Commemorative plaques or statues for the war dead on either or both sides are honorable. Preserving battle fields that so many lost their lives upon should be preserved as hallowed ground. A memorial for all Americans.
Statues of Robert E Lee or the like in the town square? They gotta go.
Germany remembers and honors their war dead but you don’t see any Hitler statues.

The 'war dead' is not to be a political issue, no matter how the leftists want it to be.

You're only enabling the political divide..just why the fuck are you doing it?...why?...why I ask.

The Civil War was not a representation of Slavery girl..it was about Secession.

Even Lincoln recognized that Slavery was legal in that era because of the Southern Democrats and their inherent greed and absolute uselessness of the human individual.

A divided Country is a weak Country.

Whether these statues and memorials should be swept out of the public eye is a complicated issue, one that I do not think has a “right” answer — and possibly not even a “best” answer. Whatever we decide, it needs to be decided by our elected officials after we have the opportunity to offer up our opinion(s).
All of us.
Not just the triggered rioters.

 

Ok first note the laughable lie. It is mostly towns, cities, states, and the US capitol removing the Confederate statues. They are the ones wh0 put them up in the first place and have decided to remove them now. Because honoring Confederate Traitors is far more than just racism. We can trace coddling the southern traitors all the way to the attempted coup to overthrow our government. That has to stop. And the real truth about the Civil War to continue slavery needs to be told and taught. No more lost cause lies because they have proven to be the most dangerous thing to our democracy since the Civil War. And that will happen because Blacks are now turning out to vote in numbers never seen before.
