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough on Monday insistedDonald Trump meant his warning about a “bloodbath” in America if he’s not elected, despite the Trump campaign’s claims to the contrary he was only talking about the auto industry.

“It was a distinction without a difference,” said Scarborough.

What made it clear what GOP nominee Trump was intending to say, Scarborough continued, was when he added afterward that a “bloodbath” would “be the least of it.”

Scarborough explained, “If you think there’s going to be a bloodbath in the auto industry, even if you take that argument at face value, which, again, given the tone of the rest of the speech, ‘Bloodbath,’ I’m not sure he’s talking about the niceties of international trade. But let’s just take that argument as is. Then he goes on and he says, ‘That’s going to be the least of it,’ and repeats it. ‘It’s going to be the least of it.’”

“Obviously, he’s talking about a bloodbath for America,” he added.

“It’s just bullshit,” Scarborough said of the Trump campaign’s spin that was parroted by other Republicans.

“I’ll say that at 6:15 a.m. it was bullshit,” he added.

Trump “knew what he was doing. We’re not stupid. Americans aren’t stupid,” Scarborough said. “He was talking about a bloodbath. Sometimes a bloodbath means a bloodbath. And when he finishes by saying, ‘And that’s just going to be the least of it.’ Seriously? These people may be stupid, we’re not.”

So, recently we learned that Ronna McDaniel, the chair of the Republican National Committee, had resigned.
Now liberals were hooting that Trump had pushed her out so Ivanka could take over and loot the treasury to pay Donald's legal fees.
Turns out, no, Ronna had another gig lined up.
    As a paid political analyst.
    At NBC.
    Really.
    Can't make this shit up.

NBC News leadership under fire over Ronna McDaniel debacle (msn.com)
NBC News leadership under fire over Ronna McDaniel debacle
Story by Brian Flood, David Rutz

NBC News leadership faced a crisis of its own making beginning last week after it brought on former Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, and it looks to some critics like the inmates are running the asylum after on-air talent brazenly revolted against the hire.

NBCUniversal News Group chairman Cesar Conde, who oversees NBC News, CNBC, and MSNBC, is under pressure after some of his biggest stars blasted the decision to hire McDaniel as a paid political analyst, in a stunning public humiliation of network leadership.

McDaniel being added to the payroll infuriated much of Conde’s workforce, many of which have used NBCUniversal News Group platforms to shame the decision. As a result of the tumult, Puck News reported NBC planned to drop McDaniel and executives were deliberating Tuesday over the details. It also reported McDaniel is seeking legal representation, although there has not been an official announcement of any moves yet.

A former high-level staffer at NBC News told Fox News Digital that NBC News and its liberal sister, MSNBC, have essentially blended together since Conde took control in 2020. The news operation was previously controlled by Andy Lack, who largely allowed Noah Oppenheim to oversee NBC News and Phil Griffin to control MSNBC.

But Lack, Oppenheim and Griffin are long gone, and the former staffer said you can’t have the amount of bleedover that currently exists between the two networks and expect NBC News not to mirror the liberal cable network.

"This embarrassing infighting shows that NBC News has lost all legitimacy as an objective news operation. MSNBC’s woke, far-left theocracy now controls everything," the former staffer said. "Tim Russert must be rolling in his grave."

Russert, who moderated "Meet the Press" under previous management and was known as a nonpartisan newsman, tragically died in 2008. The former staffer said that younger Americans have no recollection of the Russert-era NBC.

"It no longer exists," they said.

Star MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, one of the many hosts who lambasted NBC this week, took it upon herself to be a spokesperson for her division on Monday, after MSNBC President Rashida Jones was among the executives caught flat-footed by the harsh response to McDaniel.

"It’s my understanding that MSNBC’s leadership did not object to Ronna McDaniel being hired by NBC News when the matter first arose, but when the hiring was announced, and MSNBC staff essentially unanimously and instantly expressed outrage, our leadership at MSNBC heard us, understood, and adjusted course," Maddow said. "We were told this weekend in clear terms Ronna McDaniel will not be on our air. Ronna McDaniel will not be on MSNBC. And I say that and give you that level of detail because there has been an effort since by other parts of the company to muddy that up in the press and make it seem like that’s not what happened at MSNBC."

Maddow, Lawrence O’Donnell, Nicolle Wallace, Joy Reid, Mika Brzezinski, Joe Scarborough, and Chuck Todd all spoke out against NBC’s decision to hire McDaniel. Maddow appeared to offer Conde a blueprint to reverse the decision on Monday.

"Mistakes will be made. But part of our resilience as a democracy is going to be us recognizing when decisions are bad ones and reversing those bad decisions. Hearing legitimate criticism, responding to it, and correcting course, not digging in, not blaming others," Maddow said Monday.

