  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

Oh, you think Keyes would have done much better if he had a year to plan? C'mon, Ricky, grow a brain. Keyes is a reactionary nutcase.

Kimiko, would that be the equivalent of you saying anything positive about someone who is white? Alan Keyes is so morally superior to Obama I love the contrast between the two. Where is Nancy or Harry? I have not heard either of them trying to dictate anything to us lately, mmm i wonder why. :) https://2012obama.com/presidential-polls/palin-obama-2012-presidential-election/?page=14

Oh, did I misinterpret you, Ricky? Then you must have been saying that Obama couldn't have trounced him 70% to 27%, because he was such an awful candidate. Trouncing only happens when both candidates are GOOD. Right?

so... instead of Palin, how about Lisa Ann for a VP candidate come next election... At the very least, she could use her skills of "diplomacy" to make other country leaders see eye to eye, or sell the tapes of such attempts for profit...

Direct from the former Snake Oil Politician

Palin: A "Bunch of snake oil science" on global warming

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who set up a task force to deal with climate change when she was governor, on Monday lampooned studies supporting global warming as a "bunch of snake oil science."
Palin spoke in Redding, Calif., to the Sierra-Cascade Logging Conference, an event from which the media was barred. The Associated Press bought a $74 ticket and reported on the event.
The 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate continued her criticism of environmental laws - which include tighter standards on emission of greenhouse gases - enacted under California's Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Schwarzenegger has been a leader in the Western Climate Initiative, a coalition of governors from the West and premiers of three provinces in Western Canada. Gov. Chris Gregoire of Washington and British Columbia Premier Gordon Campbell are also leaders in the initiative.
On Monday, however, Palin argued that environmental regulations in California hamper business.
She also took out after the federal government's decision, made while the Bush administration was in office, to list polar bears as threatened under the Endangered Species Act.
Those promoting polar bear listing really want to shut down oil and gas leasing in Arctic coastal waters off Alaska, Palin argued.
"We knew the bottom line . . . was ultimately to shut down a lot of our development," Palin told the loggers. "And it didn't make any sense because it was based on these global warming studies that now we're seeing (is) a bunch of snake oil science."
It is unclear which studies Palin was referencing.
The 2006 Arctic Climate Impact Assessment, a product of research by 300 scientists from northern countries, warned that the Arctic is warming at a rate much faster than the rest of the Earth.
NASA has used satellite imagery to map the shrinking of the Arctic ice pack. The U.S. Geological Survey has mapped the rapid retreat of glaciers in Alaska, as well as the South Cascade Glacier in Washington's North Cascades.
Last week, a University of Alaska-Fairbanks professor coauthored a report on global impacts of the warming of the Arctic. It predicted the melting of the icepack, and melting of permafrost -- which releases large quantities of methane into the atmosphere -- will cause losses totaling $2.4 trillion in the next 40 years.
As governor - a job she quit last summer - Palin created a cabinet-level task force to deal with consequences of climate change in the 49th State.

Alaska has experienced a variety of impacts.
With the icepack forming later in the fall, Arctic villages have far less protection from early season storms. Vast swaths of forests on the Kenai Peninsula have been killed by spruce bark beetle infestations. Melting permafrost has caused the collapse of cliffs on the Arctic coast.
Palin told the loggers it was "providential" that President Obama did not return from the Copenhagen summit in December with a climate change treaty. Asked about the administration's effort to secure an agreement, Palin added: "I don't think much of it."

