Racism is a curse to mankind. Humans in all seven continents cannot be same/similar. There has been suppression of one skin on the other in the last millenium, world wars have been fought on castes/boundaries/conflicts/confusion. Inside every human being the organs are same. they function exactly similar. Then why this hypocracy?

The reasons why we are all racist.

1. Human nature - it is our natural instinct for some reason, I generally sit at asian tables during lunch "by instinct". I see alot of racial bonding of this types amoung blacks and whites as well as any other race.
2. Culture - racist cultures allows for more racism
3. Education - we are taught that racism is wrong, but education is something we forget when we walk out of the classroom.
4. Religion - apparently the bible's character (especially the important ones) were all freaking middle eastern. In the bible the stories hint at ALOT of racist hate.
5. Selfishness - we all want stuff to be for ourselves, if not, for our families, if not, for our race and country. The olympics makes that spirit happen.

Like I'm saying, racism is natural, just like alot of other "wrong" shit. I mean, thats why people grow "mature". Self control and wisdome is the ideal solution to eliminate public displays of racism. This anti-racism seems more like a cultural thing more than anything else. Bottom line is (and since this is an online forum), I'm racist, but I have the wisdom and self control to not be racist in public. I try to eat with asians, cheer on asian athletes, and fuck with asians. I'm scared to death of blacks, even more terrified of whites, and if prefered, would generally go with mexicans as a last resort. This is because I sometimes say the wrong shit when I start drinking.

it might be natural for you to be racist, but it isn't human nature. hate and racism comes from ignorance, and people's own closed mindedness. I admit, that when I was really young, and when I didn't know any non-caucasian people or even people from the city besides my cousins, that I saw them as different and "scary", but since then I've been around all types of people, of all races, a lot of em everyday at school or through playing ball, and I realized that people are people, regardless of what's on the outside. Hell I've been friends with some "scary" looking black dudes, but they were really good guys, and probably still are. If I'm prejudice at all, it's based on who somebody is on the inside, and how they are and are towards others especially. I've known a lot more white punks than black ones in my life, and the only black people who I've known that do the whole "ghetto black guy" thing, do it for the same reason white guys do: because they're really scared little boys who for some reason or other, need to try to feel big and feel good about themselves.

But I mean this is just an observation from an university society. No, I dont mean the "racism" like beatings and KKK shit. I mean the subtle stuff you see in nearly every corner of society.

Look at the amount of same race marriages, same race churches, or just human groupings during lunches, parties, or any other gathering. The surface of racism is really revealed in these events.

To tell you the truth. I'm terrified of white people. I'm terrified of black people. I am always putting on a show and feeling very dizzy when I'm near them. To be quite honest, it is because I'm so terrified of saying the wrong things. I just stick to being positive and fake as hell.

That is racism because I'm treating them differently, even if it is out of fear.

 

I know exactly what you meant, and I used to be like that before too, but then I actually got to know a lot of people of different races, and now I see everybody, no matter what they look like on the outside, as being just people.

but it isn't human nature, it's learned, no matter how subtle. it will take many years to get over racism as a world really, but it starts by not making it out to be okay, or natural, or normal, and actually educating people and most of all, allowing and encouraging diversity, so that ignorance isn't possible anymore.
