    I guessed a roughly logarithmic increase with respect to power, but this is interesting. Cube root, you say? This does make logical sense. It is the same relation that determines the dissipation of solar intensity with respect to distance. I expect it would only hold at optimal altitudes. Down lower, the earth itself absorbs the blast, reducing the volume affected.

      The North Korea issue is eerily like the Bin Laden issue.

      Bin Laden declared war on the west in 1997 and promptly started attacking Marine barracks, embassies, and our Naval ships. With each attack he used more sophisticated methods and went for bigger targets.
      The US response? Throw a bunch of missiles into the dessert and call it done.
      Clinton pretty much took the attitude that Bin Laden was a whack job and no real threat to the US.
      Until 9/11/2001 that is.

      North Korea has proclaimed a goal of nothing short of the downfall of the US.
      The Obama administration took the view that really, North Korea didn't have much ability to do anything, and even took North Korea off the terrorist lists after North Korea agreed to stop it's nuclear program.
      Which they ultimately violated by setting off a nuclear test blast.
      Now so far Kim hasn't set loose his terrorists, but then if his plan was an EMP over North America, it makes sense that he'd take a longer view on things than Bin Laden did.

    Shooter, years ago I thought the same thing. It is just a color. I didn't have any problems with color then.
    But them people were told that it wasn't just a color. People of that color kept changing what they called themselves and expected the rest of the people to accept anything they chose. As soon as we accepted one thing it was changed and we were wrong for even saying the word they had chosen on their own a short time back. They were allowed to use the word but others didn't have the same right.

    Then we were told we should accept people of that color the same as other colors and demanded to be treated the same.
    Then we were told people of that color had to be given special rights other color didn't have.
    We were told cops couldn't stop that color. That color had preference in all jobs. That color was giving preference when applying to college.
    We were told that color could have organizations that other colors were not allowed to have.

    No, it is just not a color. It is supposed to be but the people of that color made sure it will never be that way.
