I tend to stay in touch with ex girlfriends and sexual acquaintances. I am regularly reminded by an ex that back when we were teenagers, I fucked her on the bonnet of my car. After watching a programme last night on the effect that porn has on the brain and how addictive it can be, I felt the need to resurrect this thread. It was an alarming programme.

Let me say that I'm not here for the porn, and some of the images, especially the gifs, disgust me. I explored the things I wanted to explore, and it no longer interests me. Sadly some are so desensitised by hardcore porn that they become incapable of being aroused simply by being with another human being. A new generation is growing up with instant access to all sorts of images that they are not ready to understand in context, and think that it's normal.

 

It really is normal, nothing is static, norms change as society changes.

We have a hard time accepting that the majority of people think differently than we do, on any given subject.

Maybe 'normal' has changed. My point is, the programme was presented by one of the producers of 'Loaded' lad's mag, so he was producing porn a decade or so ago. He now has a young family and had moved on to other things. His mag was basically soft core porn - a few boobs or girls kissing, that sort of thing. He was alarmed to discover just what you get from a simple search for porn on the internet - rather than those 'naughty' images, you are straight into anal sex, bestiality and paedophilia.

When he was a child, it was difficult to get hold of porn, but now it's easy. All you need is an internet connection. His conclusion was that it's impossible to stop or ban - today's parents have to have 'that' talk with their children much earlier so that they know how to process the images they will come across. The teenage brain is very susceptible to acquiring experiences that give them that thrill, and it's far easier for them to become addicted and/or desensitised.

We had the same problem with "water infection" or urinary tract infections after sex. The simple rule is for her always to get up and have a pee straight after sex of any kind. It worked for us. No problem fo maybe 30 years after a few years of regular problems. If that doesnt work for you, try a drink with a sachet of urinary alkalizer added before sex. That will change the pH of her pee and then it will change back. Bugs that can live at one pH usually cannot live in the other so you kill all of them. As I understand it, Urine is usually sterile.

 

When we visited Egypt a few years ago, my wife saw the local construction workers eyeing the girls walking by. One had her long dress ride up a tiny amount and a bit of ankle showed. The construction boys all thought that was fair enough and couldnt take their eyes off her. I think kids will be exposed to more porn and less easily aroused by a bit of skin on display, but will they be any more promiscuous Cija? I wonder what harm is done by being desensitized. I think a lot of harm could come from being desensitized to sex from porn. For starters, some boys could believe that all girls/women love anal sex, group sex, rough sex. I could go on and on.

I agree that parents should talk about sex at an earlier age, but I don't really know how kids could have a good role model for sex. Relationships yes, but sex? There is no way of knowing what a persons sex life is like, so how would kids have a good role model?

There are stories all the time about kids having sex at school, on the school buses, etc. When I was growing up, I'm 43, you NEVER heard of this happening on a regular basis. There were "fast" girls for sure, but it wasn't the norm.

Then there is the whole "sexting" thing. The internet is a phenomenal tool for good, but it can also be bad.

I saw my parents had a loving relationship and I know they had good sex but you are right about not really knowing what sort of sex that was. If i was ever there after that very first time, I was not aware of it. I knew they treated each other with respect and that is very different from a lot of porn. I guess kids could easily get the wrong idea and that is bad. Perhaps the internet will change people's expectation for sex? Do 99% of young women shave their genitals because their boyfriends expect that? I have no idea. But I am older than 43
