  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    StanleyOG.

It is obvious that you have no idea whay freedom or liberty is. When Bush won the last two elections you were all in favor of his mandate? If Bush had outlawed abortion you would have been all for it since he won, right?

Also, it is not freedom to have your rights imposed upon you by someone else. Because Roe vs Wade is the law of the land, then every woman should have an abortion no matter if she agrees or not?

You school analogy also has no merit. I sent my girls to private schools rather than public schools.

I have always felt that a society should be judged on how it takes care of its weaker members. IMO a society cannot call itself civilised if the old and infirm are left to fend for themselves.

When I see the squalor that some of the elderly live in England it really makes me seriously resent our system, yes we have a National Health System and I am very grateful for that but there needs to be a wider concern for the old and infirm also.

Yeah, but guess what? You still paid taxes to support your school district.

No, I was NOT in favor of a lot of things George Bush did. I did not, however, refuse to pay taxes during his eight years in office. I looked forward to the opportunity to vote him and his ilk out of office. You're welcome to do the same.

Just like the people the Bush administration(and every other Republican one since Reagan) taxed to death while giving cuts to people with more money had that right too, right?

That's exactly what your fucking party does.

One government wouldn't be nearly as effective as you think. People from different countries and areas of the world need different requirements. People living in an area hit by continuous earthquakes, for example, need totally different things than people who live in a geologically sound country. What you'd effectively end up with, is an even bigger divide between people, namely those that "have" and those that "don't have".

Also, how would you effectively vote in one government, giving every single person, over the age of 18, the chance to vote? People from inner Africa, for example, who can't read, or write and many don't even know how old they are?

It's easy for people from a first world country to say how we could make the world a better place, but the truth is, we can't. We're as ineffective as third world governments because it just can't be done.

5 million dead, injured, or displaced Iraqis later - us "non-crazy" disagree'rs are still paying our taxes. With a black President with a Muslim name... ;)

Roe doesn't make abortion mandatory! LOL

You still paid for them (hopefully...)

I moved to a district where my taxes were much lower. You see, I had a CHOICE as whether I paid the same amount of taxes or not. Under this healthcare bill I will NOT have a choice as to whether I want to pay into it or not. Let me give you a hint though. I will pay as little as possible into it.

And for the others here talking about how society should do for the weakest, I totally agree. But with a caveat. If where your are in society is because of a choice you made, no one should have to pay your way.

What do I mean by this? I owned a restaurant once. One of my workers could not find a sitter one day and brought her kid in to work. I let it slide that day but told her that she could either stay home the next time she could not find a sitter or go work somewhere else. Not her fault she could not find a sitter? Maybe not, but somewhere in her past she made a choice between having and not having sex. Hey, sex is a great thing, fun and all but sex's primary function is the survival of our species. Sex makes babies and yes, contraceptives fail, rubbers break, but the choice to have sex is just that. A choice. Kids can happen. You have to live with the consequences of that choice and sometimes those consequences are losing a job because you can't find a sitter.

Getting old is not a choice. You live long enough, you get old. I have no problems chipping in to support these I have a hell of a problem chipping in to pay for the above.

o, no no no, please not australia , we don't want all your rejects just across the ditch from us, breeding with those crazy ozzies.
BUT , on a more serious note, and being well away from you political influences ...
I'm afraid if that were my daughter, I would be very concerned.
Firstly, that she has formed such an uncareing and uncompassionate attitude to towards the less fortunateof her species.
Secondly, that at such a young age she has developed such a selfish opinion so obviously colored by a particular political bias.
And third, that she has formed this unfortunate attitude at such a young age showing she has no understanding that in such a meterialist capatilist society , it is absolutely impossable for all to be equally capable of looking after themselves, as the able bodied haves climb over the disabled and havenots to get to the top of the heap with no regard for those under thier feet.
My appologies to any I ofend, because thats "the american way".
just happy my daughter was not that selfish at that age , or ever.

My guess is, Mr. Private School, you - like 85% of the country - already meet the requirements of the federal mandate. If you are unable to meet the requirements, health insurance will be provided for you.

On the other hand, unless you're obscenely wealthy, you will see the premiums you pay reduced by an array of cost-saving measures and by expanding the pool by 30 million otherwise healthy people.

Spending money for the common good saves money both immediately and particularly 10 years from now.

Getting sick is not a choice. You live long enough, you get sick. I have no problems chipping in to support these but my personal opinion has no bearing on the enforcement of this law because I live in a representative majoritarian democracy.

I'm with ya - I'd prefer a public option because I'm uncomfortable with a straight private-to-private mandate. But my heebie-jeebies have no bearing outside of the ballot box, do not warrant my disregard for the law, or justify the use of violence or threats thereof to subvert the will of the majority.

Tacit consent. Once upon a time, a small minority of people wanted to disregard the law and break the social contract. We settled that 150 years ago.

Except in your dystopia, Waitress #1 would still have that baby in the case of rape.

So your view is that it's impossible to make the world a better place?

That is a question that question's your humanity...if humanity loses hope then you're probably right. But if we can come together as humans and work as one government then you can give to the have nots much easier and make it so they do have.

I'm not saying we could do this in 10 years, or 100, I have no idea how long it would take, or how it would come about, it would be challenging and extremely difficult to form something that would work and be efficient...but most things worth while require hard work.

And no I'm not saying that we should make the whole world America, I mean a new form of government that can look over everyone.

The series of "Ender's Game" focus's on this subject, in the series a world goverment is slowly formed by forming a collective government together with all the of the smaller poor countries looking for something to gain until it grows to the point where it is more beneficial to join up than to be left out even for the larger more developed countries.

I can't ever just laugh at people who talk about "freedom" and "liberty" on the one hand and then are hypocrite enough to claim even though the US supreme court has ruled otherwise, a woman does not have the freedom and liberty to decide whether to have an abortion or not.

Many, many times I see conservatives become subject to this kind of hypocrisy.

Actually, it's more like 655,000 directly dead. The rest were simply forced to flee their homeland in the wake of our "shock and awe."

She asked "Mom why does the government believe that every person has the "right" to food, shelter, healthcare ect., when it takes away money from the people who work very hard and pay their taxes?"

"She then said I thought our rights were life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. if I am alive and work hard to earn my money and pursue what makes me happy then I am providing myself food, shelter, ect. Anyone has the liberty to that.....why don't they?"

I said her, "Her idealism is great"

If "idealism" is the cherishing or pursuit of high or noble principles, purposes, goals, etc. which I believe it to be. Then wtf is your beef? Furthermore how the hell did you get to screwing "Have Nots" out of what a 15 year old said.

Personally I like your 2nd paragraph better.

I am a bit confused about you post to start with.....if you have bothered to read my posts on this subject you would know where I stand...or is it just your time of the month?
