I found the video, well, interesting...quite disturbing is more like it, since I too often use household products. I've never used anything glass, out of fear of the same happening, but I suppose if someone must use glass, even after seeing the video, I would suggest that they get a "do it yourself" window tint kit. It will contain polyvinyl resin and coat the inside and outside of the hollow glass item. This should keep it from shattering, just like your windshield (and all windows on most newer cars), it may crack all up, but never shatters into shards. As a little more added insurance, maybe fill the jar, or bottle with spray foam. Will help maintain rigidity of the item by providing pressure on the inside to keep it from imploding from the pressure of insertion. however, even with both of these ideas, not enough insurance for me...just find something else to use
