Trump's 'Putinite Republicans' raked over the coals by conservative leader

Former President Donald Trump and his cadre of "Putinite Republicans" are undermining and weakening America, warned Dan Hannan, a Conservative Party member of the U.K. House of Lords, in an op-ed for the Washington Examiner.

Last week's historic ouster of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), wrote Hannan, is an example of how Russian disinformation has sown mistrust in the U.S. political and media system, even among members of the same party.

"It is important to understand how hybrid warfare works. When Russian propagandists make obviously ludicrous claims — that Ukraine’s Jewish president is a Nazi, for example, or that Ukrainians are harvesting children’s organs — their purpose is not to convince but to sow doubt," wrote Hannan. "You are not supposed to come away thinking, 'Wow, those Ukrainians are fascists.' You are supposed to come away thinking, 'It’s all nonsense: CNN, RT, Fox, Jazeera, they’re all as bad as each other.'"

POLL: Should Trump be allowed to run for office?

"The profusion of news sources and the explosion of social media was a gift to foreign propagandists, and as the Senate Intelligence Committee laid out in detail, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s agents seized it," wrote Hannan. "Conservatives who criticized Trump were piranha-shoaled. In 2016, the piranhas were anonymous accounts with bad English. By 2020, thanks largely to artificial intelligence, they had become plausible, and politicians quailed before them. Why were the Russians so keen on promoting Trump? Did they have kompromat on him? Some commentators believe this would explain his warm words about Putin, but it seems likelier that the Russians saw him as a means to disrupt and delegitimize the U.S. political system."

These years of disruption, he continued, have turned the GOP from a party that was hawkish against Russia, into a party that comfortably welcomes people like former Trump strategist Steve Bannon, who believes the U.S. should ally with Putin because he wants to subjugate LGBTQ people. And Ukraine's "cameo role" in the first impeachment of Trump have left some MAGA supporters blindly wanting revenge on the nation.

"If you had told me 10 years ago that a Russian tyrant would be basing his hope for victory in an aggressive war on the election of a Republican administration, I’d have laughed," Hannan concluded. "How far my favorite party has fallen."

Trump finally pins the blame on Putin in new bid to stay out of jail

For years, former President Donald Trump has avoided agreeing with intelligence assessments that Russian President Vladimir Putin interfered on his behalf during the 2016 presidential election.

Most infamously, Trump rejected the American intelligence community's assessment about Russia's actions at a press conference in Helsinki, Finland where he stood next to Putin and said, "President Putin says it's not Russia, I don't see any reason why it would be."

But it seems that Trump will actually blame Putin for 2016 election interference if doing so will help keep him out of prison.

Politico's Kyle Cheney flags a legal filing by Trump's attorneys this week in which they dispute special counsel Jack Smith's claims that Trump has damaged Americans' faith in the electoral system by essentially arguing that Putin did it first.

"The Special Counsel's Office falsely alleges that President Trump 'eroded public faith in the administration of the election,'" the filing states. "The 2016 [Intelligence Community Assessment] uses strikingly similar language to attribute the origins of that erosion to foreign influence -- that is, foreign efforts to 'undermine public faith in the U.S. democratic process.'"

The filing went on to argue that "President Trump is entitled to the detailed information supporting the conclusions in the 2016 Election ICA... in order to demonstrate to a jury that he did not create or cause the environment that the prosecution seeks to blame him for."

What Trump's lawyers leave out is the fact that Trump openly encouraged Russia to hack political rival Hillary Clinton's email server and release her private communications.

When Russia eventually leaked hacked emails from Clinton's campaign to WikiLeaks, Trump eagerly promoted them while on the campaign trail as evidence of Clinton's purported corruption.

Republicans are secretly meeting with allies of 'Putin’s buddy' to end Ukraine aid: report

Congressional Republicans are meeting in secret this week with allies of the far-right Christian nationalist authoritarian Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán. Those allies, including representatives from a Hungarian government agency that reportedly organized a far-right U.S. group’s conference in Budapest, are working to support Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war against Ukraine.

GOP lawmakers, especially in the House but increasingly in the Senate, have been voicing strong opposition to the U.S. sending any additional funding to Ukraine.

