  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

And once again the sheep on the right are told just how to bleat. Next, we'll hear them chanting "love it or leave it", and the National Guard will be gunning down college students.

I see I have to give you another history lesson. The person responsible for sending the National Guard in at Kent State was the Governor of Ohio, one Jim Rhodes, a Republican.

these simpering morons need to go home, cut their hair and get a job.

bad days in the US are when the stock market dips 10% and you can't leverage buy that condo you want.

bad days in ROK are when that 5-ton slips off a road into your rice paddy destroying your corp and you don't know if you will have money to feed your family through those frigid winters.

these whiny bastards are crying about college loans, that they can't get jobs with their degrees, and how it should be free. . . maybe they should have considered that before getting sub par grades (and suing people like my aunt for not passing them anyway to become the nurse with the needle that sticks you at the hospital) or paying 50k a year for a degree in 14th century basket weaving and interpretive art.

If the US was really as harsh as these morons claim they wouldn't have the resources to sit outside on their asses holding signs for cameras while drinking $5 starbucks.

You are correct on Kent State, but since 1987 the President can and has on several occasions, supplanted a state governor as the state guards commander in chief.

Just out of curiosity, since some people are assuming that Occupy Wall Street is a US only problem, you should know that it has spread elsewhere, and thus we, North of your Fence have been seeing images of it on our news as well.
Now I realize some of you view Canada as a non-country and the world revolves around the US, at least that's the image portrayed on this website, but some of your nasty ideals have caused strife elsewhere.
Thankfully, due to heavy Government regulations of Financial institutions we have not suffered the economic meltdown you folks south of the fence have.

    But a few issues seem to some similarities and I am wondering what peoples solutions are;

What do you say to the older folks, the retiree's who are in the protest, folks whom have worked and saved their entire lives, only to find their retirement funds are gone, used to help bail out banks and major corporations? That it was some how their fault for not preparing? That they didn't work hard enough? That is one reason behind the protest.

What do you say to the students who would like to find work but can't because there are no jobs to be had? You know, work at some entry position job, save cash and go to University? Work harder?
Or is it simply better they don't go to university at all if they can't afford it? That higher education should only be for those with the financial means to do so? That would be a very small portion of the population.
Many students are having to rely on students loans, or grants to pay for schooling in the hopes they can find above minimum wage (poverty) jobs.
Which nowadays appears to be as common as unicorns. So when they come out they are forced into finding below minimum wage jobs to pay off student loans, but what I've read in this thread is that it's their fault. They should have consulted the crystal ball to see what jobs would be available after graduation.

Or being unemployed because you have no experience, OR, better yet, being unemployed because your not employable because your unemployed.

From what I've gleaned talking to folks is the protest isn't about abolishing commerce and creating a vast commune, it's about leveling out the playing field, making Major Corporations accountable to the public. And prohibiting private corporations from influencing Governmental Policy.
That the people should not be sacrificed on the alter of the Economy God.
The protest at it's very core is protesting the idea that those who have the money should make the rules.
If consumers have no cash for goods you won't be selling product, will you?

Of course I expect many will still say "work harder then".. well pretty much the only jobs available these days is in industry, working in mines etc etc. Or flipping burgers.

If you can't afford college or university, don't go. If your poor even while working three jobs, well work harder. That's the gist I'm getting from people that oppose the protests.
And if your retirement fund gets used by the Government to bail out failing corporations who fund said Government, well too damned bad, you should have prepared better.
Is that the idea from you folks who seem to think the protest is comprised of hippies and pot smokers?
It's boiling down to uneducated masses ruled by a new Aristocracy created by money. Neo-feudalism. But hey, you want your kids treated as serf's by all means go ahead.. continue along the way it's been.
Governments are controlled by Corporations, not the people.
And merchants should never be in charge of public well being.

The protest is against exploitation and greed, self interest and pork barrel politics. Not against fair trade, equitable commerce and productive industry.

Capitalism, like communism, works in theory, until it is exploited by those with self-interest in mind.

Krieg, shut the fuck up about our country, you Anti-American douche.

For real, you're not superior to us, at all.

Now before you go turning your nose up and assuming I'm calling you Anti-American for trying to talk about something going on in our country like you have a fucking clue.. I'm calling you Anti-American for the obvious delusion of superiority you seem to have towards us.

And I'm telling you to shut the fuck up about things happening in our country because you don't have a damn clue.

    Fuck off.

Excellent post and questions and I think you really did a good job of capturing a better understanding of what's really going on and who these protesters really are. I see people my age, working people, professional people and former marines taking part in the protests.

In fact this Marine, Sgt. Shamar Thomas, of the 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion briefly became the voice of the movement yesterday when he criticized the police of excessive force and reminded them they were unarmed Americans not enemy in a war zone.

    http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/10/...-this-is-our-time-to-change-greed-in-america/

I also watched Sgt Thomas today on TV explain how he and his fellow soldiers had to act when they were pelted with rocks on patrol. He said the success of their mission depended on gaining the trust and cooperation of the majority of the people instead of just trying to track down and retaliate the rock throwers.

To me that was a rather profound piece of advice for law enforcement from a soldier.

Funny how you can't answer or refute a single one of the things many of us have pointed out about this "protest".

Oh I see what's going on in your "United States" and really, don't give a shit beyond the fact it is influencing our country. And to that end we too have protests, as you would know IF you bothered to read my entire post instead of your usual knee-jerk reaction. Thus I make a post and an observation.

Nor do I give a moments' thought as to what your wants or demands are baller. But by all means, froth away.

That was my snap judgment, too.

It turns out that 85% of them do work. Which I suppose means that they are protesting, at least in part, because they resent working and don't want to?

The vast majority of OWS protesters and sympathizers are also Obama voters, which is why the Democrats and Pres. Obama in particular are reaching out to them. But this is being viewed increasingly as a fatal mistake, because while the organizers/funders of OWS have a coherent platform, most of the protesters have no idea what that platform is and are camping out to promote their own narrow self interests.

The only discernible common thread appears to come from the funding sources, which of course are radical left- a strange mix of anarchists and Marxists (George Soros/Tides and SEIU being the chief firebrands).

Obama has gone to extreme lengths in the past three years to brand himself not as the socialist that his voting record suggests, but as the progressive centrist that people actually want. The smartest thing for him to do would be to disassociate himself with these ruffians and send in the water cannon.

But Obama is not particularly smart.

    Despite his 160 IQ. :razz::wink:8)
