The White House Press Office has doubled down today and insists that the Trump inauguration did indeed have the biggest audience in American history. He made good points. Made a lot of sense.

Not that it really matters. But I think this is another tempest in a teapot which, in the end, will backfire on the media, ,just like all the other shit they've tried to stir.

 

Okay... whatever...

But this whole inauguration attendance thing... I mean it's all crap from the start.

First you have the fact (which even the die-hard Hillary fans can't deny) that upwards of 92% of people in the DC area voted for Obama in 2008. And given Trump has campaigned on "draining the swamp" (putting many of those people out of work), I think we can all agree it's a fair bet that not many Beltway locals voted for Donald.

Add to that, the fact that CNN and the rest of the media were scaring people away from the inauguration by openly speculating that IED's might rain on the heads of attendees from drones.

Add to that all the general mayhem throughout the city and how it wasn't anything like what you could call family friendly.

And yet, there were still hundreds of thousands of people there. Most of whom had to travel. Was it a half million? More? Less? Who knows. Who cares. It was a lot of people. And millions watched on TV. And many tens of millions watched on social media. More than Obama? Yes, most likely.

But... so what? Who cares?

The left is bitching and moaning about this. I guess I do not understand the point they are trying to make.

 

The point that they are trying to make is....... Trump lied.

Certainly the media didn't lie.

Well, that is what what told me, that's their well intended concern...how can Trump be trusted when he lied about his inaugural attendance...I can't make this shit up.

 

The smaller crowd may have been due to the weather reports, who knows. The media reported it. Big deal. To give a speech in front of the CIA and cry about it is a little embarrassing. He should have saved it for a tweet.

That's not the point. Everyone knows Trump lies and has no great grasp on the truth. After all, he can mock a disabled person and then say he didn't do it, even when it's on video tape.

The point is, and try to follow me here, Trump and his people lie when they don't need to. Lying is a useful tool in all parts of life, but only if you're good at it. It doesn't really take that much to do it, but inept lying is a sign of real bad stupid. You don't get many chances. They blew their first one for the boss's ego.

It's not a matter of lies, it's stupid lies to protect the man's ego. We don't need a stupid President, although some people will find that very useful. Once again, the GOP finds itself in the position of defending a fuck up.