"Take a minute, acknowledge that maybe it wasn't the right call. It is a sign of strength, not weakness, to acknowledge when you are wrong," Maddow continued. "It is a sign of strength. And our country needs us to be strong right now."

It appears honchos listened to Maddow and Co., as Puck News reported McDaniel's exit was pending. NBC News didn't respond to a request for comment.

Some staffers are irked at the way the hiring was communicated in the first place, while others believe the whole debacle points to widespread mismanagement.

Meanwhile, NBCUniversal parent company Comcast, led by President Michael Cavanagh and CEO Brian Roberts, has had to watch its news network become a punching bag for four straight days, with liberals shredding it for hiring McDaniel and conservatives mocking it for the chaos of the situation.

Comcast did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The NewsGuild of New York attacked Conde, too.

"Just two weeks before NBC News announced the hiring of former chair of the Republican National Committee Ronna McDaniel, management terminated 13 unionized journalists, violating labor law. Cesar Conde, chairman of the NBCUniversal News Group, never bothered to explain why the layoffs were necessary but McDaniel is reportedly earning $300,000 a year. Where are NBC’s priorities? Management’s actions speak clearly — a pundit with a history of election interference is more important than reporters," the Guild wrote in a scathing statement.

    So lets see.
    Maddow claims
"Mistakes will be made. But part of our resilience as a democracy is going to be us recognizing when decisions are bad ones and reversing those bad decisions. Hearing legitimate criticism, responding to it, and correcting course, not digging in, not blaming others," Maddow said Monday."
    Democracy, she said?
    As in free speech?
As in the inmates running the insane asylum?
What, Maddow was afraid of a little competition for once?
    This, Shooter thinks, exposes MSNBC et al for what they are;
Lying, hateful censorship advocates who will not tolerate any view but the one they are paid to spew.

I thought hiring Megyn Kelly was the biggest fuck up NBC could make. But even thinking about hiring Ronna McDaniel was 10 times worse and proves to me NBC needs new leadership. McDaniel is a literal traitor to the United States of America. She was an active participant in Trump's attempted coup. As well as being just a phony habitual liar. And to make it even worse McDaniel and NBC came up with the scheme in back room negotiations a quid pro quo for McDaniel helping NBC land one of the Republican primary debates while at the same time protecting and covering up for Trump not even attending them.

And even on her first appearance on their air McDaniel continued to lie about the 2020 election being stolen.

No credible news outlet can allow treasonous liars on their air They cannot allow people to try to re-write and/or minimize the fact Trump attempted the first coup in American history and incited an armed violent deadly insurrection to try and stay in power. And the people who enabled and aided and abetted him belong in prison not on the air.

There is no "both sides" when it comes to committing treason against the United States of America, our Constitution, and our democracy. That cannot be forgiven and forgotten.

It is simply amazing to me that now the treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans trying to drag us back to the Dark Ages. And I think it might be far more damaging to them then they realize. Its bad enough they are anti-science but actually promoting Dark Ages superstitions is something I think the majority of Americans will pay more attention to of just how stupid, ignorant, and mentally ill they are.

‘It’s Really Something!’ Jen Psaki Roasts Fox News and MTG Over Eclipse-Earthquake ‘Fearmongering’
    Tommy ChristopherApr 9th, 2024, 8:43 am

MSNBC host and ex-Biden press secretary Jen Psaki roasted Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Fox News over their “fearmongering” about the solar eclipse and the minor New York/New Jersey earthquake.

Eclipse mania was everywhere Monday, but MTG and Fox News injected a bit of culture-war zazz into the mix. Greene suggested the eclipse and the earthquake are signs of the end times, while Fox News personalities connected the eclipse to the border and staring at the sun to being — not with Biden?

On Monday’s edition of MSNBC’s Inside With Jen Psaki, Psaki hit them both — as well as former President Donald Trump — for being “all too eager to inject into anything and everything under the sun”:

JEN PSAKI: Today, millions of Americans across North America and the United States have the rare chance to watch a solar eclipse. The total solar eclipse, which has been nicknamed the Great American Eclipse for its long path over North America, was visible in 15 states and there were varying views of a partial eclipse where they were enjoyed throughout the rest of the country, including by members of our team here in D.C. and in New York.

Remember, it was only back in August of 2017 that the last solar eclipse cut across the United States. And just like today, Americans throughout the country pause their days to safely gaze at the sun through their protective shades, with, of course, the notable exception of this guy.

