I totally understand how there could be a thriving debate about internal American domestic policies between Americans. What I don’t understand is why non Americans are entering into the debate as this does not affect your countries in the least. I imagine the argument is that you are righteously indignant about racism or such things.Ok assuming that is valid then why target the US so exclusively? Here is a short video of the Chinese treatment of an ethnic minority. To be consistent why is this never brought up in ethical debate? China is no more sovereign than the United States.

 

If you don't want non Americans to put in their 2 bobs worth then I suggest you start up your own "Americans only social group".

But while you post your internal politics in the "public forum" then it's open for everyone to comment on.

I think, quite frankly, it's because y'all never once stop hootin' and hollerin' about how you're the greatest. It's the volume, the shrillness, the unflagging self-aggrandizement. It gets old, fast.

The US is pretty great. I'll agree with that statement, unhesitatingly. Love it, love many of the people that live there, etc., etc. Right now it fucking breaks my heart, but I am clinging to the basic faith that you'll get upright and fix this shit.

You can holler about greatness to each other all you want. I think all the bunting is really cute, honestly. But when you step onto an international stage, that message falls on international ears, and you're going to attract some of us who know that, in fact, you're not the greatest. Great? Yes. Greatest? No.

And like magpie said, if you want to talk about the way Chinese treat their own people, then put up a thread and let's talk about that. Of course, they haven't joined in droves and aren't all over this board lauding the Paramount Leader, so, you know, it's a smidge different. Kind of like talking about people who can't be there to defend themselves.

But see, here, this is an international board. People from all over. Lots of us aren’t American. And not only do we not have to agree, but we don’t have to be silent about it.

“Doing just fine” is subjective. There’s a whole world out there with a differing view from yours. Get used to it. Same goes for ‘relevance’. If you count constant overreach and interference, well sure, there’s demonstrated international relevance. If you count alliances and military support, same thing. But it sure ain’t all roses and teddy bears.

How many accounts do you see with flags in them that aren’t American? Yeah. I thought so. One thing Americans are the absolute best at is bull and bluster. I concede. The rest of us are pretty fucking quiet on the both the bull and bluster scales.

Is anyone under the impression that the US rounds up dissidents and sends them to re-education centers which are effectively concentration camps?

China does do this!

People in American jails were found guilty of committing crimes that they chose to commit.

What crimes should be overlooked and which guilty set free?

Are murderers merely victims of the American system? Are burglars? Are rapists? Are people who traffic narcotics to children?

To compare arresting political dissidents in China to the lack of healthcare in the US as being equivalent political crimes is beyond redemption.

I’m not making an argument here. A question was asked, and I answered it, as I can, since I’m not American. You, as an American, really can’t answer the question. Your citizenship makes you ineligible. Doesn’t stop you, but invalidates your viewpoint.

And to the OP’s point, if there were a bunch of Chinese profiles talking Chinese politics on this board, one side bragging about how great China’s policies are, I’m sure they’d get some engagement on that.

But there aren’t, thus they don’t.

What there are on this board are a shittonne of UK citizens. What aren’t they doing? Strutting around bragging about how great they are. Fuck it’s even in the name and they still don’t brag about it! Same with Aussies. Canadians. Europeans.

The red blooded American patriots on XNXX say that non Americans do not have the right to criticize the United States. When I criticize the United States they tell me to move to another country. They do not want their prejudices to be disturbed. They want an echo chamber where everyone chants: USA! USA!

 

I have no problem with anyone criticizing the US even foreigners but I do have a problem with people criticizing the US for offenses that are much worse in other countries about which they are silent.

 

The U.S. was based upon an idea, turns out it was a rather successful idea.

Today that very idea is ridiculed by those that promote true globalism in the name of socialism.

The Idea of the U.S. is based upon individualism, and not collectivism, and shamed due to this nations success.

Just plain jealousy.

 

There’s that but the animosity against the United States and the casual disregard of human rights abuses elsewhere feels like it comes from another place.

There is something about the US that really challenges some from abroad. It has to be more than just economic jealousy.

I think it’s that we are successful and doing it non collectively and that should be wrong and we are being rewarded for it. Where’s the karmic judgment?

Also we allow for almost unlimited freedom of speech and everyone knows that there are some things so clearly wrong that no one should be able to say them.

This is something I hear regularly from my British friends in particular.