“Members of the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs and staff from the Hungarian embassy in Washington will on Monday begin a two-day event hosted by the conservative Heritage Foundation thinktank,” The Guardian reported. The Heritage Foundation, once considered the premier conservative think tank, by 2016 was a pro-Trump group. Now, Heritage is behind the massive Project 2025, which aims to install tens of thousands of pro-Trump loyalists into the federal government if the ex-president re-takes the White House.

“The first day,” The Guardian explains, “includes panel speeches about the Ukraine war as well as topics such as Transatlantic Culture Wars. It is expected to feature guests including Magor Ernyei, the international director of the Centre for Fundamental Rights, the institute that organized CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) Hungary.”

Orbán, called “Putin’s Buddy” just last week by Politico, is “a strongman who cultivates close ties with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and who is widely seen as having undermined democracy and rule of law at home.”

“In other words,” wrote U.S. Senate Judiciary Chair Dick Durbin (D-IL), “Far-right Republicans are conspiring with Hungary’s extremist Russian-sympathic PM Viktor Orbán to help former KGB dictator Putin defeat democratic Ukraine. Ronald Reagan and John McCain must be looking on in utter disbelief.”

Many are outraged that Republicans will be meeting with Orbán’s allies in D.C. while refusing to publicly acknowledge their attendance at the anti-Ukraine events. To date the guest list has not been published.

National security expert, former U.S. Rep. Denver Riggleman (R-VA), blasted the GOP’s secrecy: “A list of every representative in that meeting with Orban should be made available to the press. Public servants shouldn’t hide in the shadows— especially when discussing decisions with foreign leaders that could benefit Vladimir Putin.”

Conservative commentator Bill Kristol explained, “Heritage Foundation and Viktor Orbán are not simply against aid for Ukraine. They are against Ukraine. They hate Ukraine, because a) they’re pro-Putin, and b) they hate liberal democracy, especially one fighting to defend itself against a brutal dictator.”

National security and international law expert Eugene Vindman, a retired U.S. Army colonel whose twin brother made national headlines when he blew the whistle on Donald Trump and was mercilessly targeted for his actions, blasted both the Hungarian prime minister and the GOP: “Viktor Orbán is actively interfering in domestic politics and colluding with extremist republicans to help Vladimir Putin. This is dangerous. Republicans must stop putting Putin ahead of U.S. national security interests.”

Tillis calls Vance remarks on Ukraine ‘total and unmitigated bull‑‑‑‑’

Tillis calls Vance remarks on Ukraine ‘total and unmitigated bull‑‑‑‑’

Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) on Monday dug into Sen. JD Vance’s (R-Ohio) recent remarks against sending further aid to Ukraine, calling the Ohio Republican’s comments “total and unmitigated bull‑‑‑‑.”

Vance, in an interview with former White House aid Steve Bannon earlier Monday, claimed some lawmakers are looking to cut Social Security benefits for more aid to Ukraine that he argued will be used so one of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s ministers “can buy a bigger yacht.”

When asked about Vance’s remarks later on Monday, Tillis told reporters, “I think it’s bull‑‑‑‑.”

“If you’re talking about giving money to Ukrainian ministers — total and unmitigated bull‑‑‑‑,” Tillis continued. “Not productive conversation … not real happy about it.”

On Sunday, Vance reaffirmed his opposition to sending additional aid to Ukraine and said he does not believe Ukraine will ever be able to prevail over Russia. He argued the U.S. needs to accept Ukraine will likely need to “cede some territory” to stop its fighting with Russia and questioned how billions in additional aid to Ukraine will help the war-torn country.

Presented with Tillis’s criticism later Monday, Vance said he believes Ukraine is “one of the most corrupt countries in Europe.”

“We know that a number of people have gotten rich in Ukraine, and … I think it’s naivety if you don’t think they’ve gotten rich with some of our money,” Vance told reporters.

Maintaining that Tillis is “one of his favorite colleagues,” Vance said the North Carolina Republican is “not living in reality.”

