I've given every hentai a shot. Not my favorite.....but it gets the job done.

 

*sniffles* I miss RPing. At one time I was in like 3 different groups from 2 different online games. I was spending waaaaaaay too much time on the groups, though. But for what it's worth, I used all that knowledge for my inspiration behind my latest story I've been working on.

I always wanted to do LARP. Unfortunately I live in the dullest state in the entire country. No one around here wants to do anything fun. Not to mention that when an adult dresses up in a costume and carries around a sword, people have a tendency to call the cops on you.

Now since I have all my little nerdies around, I have a stupid question. What's up with the whole cosplay thing? Is it like our LARP or more like Comic-con? I never quite understood the whole principle behind this. Can someone explain it to me? My husband said it was a cross between a LARP and Comic-con. Either way it looks like fun.

 

I dont believe cosplaying has any sort of game to it like Larping. Cosplaying is just dressing up like a particular character from an anime, cartoon, or video game. It's just done cause it's fun and people like to show off their creative works.

At the bottom of the heriarchy, or course.

 

I'm a fail nerd so I don't know what LARP is, and dun really kow what comic-con is


cosplay is just COSTUME. PLAY.

It's said americans can't do cosply cause girls with chunk on them will do dress up in skimpy outfits in America, but in reality that's mostly just bitching from people with yellow fever.

I only recently found it with english subs....but wow, the tentacle rape is insane.....

 

Larp = live action role playing. people dress up with mock up armor, swords, shields, or even just period dress. There are rules for combat and you act out what your character is doing instead of just describing it like you would in tabletop. I play in a Vampire: the Masquerade larp, we settle challenges and combats by rock scissors paper and we carry character sheets that describe what knowledge, abilities, and powers our character possesses or is capable of using.

As far as I know comic-con is just another (large) convention. It features comics, but has it's share of other subjects that appeal to geeks and nerds.

 

Cosplayers are weird but there are some good visual benefits if ya get mah drift

You've got a good enough body for it, you just need to select a character with the right body type. It's only really a problem if your body is completely different from the body of the character you're playing or if you insist on wearing an outfit several sizes too small.

As to whether going as Ed is cosplaying, I say if Sailor Buba and Man-Faye (shudder) count as cosplayers then anyone who says Ed doesn't is just being an elitist prick. If they're referring to the simplicity of the costume, you can always say it took more effort than the cardboard box from Metal Gear.

Once it's been seen it can't be unseen.
