I'm having quite the dilemma...I recently got a message from someone on an online dating site (which I use for making friendship connections, seeing as I get along better with guys than girls--but that's irrelevant) that I am almost positive is the husband of a long-time friend asking me to partake in a bit of "fun," if you catch my drift. My conundrum is, should I ask my friend if the person in question is her husband by showing her the message and arouse possible unnecessary suspicions, or should I just keep it to myself for now and hope that it's just an uncanny coincidence that he looks exactly like her husband?

 

Ask her. She will know if it's her husband or not plus if you never bring it up you would be essentially lying by omission. I would want my friends to be honest with me.

If it's not him she'll say so and then she wouldn't be suspicious because she'd know for sure it was just a case of mistaken identity.

If it is him then she'll know it and her suspicions wouldn't be "unnecessary".