“Well, it’s never good to have Thom Tillis peeved at us,” Vance told reporters Monday, adding later, “But with all due respect to Thom, he’s not living in reality. There is no plausible pathway to the end of the war where Ukraine goes back to 1991 or 2014. It just isn’t … that’s not a desirable thing; it’s not a good thing.”

“It’s the reality that we’re living in, and if you can’t accept it, you’re never going to actually force negotiation that’s going to bring this thing to a close.”

Vance was among the Republican senators last week to block a bill that would’ve provided aid to Ukraine and Israel for their respective conflicts against Russia and militant group Hamas.

The $111 billion emergency supplemental package was requested by President Biden in October, and it also included aid for Indo-Pacific allies and funding for humanitarian aid in Gaza, in addition to the U.S. southern border and drug trafficking.

The Senate Republicans who voted against the bill cited a lack of border provisions and have repeatedly insisted on withholding votes until satisfactory provisions are attached to the motion.

Ukraine money likely to be delayed until January, Senate Republican says

As Ukraine’s war with Moscow approaches a two-year mark this winter, some lawmakers, like Vance, are hesitant to continue funding the war-torn country.

During this week’s trip to the U.S., Zelensky will meet Tuesday with Biden, along with House Speaker Mike Johnson, where they will likely discuss the stalled funding.

More U.S. aid can't help Ukraine, Kremlin says before Zelenskiy-Biden talks

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov attends a news conference in Moscow

MOSCOW (Reuters) - The United States cannot turn the tide of war in Ukraine by pumping tens of billions more dollars into the country, the Kremlin said on Tuesday, ahead of planned talks between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and U.S. leaders.

Zelenskiy will make his case for more U.S. aid for Ukraine's war against Russia during talks in Washington later on Tuesday with U.S. President Joe Biden and Congressional leaders at a time of increasing doubts among many Republican lawmakers.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia would "very closely" follow Zelenskiy's meetings in Washington.

"It is important for everyone to understand that the tens of billions of dollars pumped into Ukraine did not help it gain any success on the battlefield," Peskov told a regular news briefing.

"The other tens of billions of dollars that Ukraine wants to be pumped into its economy will also be doomed to the same fiasco... This cannot change the situation on the battlefield, but it also can't change the advance of the 'special military operation"," he said.

Moscow describes its military actions in Ukraine, launched on Feb. 24,2022, as a "special military operation" to demilitarise a country it says poses a direct threat to Russian security interests. Kyiv and its Western allies say Russia is engaged in an unprovoked war of aggression and a land grab.

Peskov said Ukraine's failures on the battlefield were undermining Zelenskiy's position.

The next round of U.S. aid for Ukraine has been held up by a demand from House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson and other Republicans that no more funds be dispatched unless steps are first taken to tighten controls on the U.S. border with Mexico.

Russia currently controls nearly a fifth of Ukrainian territory. Military frontlines have not budged very much in recent months despite a Ukrainian counter-offensive.

‘Well Done, Republicans’: Biden Cites Russian TV Host Who Praised GOP Opposition to Ukraine Aid

    Jennifer Bowers BahneyDec 12th, 2023, 6:04 pm

President Joe Biden made sure Republicans heard loud and clear that failing to extend more aid to Ukraine would be a win for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Putin is banking on the United States failing to deliver for Ukraine. We must, we must, we must prove him wrong,” Biden said at a joint news conference Tuesday with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“It’s stunning that we’ve gotten to this point. You know, we need to fully appreciate — fully appreciate — how this is being viewed around the world and being used by Russia.” Biden continued:

Russian loyalists in Moscow celebrated when Republicans voted to block Ukraine’s aid last week. The host of a Kremlin-run show literally said, and I quote, “Well done, Republicans That’s good for us,” end quote. Let me say that again: the host of a Kremlin-run show said “Well done, Republicans. That’s good for us.” That’s a Russian speaking. If you’re being celebrated by Russian propagandists, it might be time to rethink what you’re doing. History will judge harshly those who turn their back on freedom’s cause.