In past millennia, solar eclipses used to be tied to mass superstition and fear a long time ago, but now they’re instead rare moments of collective awe where people get to watch an incredible and frankly, very cool celestial event. But sometimes, even in this day and age, some folks try really hard to make it something more.

Like on Friday, the day of the earthquake that rumbled parts of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene posted this, quote, “God is sending America strong signs to tell us to repent. Earthquakes and eclipses and many more things to come. I pray that our country listens.”

I mean, I’m just going to pause on that statement for a moment because it’s just — it’s really something and you need to read it.

Now, her post was, of course, quickly tagged with a community note that pointed out that the U.S. averages about four earthquakes a day. That’s what happens. And that solar eclipses are able to be predicted well in advance, but have no fear.

Congresswoman Greene doubled down on her post, writing, quote, “Many have mocked and scoffed at this.” Correct. She noted, “Yes, eclipses are predictable and earthquakes happen. However, God created all of these things and uses them to be signs for those of us who believe.”

I mean, another explanation is sometimes these things are just coincidences, maybe. I mean, but even “Fox News” attempted to not so subtly tie the eclipse to their favorite all-time political issue.

    (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: A Fox News alert, a rare celestial event collides with a policy failure on the ground. The southern border will be directly in the path of totality today when the moon covers the sun for nearly four minutes.

    (END VIDEO CLIP)

PSAKI: The funny thing is, back in 2017, the last time there was a solar eclipse in the U.S., no serious person was trying to spin it this way. But in the larger context of the language that the right is pushing seven months out from Election Day, by the way, fearmongering about invading migrants and livable cities and Donald Trump warning about a bloodbath if he is not reelected. This is just another example of the fear that they are all too eager to inject into anything and everything under the sun.

Watch above via MSNBC’s Inside With Jen Psaki.

With No Shame Left to Lose, MSNBC Interviews Michael Avenatti From Prison Because Orange Man Bad
    April 09, 2024

    AP Photo/Amanda Lee Myers, File

We truly live in the most absurd timeline, and that was proven again on Tuesday after MSNBC interviewed Michael Avenatti from prison to garner his "legal analysis" on Donald Trump.

Once touted as a possible presidential candidate by liberal news networks due to his rabid criticism of the former president, Avenatti is currently in the clink due to multiple convictions spanning everything from extortion to embezzlement. You would think that would make him persona non grata among journalistic outlets, but you'd be mistaken.

Thus, Ari Melber interviewed Avenatti, a convicted felon who is sitting in prison, as if he were a credible legal authority. You know what? Why not? It's not like these people have any shame left to lose. They might as well go down in a ball of flames.

    https://twitter.com/TheBeatWithAri/...i-from-prison-because-orange-man-bad-n2172539

Some conservatives are plastering the above clip on social media because Avenatti appears to be saying what they want to hear regarding the flimsiness of Alvin Bragg's prosecution. Let me say this about that: I don't care if Avenatti comes out and says Donald Trump was the greatest president in history, no one should be citing him as an authority on anything.

The guy is a ridiculous con artist, and if I want someone to validate my already-held opinions, I won't be looking to Avenatti. I'd suggest overly thirsty conservatives do the same and preserve some semblance of sanity in the chase for clicks and clout.

With that said, Avenatti eventually predicted that Trump would be convicted in the case despite its problems.

He's probably right on that front given the likely make-up of any Manhattan jury, but again, I'd rather take predictions from my dog than someone like Avenatti.

Regardless, the real story here is just how far MSNBC is willing to go to get their "orange man bad" fix. There's no doubt that Melber and his producers booked this interview with the full expectation that Avenatti would just mindlessly rant about how evil Donald Trump is. That was the interview they wanted, and why would they think otherwise?

That's what Avenatti gave them for years as an on-air personality bouncing between MSNBC and CNN. That the disgraced lawyer only sort of trashed Trump in this interview probably represented a supreme disappointment for MSNBC and its viewers. Better luck next time, I suppose.

Know what the real irony is?

Avenatti has been a fair haired boy for MSNBC even after his convictions for, tax evasion, embezzlement, extortion, mail fraud, obstruction and theft. They don't talk any more about him as a presidential candidate (but considering they support brandon, it wouldn't be a surprise if they did), but they still value his opinions and go with his views.

But when NBC hired Ronna McDaniel they twirled and bitched until management backed down and fired her. Because she was a Trump supporter. A trump supporter not convicted of any crime, except, you know, being a Trump supporter.

    Right to free speech?
OF COURSE!! as long as your speech fits our agenda

So shooter, why did Fox news knowingly spread Trump's big lie? On what evidence did Fox repeat to a national audience, Trump's election fraud lies?

Answer that, before lecturing anyone about anything, eh
