Jesus dude, chill out already. They're going through a transition. They lost Martinez and a host of other players that were important to their success. At the same time, they've got some solid players like Crawford, Gonzales and others, and they have plenty of young talent that is still growing and maturing.

Sure, Lackey might have been a mistake but they had to do something like that. Beckett isn't getting any younger, Dice K had fallen on hard times, and the only other guys they had are what.. Bucholz? Lester?

Your team will be just fine. Crawford will bounce back. Young players will get better. You'll make trades and signings that work like your team has done for years.

Relax.

We went 25 years without a single major championship. I'm pretty sure I know what it's like to be a fan of teams that disappoint you every year.

At least your team tries. Three of our teams have had the same problems for years without ever fixing them (manager/coach, lack of discipline, no order, whatever) and the one that does try always seems to fail. But at least they give it their all to try to put together a winning team.

Things could be a lot worse. Believe me.

This isn't the same organization that blew it in '03 and other years. You have to remember that. Your organization has been building the right way for almost a decade now.

 

Francona is gone, btw. Today. I'm not a Bosox fan, but I am a fan of Francona. I absolutely loved him when I was a lot younger and he played for the Denver Bears, the Expos triple-A club. I wish him the best.

No way that is happening. I think the team will look a lot different next year. Drew...gone, Veritek...gone, Ortiz..very well could be gone, Pap...also could be gone. I don't think the Sox will pay either Papelbon or Ortiz what they are looking for.

Did I say that would win the AL East? 85-77 might be good for 3rd place, but probably 4th. That's where they will be with the same team.

They won't, of course, HAVE the same team. There will be major moves.

BUT, until those major moves are MADE and the new mix takes the field, there is no way to know if the changes will result in a 75-87 team or a 95-67 team.