Zelensky was in the United States Tuesday to meet with senators on Capitol Hill, as well as with Biden. CNN’s Manu Raju said Zelensky received a “warm welcome,” but had “a high hurdle” in order to convince Republicans to green-light aid to Ukraine. In return for granting aid, Republicans have said they want a change in immigration laws to prevent the flow of people coming into the U.S. through the border with Mexico.

“So, even as Zelensky is making this pitch, we don’t expect many minds to be changed,” Raju said.
After the meeting, some senators told Raju they expected the unresolved issue to drag into 2024.

Biden’s national security bill, that was denied by Republicans last week, included $61 billion for Ukraine. Watch the clip above via CNN.

Putin was gloating in public after Republican moves to block US aid for Ukraine

    • Russian President Vladimir Putin held his annual phone in Thursday.

    • He gloated about Western support for Ukraine fading.

    • House Republicans are holding up a $61 billion aid bill.
It's usually hard to detect strong emotions in Vladimir Putin's public speeches.

But at his annual marathon phone-in today, the Russian president showed a hint of glee when he spoke about the dwindling prospect of Ukraine getting US aid.

"Today Ukraine produces almost nothing," he said, according to a BBC translation. "Excuse my vulgarity, but everything is being brought in as a freebie. But those freebies could run out at some point. And it seems that they are gradually running out.".

For months Russian and Ukrainian forces have been locked in a stalemate, with Russia losing tens of thousands of men as it seeks to prevent Ukrainian forces from breaking through its defenses.

But at today's phone-in, in which Putin fielded questions from journalists and ordinary Russians, the Russian president said that the balance is now tipping in Russia's favor.

Putin's comments were a barely concealed reference to the impasse in the US House of Representatives, where Republicans are blocking a $61 billion Ukraine aid bill.

Ukraine has been heavily dependent on US, and to a lesser extent European, aid throughout the conflict. Unless it receives more its capacity to fight Russia could be seriously compromised, or collapse entirely.

Putin has long claimed that Western democracies are frail and can't be trusted as allies, and analysts say he is counting on grinding out a win against Ukraine in a war of attrition.

The Biden administration is trying to persuade Republicans to unblock the bill before the end of the year, and on Monday Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy traveled to Washington to make a desperate plea. He said a failure to defeat Russia would endanger democracy internationally.

Republicans say that they want proof that more aid to Ukraine will help it achieve victory, and not just prolong the stalemate, and are also seeking increased border security spending.

But analysts claim that Republicans are doing Putin a massive favor, and helping him claw back the advantage in a war that has cost Russia 87% of its original invasion ground force.

Fiona Hill, who served as a Russia advisor in the Trump administration, told Politico that Republicans are so focused on humiliating President Joe Biden, that they've forgotten about the importance of resisting Russian aggression.

"They are thinking less about US national security, European security, international security, and foreign policy, and much more about how they can humiliate Biden," said Hill.

"In that regard," she continued, "whether they like it or not, members of Congress are doing exactly the same thing as Vladimir Putin. They hate that. They want to refute that. But Vladimir Putin wants Biden to lose, and they want Biden to be seen to lose as well."

With the US presidential election approaching, Donald Trump is widely expected to be the GOP nominee. The former president has long attracted controversy for his admiration for Putin, and on the campaign trail has criticized US support for Ukraine.

The Russian president will likely be hoping for more favors from Republicans as he seeks to break down Ukrainian resistance and erode its alliances in 2024.

U.S. Lawmakers Fear They’ve Already Emboldened Putin With Ukraine Aid Delay
    Jonathan Nicholson
Sat, December 16, 2023 at 10:49 AM MST·5 min read
    205

On Sept. 30, House Republicans stripped out of a stopgap spending bill about $6 billion for arms to be sent to Ukraine in its battle against Russian invaders. In October, the White House came back with a much larger request to arm Ukraine, in addition to Israel and Taiwan, topping $100 billion overall.

President Joe Biden’s proposal has been held up by Republicans. And while it’s not impossible that a deal trading stricter U.S. asylum policy, sought by the GOP, in exchange for Ukraine aid can be worked out before Christmas, full passage is unlikely after House members left town for the holidays Thursday.

