Democrats were the reason why the 64 civil rights bill passed and was signed into law by a Democrat president.

 

No, it was presented by a despicable president, carried forward by a despicable president when the first one was assassinated, and passed by CONGRESS, which was made up of both despicables and deplorables.

"Senator Richard Russell of Georgia pledged that he and his colleagues in the southern caucus would fight the bill to the bitter end. 'Despite overwhelming odds,' he proclaimed, 'those of us who are opposed to the bill are neither frightened nor dismayed.' ​

The vote that ended the DESPICABLE led filibuster was 71 to 29—27 deplorables and 44 Despicables. 6 deplorables and 21 despicables voted against ending the filibuster.
Got that? Of 65 despicables in the senate, 21 voted (a full third) against it. Of 33 deplorables, 6 (less than 20%) voted against.
The Civil Rights act finally passed by 73-27, almost exactly the same count that ended the filibuster.

The filibuster and almost every bit of resistance came from southern DESPICABLES.
The violence that followed was almost all in southern DESPICABLE led states.
And even before that, Eisenhower forced the desegregation of Little Rock schools using Federal Troops.

MLK and desegregation in Birmingham?
The Medgar Evers murder in Mississippi?
When DESPICABLE governor George Wallace promised he would stand in the doorway of the University of Alabama and swore no "nigger" would cross it's doorway so long as he drew breath? Remember, Kennedy sent in the troops, and Wallace decided he preferred breathing after all?

All of this, every bit of it, was despicables in southern states opposing civil rights, even opposing their President.

In the 1960's there were more despicables who opposed civil rights than supported it. In the 1960's there were more deplorables who supported civil rights than opposed it.

 

So shooter, remember the "Unite the right" rally in Charlottesville? All those white supremacists protesting the removal of confederate monuments. So tell us why white supremacists want to save those confederate monuments?

So with passage of the Civil Rights act, that more deplorables supported than despicables, the southern caucus suddenly decides that those deplorables were just the ticket to advance their racism. They could count on the party that played a major role in passing the civil rights act to embrace their racism. Support their Jim Crow laws. Tolerate their violence against minorities.

So because more deplorables supported civil rights legislation and despicables, all the crackers decided they'd join the deplorables.

Does that make sense to you?

And the southern caucus "immediately switched" because the party that was more opposed to civil rights could no longer be counted on to continue accepting their racism? The party, by the way, that later included then Senator Joe Biden, who, you recall, opposed busing. Thought his kids would end up in a "racial jungle". That was in the early 70's. The same time that George Wallace was running for Despicable President on a platform of recognizing the "forgotten White Americans" and "Segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever".

Remind us. When did Wallace switch from despicable to deplorable. Cause, according to your assertion, the despicables immediately switched to deplorables because despicables opposed the civil rights act.
