The Museum of the Bible is scheduled to open in November of 2017. It will overlook the Capital building.

 

I will personally be going to visit this museum. It looks very interesting. Especially given the impact the Bible had on our founding fathers and government. It's inscriptions can can found on the walls of our Supreme Court

 

Could they have made it any uglier ?

 

Isn't there a life sized Ark being built or has been built somewhere in the U.S.?

 

I really enjoy visiting most museums and it does sound interesting.

 

That's probably the one museum I would skip.

 

Are the stairwells golden?
Wouldn't an abandoned Cathedral have been a better home? Or how about a Synagogue & Church (side by side) the first for the Old Tests & the latter for the New.

 

Who is paying for it?

As far as who's funding it, I can guarantee it wasn't taxpayers. It is being built through donations. It is still under construction, but is expected to be open by November 2017.

 

Meh! America is not a Christian nation. A truly Christian nation would have referenced god far more than any of our documents did. Also, they would not have started of the first amendment with...

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..."

It was first and foremost in their minds that they didn't want a theocracy.

Ark Encounter, the biblical amusement park, has sold the land on which it stands to Crosswater Canyon, its non-profit affiliate, for a princely sum of $10. According to the property valuation administrator of Grant County, the property value comes to $48 million. The value on the deed is only $18.5 million.

There is an attraction in Orlando, Fl called the Holy Land Experience. It's a pretty cool place as well.

 

Most people will. It's hard to charge for entry in a city full of free museums. Plus it's hard to imagine anything the Smithsonian doesn't already have. And more than one already have sections about religion.

It's not like it's the spy museum.

The Bible Museum was established as a nonprofit in 2010.[2] The museum’s building location and design were announced in 2012 when the Green family purchased a warehouse two blocks from the National Mall that used to be the Washington Design Center in Washington, D.C.[4][5] The estimated $400 million dollar project is updating the historically protected structure as well as adding two additional floors and a rooftop café and garden. The building's 1923 original red brick, architecture and ornamentation was restored to original condition, with new brickwork imported from Denmark. The primary building was awarded historical status by the District's Historic Preservation Review Board.

But I know you guys like to be spoon-fed information, told what to think, and have zero intellectual curiosity. So I just did it myself and rightfully mocked him for not even making the smallest effort, all the awhile trying to build a very particular narrative. A narrative with no information backing it up.

 

More evidence that folks can do so much more with their income when they are tax exempt....or even partially.