The chamber isn’t set to return to business until Jan. 9, meaning more aid — if it’s approved at all — will be delayed. And that delay, say some Ukraine hawks on Capitol Hill, could be almost as dangerous as failing to send aid at all.

Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio), one of Ukraine’s most vocal defenders in the House, said the delay only incentivizes Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

“It gives him an adrenaline shot, oh yeah,” Kaptur said. “All of this commotion here caused by — I’m sorry to say — isolationist Republicans is hurting the soldiers in theater in Ukraine right now. Putin is broadcasting all this chaos on Russian TV every day, 24/7. So what they are doing is aiding and abetting the enemy.”

Biden, appearing with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy earlier in the week, said the delay in providing assistance was “the greatest Christmas gift they [Congress] could possibly give” to Putin.

Zelenskyy himself, in a speech to military officials at the National Defense University in Washington, made a similar pitch: “If there’s anyone inspired by unresolved issues on Capitol Hill, it’s just Putin and his sick clique.”

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) said the aid delay, combined with Putin’s near-open support for former President Donald Trump, is deeply worrying.

“Trump made that clear when he said, a couple of months ago at a CNN town hall, if he is president he’ll end the conflict in 24 hours,” Swalwell said. “To Putin, he receives that as, ‘Well, I’ve got the resources to grind this out, and I also know how to help Trump become president, because in [the election of] 2016 we interfered.’”

Trump has never revealed details of the secret plan he says would lead to a deal between Russia and Ukraine within 24 hours of winning the White House. But he has in the past said that he would be fine with letting Russia keep Ukrainian land, a condition that the Ukrainian government rejects.

In Russia, state television hosts often seen as spouting the government line have welcomed the aid delay.

“As of now, well done, Republicans. They’re standing firm,” said TV host Olga Skabeyeva. She went so far as to congratulate 81-year-old Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who had taken a stronger stance in favor of Ukraine but has since backed holding aid hostage for asylum changes, by saying, “Well done, Gramps!”

Putin himself was more circumspect in his year-end press conference, held Thursday. He said the aims for the war have not changed, and include demilitarizing Ukraine, ensuring its neutrality instead of seeing it join NATO, and “denazification” — or rooting out alleged Nazis in the Ukrainian government’s ranks, a premise that is widely seen as spurious.

“There will be peace when we will achieve our goals,” Putin said.

While Ukraine’s much-touted counteroffensive over the summer disappointed with only minimal territory gains, Russia’s attempt to increase the tempo of its operations in recent weeks has also failed to gain ground.

A declassified U.S. intelligence report said that Russia may have lost 13,000 troops in its attempt to claim the eastern Ukrainian town of Avdiivka, and that its total losses of killed and wounded were around 315,000. Russia’s invading force in February 2022 started out with around 200,000 soldiers.

Russia has also stepped up its strikes against the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv in recent days, with debris from one shot-down missile said to have injured 53 people on the ground.

Republicans on Capitol Hill blamed the White House for deciding to negotiate on asylum so late, or downplayed the impact of the aid delay.

Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.) said Ukraine is getting help from its European neighbors as well, not just the U.S.

“I’m not sure we’re quite as close to having exhausted our resources that we can direct there as we think,” he said.“The president needed to get serious earlier. They didn’t. And here we are.”

Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) said that he was less concerned about what’s happening in Ukraine than he was with slowing the flow of migrants across the U.S. southern border.

“Go down there and talk to the people in South Texas who are dealing with thousands of people pouring across the border while the people in this building forsake them,” Roy said angrily, referring to the U.S. Capitol.

“Then come back and talk to me about Putin and Zelenskyy.”

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) said the prospect of Trump winning the presidency again was enough to give Putin an incentive to wait out Ukraine and its allies, but he said that the delay should not be taken as a sign of weakness.

“Anybody who tries to draw conclusions from how long it takes Congress to act, he doesn’t know much about Congress,” Romney said.

“Ours has always been a slow process, and you can expect that to continue. But we typically get the job done when enough time is provided.”

Arguing for some accountability and restraint before pouring more money into the Ukraine/Biden pit is hardly supporting Putin.

No more than pushing HAMAS propaganda is anti semetic.