Stuck in the arctic ice that doesn’t exist. (file photo: EcoPhotoExplorers)
Last year as arctic sea ice melted to record levels, panic set in for many. But then, as the sea ice rebounded and froze again quickly in the 2007/2008 winter, making up for that record loss and reaching heights not seen for several years, many exclaimed that even though the ice areal extent had recovered, this new ice was “thin” and would likely melt again quickly. There were also many news stories about how the Northwest Passage was ice free for the first time “ever”. For example, Backpacker Magazine ran a story saying “The ice is so low that the photos clearly show a viable northwest passage sea route along the coasts of Greenland, Canada, and Alaska.”
Cashing in on the panic that has set in with the help of some climate alarmists, tour operators like Quark Expeditions of Norwalk Connecticut are offering polar expeditions catering to that “see it before it’s gone” travel worry. One of them is in fact a trip though the Northwest Passage on a former Soviet Icebreaker called the Kapitan Khlebnikov which is a massive 24,000 horsepower Polar Class icebreaker capable of carrying 108 passengers in relative luxury through the arctic wilderness. Here is some background on this icebreaker:
Kapitan Khlebnikov – The Kapitan Khlebnikov was built in Finland in 1981 and is one of three vessels of this class. Not simply an ice-reinforced ship, the Kapitan Khlebnikov is a powerful polar class icebreaker, which has sailed to extremely remote corners of the globe with adventurous travelers since 1992. It was the first ship ever to circumnavigate Antarctica with passengers in 1996-97. See more on this vessel at Wikipedia
According to Quark Expeditions, they’ve even fitted this icebreaker with a heated indoor swimming pool, exercise room and sauna, and a theater-style auditorium for “Expedition Team presentations” ( presumably so you can watch Gore’s AIT polar bear tears while in situ ). It is quite a difference from the travel conditions that Robert Peary experienced just 99 years ago when he reached the North Pole.
One of my alert readers, Walt from Canada, pointed out this story in the Globe and Mail on may 24th in the travel section. It seems the irony of a polar expedition to see such things as record sea ice loss being stopped cold by the very ice that doesn’t exist was not lost on the editors.
From the Globe and Mail article:
I am on the bridge of the massive Russian icebreaker Kapitan Khlebnikov, and the tension is palpable. We have hit ice – thick ice.
The ice master studies the mountains of white packed around the ship while the 24,000-horsepower diesel engines work at full throttle to open a path. The ship rises slowly onto the barrier of ice, crushes it and tosses aside blocks the size of small cars as if they were ice cubes in a glass. It creeps ahead a few metres, then comes to a halt, its bow firmly wedged in the ice. After doing this for two days, the ship can go no farther.
The ice master confers with the captain, who makes a call to the engine room. The engines are shut down. He turns to those of us watching the drama unfold, and we are shocked by his words: “Now, only nature can help this ship.” We are doomed to drift.
What irony. I am a passenger on one of the most powerful icebreakers in the world, travelling through the Northwest Passage – which is supposed to become almost ice-free in a time of global warming, the next shipping route across the top of the world – and here we are, stuck in the ice, engines shut down, bridge deserted. Only time and tide can free us

How about bringing your golbel warming ass to NJ and help me shovel this snow..Roadtoad:)

I must admit that I'm not up ON the latest developments in the Global warming war. However I know that most wars are fueled by economic interest rather than social or environmental concerns. I've often been told that if you want to find out the truth of any issue, follow the money.

    1) THE RESEARCH: There is a lot of money being spent on global warning research. Last summer someone hacked into the computer system of several scientist heading the debate on global warming. The released emails showed that the data being released in support of global warming was manipulated by the researchers. This put doubts in my mind about the validity of the global warming argument but I had to ask myself why these scientist would cheat on their research. The answer i came up with is that they depend on funding to keep the money coming in. No controversy = no funding, no books, no lectures and no one will pay attention to them.

    2) THE PROFITS: The main economic impact of global warming legislation is to prohibit further development of petroleum based energy sources. As the world's need for petroleum based energy grows, the supply will be decreased. The end result is that the cost of energy for powering our cars, electrical systems, heating and cooling will increase dramatically. So, while it may seem that the interest of the Oil industry are being damaged by the global warming controversy, they are in fact being helped as the Profits for Oil companies and countries supplying Oil will increase dramatically if development of new sources of oil are impeded.

I've learned that things are not always as they seem and that rather then taking sides we must look at the problem and see who stands to profit from the problem. Even if the problem is real we must be careful not to be manipulated by those who are looking to profit from our fears.

What the world really needs is to make a commitment to finding and implementing alternative sources of energy. That is something we should all support.

The problem being that the emails did NOT show that the scientists manipulated data to suit an agenda :)
