Addressing "Climate change" is an admirable but inherently doomed plan. It does provide a marvelous way for the robbers to rob.

Shooter will be most interested to see who profits from Obama's newest edict. It is safe to predict that it won't be the climate or the average citizen.

And for those who shout out that we need new renewable energy sources, you know, like Hydro; please take a look at our biggest hydro programs; Hoover and Glen Canyon dams. Take a look who profited from them, and the damage these "environmental projects" did to the environment of the South West.

Recently, the governing board of the Colorado River Project warned all upstream users that starting this year they may be required to release all of their water reserves. That means that Flaming Gorge, McPhee, Roosevelt and other man made reservoirs in the Colorado River drainage basin will have to dump their water into Lake Powell and Lake Mead, to avoid those reservoirs dropping below "useable pool" (in other words, they get so low they can't generate power). The bean and alfalfa farmers who built McPhee reservoir, you know, to control flooding, are up in arms and threatening a revolt. The idea of releasing "their" water, so Las Vegas can light up the sky and Los Angeles can have it's swimming pools, has their underwear bunched right up.

Incidentally, the water stored in McPhee, you know, so it doesn't anything is used to grow grass and beans. I mean, you gotta do something with all that water, right? The fact that the Dolores had never, not once, flooded anything but a few cow pastures in recorded history, was conveniently not mentioned when they were justifying the damn. The fact that since McPhee was built the only people who have profited are the farmers who proposed it has not been widely publicized.

Meanwhile, water is being released out of lake Mead in an experiment to "save" the Colorado River ecology at the gulf of Mexico, which hasn't seen ANY Colorado River water flow by in 12 years. We're burning up one ecology to try and save another that is already changed forever.

Follow the money. It's a solid bet that the ones profiting from whatever "green initiative" is being proposed don't give a damn about the environment.

Since that time, 1,900 investigations have been opened to look into stimulus waste, fraud, and abuse (although not all are linked to the green-energy funds), and nearly 600 convictions have been made. Of that $80 billion in clean energy loans, grants, and tax credits, at least 10 percent has gone to companies that have since either gone bankrupt or are circling the drain.

So far, 34 companies that were offered federal support from taxpayers are faltering — either having gone bankrupt or laying off workers or heading for bankruptcy. This list includes only those companies that received federal money from the Obama Administration’s Department of Energy and other agencies. The amount of money indicated does not reflect how much was actually received or spent but how much was offered. The amount also does not include other state, local, and federal tax credits and subsidies, which push the amount of money these companies have received from taxpayers even higher.

The problem begins with the issue of government picking winners and losers in the first place. Venture capitalist firms exist for this very reason, and they choose what to invest in by looking at companies’ business models and deciding if they are worthy. When the government plays venture capitalist, it tends to reward companies that are connected to the policymakers themselves or because it sounds nice to “invest” in green energy.

Other Presidents have managed to work with the opposition.
Other administrations, with less leverage have managed to pass legislation
Obama has the support of the Senate and a good showing in Congress