Although what american hater spews about Israel is fucking disgusting

Reacting to Donald Trump admiringly quoting Russian strongman Vladimir Putin to a New Hampshire crowd on Saturday, CNN's Jake Tapper dryly asked, "Who needs Pravda?" before launching into a scathing attack on the former president on Sunday morning.

Saturday Trump told rallygoers, "Joe Biden is a threat to democracy. He’s a threat. Even Vladimir Putin … says that Biden’s — and this is a quote – ‘politically motivated persecution of his political rival is very good for Russia because it shows the rottenness of the American political system, which cannot pretend to teach others about democracy.’”

Before taking up the former president's comments with his "State of the Union" panel, Tapper had a few things to say about the Republican 2024 presidential nominee frontrunner.

"You have Donald Trump repeating Russian propaganda, Trump citing Vladimir Putin," he began. "I mean, I'm sorry, but that is just empirically stunning."

"For any major presidential candidate to be quoting approvingly Vladimir Putin smearing American democracy. I don't care if it is Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump, it is absolutely stunning," he added.

Trump is charged with crimes because he is a criminal. Which has already been proven in courts of law.And people who deny that and deny the results of elections are traitors to the United States of America and aid and abet our enemies. That is how much they hate the United States of America.

Donald Trump echoes Vladimir Putin's attack on 'rottenness' of America's democracy

Former President Donald Trump quoted Russian President Vladimir Putin during a campaign rally, after the Russian leader earlier this year alleged the former president's criminal indictments show "the rottenness of the American political system."

Trump during a Saturday campaign stop in New Hampshire alleged that President Joe Biden is a "threat to democracy" before adding “Even Vladimir Putin … says that Biden’s, and this is a quote, politically motivated persecution of his political rival is very good for Russia because it shows the rottenness of the American political system, which cannot pretend to teach others about democracy.”

Putin made the comments at an economic forum in Russia in September.

Trump has long alleged without evidence that the four sets of criminal charges he faces are campaign interference from Biden's administration and other state and federal prosecutors.

The former president has been indicted in Washington and Georgia in connection with efforts to overturn his 2020 election loss to Biden. His two other criminal cases involve hush money payments in New York and the alleged mishandling of classified information in Florida.

Earlier this month, Trump set off alarms when he mocked questions about authoritarianism and said he would be a dictator only on "day one," of a second term in office.

During a Sunday rally in Reno, Nevada, Trump mentioned Putin only in passing during a discussion of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Trump criticized his indictments and the Biden administration at length, but did not cite Putin's criticism of those issues.

He spent most of his time on border security, pledging a mass deportation program. Nevada is holding both a primary on Feb 6 and a caucus on Feb. 8, but only the caucuses will be used to pick convention delegates.

    a) Trump has not been convicted of any criminal act.
    b) People who defend Trump's right to trial before he is called a "criminal" are not traitors to the United States; they are patriots for defending all that America stands for.
    c) People who call America a "shithole country" and a "banana republic" and who defend our sworn enemies are the traitors to America and hate the United States of America.

So, what we know from american haters post is that he is very good at projection, lousy at being credible, eh?

'Authoritarian propaganda': Russian textbook says Trump was cheated out of presidency

Winston Churchill once said: "History will be kind to me for I intend to write it."

And history might be kind to former President Donald Trump... if the Russians write it.

A world history textbook circulating in Russia sums up the 2020 presidential election as being swayed by rampant voter fraud that was executed by the Democratic Party, according to a Newsweek report.

It was quoting a tweet posted by The Times [U.K.] foreign correspondent Marc Bennetts that reads: "New Russian history book for 11th graders says Trump lost the 2020 elections 'as a result of obvious electoral fraud by the Democratic Party...'"

The 45th president is barraged with numerous criminal charges involving various attempts to meddle with the 2020 presidential election results where President Joe Biden arose as the victor.

The constant claim by Trump and his surrogates contend that the only reason he isn't running the country today was because the election was tainted, even though those claims have been tried and knocked down in the courts.

Konstantin Sonin, a University of Chicago professor and political economist chimed in about the fact-challenged entry.

