In January of 2001 the official US Unemployment rate was 4.2%. At the of George Bush's term in January of 2009 the Unemployment rate was 7.6%. Unemployment increased 3.4% under George Bush and only a 1.6 increase so far under Barack Obama which makes him nearly three times better than Bush on employment/unemployment.

Obama's "liberal political pedigree" is a product of his life upbringing and ideology. He really believes in "spreading the wealth around." However, he has no idea of how wealth is created. His only useful purpose is to illustrate to free Americans what we had and what we are about to lose. What we are experiencing in real time is the tremendous damage an ideologue can do to our country and our freedoms.

Unfortunately and something President Obama hopes to change, when US corporations cut jobs in the US and create jobs in foreign countries the number of "long term unemployed" as well as the number of middle class Americans slipping into poverty will increase. Which is something President Obama is going to address in major job creation proposals in a couple weeks.

But in the meantime as long as US corporations cut 2.9 million US jobs and create 2.4 million jobs in foreign countries and hide that fact from Americans to keep their corporate welfare there is not a lot President Obama can do with the obstructionist conservative/Republican/Tea Baggers in congress protecting the wealthiest 5% and corporate welfare.