"The new World History textbook for high schools in Russia quietly informs kids that Donald Trump was denied presidency in 2020 as a result of 'obvious falsifications' by the Democratic Party," he tweeted.

He referred to the effort as being part of what's called the "reverse cargo cult" that he believes is an "authoritarian propaganda" staple.

"Under the 'reverse cargo cult,' the locals believe that the fact that their own elections are fake means that elections in democracies are fake as well."

The reason NATO was formed in 1949 was to counter Soviet Union aggression. And it created the Cold War instead of a hot war because Stalin knew he could not survive taking on 12 countries all at once which is what the North Atlantic Treaty says. And NATO continues to exists for the same reason. Making sure Putin knows if he tries to invade a NATO country he will be taking on 31 countries all at once. Which is why Trump has always tried to do Putin's bidding and get rid of NATO or at least weaken it. And as soon as Trump opened his mouth he was in violation of Article Five of the NATO treaty which says if one NATO country is attacked all NATO countries will come to their defense. And you can't get much more shitty and gutless than that. Since 1949 Article Five has been invoked one time. When the US was attacked on 9/11 and all other NATO countries came to our defense and joined our war on terror.

That's one of the reason why the Trump/Putin supporters around here disgust me so much. They would rather surrender to Putin without firing a shot than defend the United States of America and our allies.

Trump told ally U.S. wouldn't help if Europe was attacked — then asked for $400B: report

French European Commissioner Thierry Breton claims that Donald Trump once said that America would not come to the aid of Eurpoean allies if they were attacked militarily, Politico reported.

"'You need to understand that if Europe is under attack we will never come to help you and to support you,'" Trump told European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in 2020, according to Breton.

Breton recounted the story at an event in the European Parliament in Brussels on Tuesday. He says the EU's then-trade chief Phil Hogan was also present for Trump's comments.

"'By the way, NATO is dead, and we will leave, we will quit NATO,'" Trump also said, according to Breton. "And he added, ‘And by the way, you owe me $400 billion, because you didn’t pay, you Germans, what you had to pay for defense,'" Breton said.

"That was a big wake-up call and he may come back," Breton said about Trump. "So now more than ever, we know that we are on our own, of course. We are a member of NATO, almost all of us, of course we have allies, but we have no other options but to increase drastically this pillar in order to be ready [for] whatever happens.”

Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley has narrowed her ratings gap with former President Donald Trump ahead of the Republican primary in the key state of New Hampshire. This is evidenced by a CNN poll. According to the survey, Haley's support has risen 12 percentage points since the last CNN/UNH poll in November, continuing an upward trajectory in her ratings that began last summer. At the same time, the performance of her opponents, including Trump, has remained stable or decreased slightly since the fall. Trump still holds a significant lead in the poll, with 39% of likely Republican voters in New Hampshire backing him, compared to Haley's 32%.

It would seem that the Republicans have a clear-headed candidate who is guaranteed to beat Joe Biden and return America to the international stage as an international policeman, which would be a boon for the American people, for US allies, and, of course, for Ukraine. Adult thinking, a responsible look, bold rhetoric from the times of Ronald Reagan. Just hear it by watching the previous video.

So explain to me, American friends, why are you dragging your country into the abyss of choice between pathological indecision and boorish clownery? Why are you committing collective suicide? Why are you dragging us all, who have relied on your conscientious fulfillment of your obligations, into this suicidal pit?

As one of my friends in the Armed Forces of Ukraine said, “I no longer have the strength to scream.”

Then I replied: “Well, I’ll shout for you.”

But my strength is not endless. You can fight stupidity for a long time, but not indefinitely, especially if this stupidity is the historical stupidity of hundreds of millions. First, I spent months and even years calling on Biden to give Ukraine everything it needed to win. Now that the current American administration has failed everything it could possibly fail, we are seeing this administration suffer its well-deserved historical punishment in the form of obstruction from competitors. This is not about the morality of competitors. It's about the cost of shortsightedness and the cost of doubt.

For this reason, I am no longer addressing the Biden team: at the moment, it will not be able to change anything, since all the deadlines have long been missed, although this does not mean that we should not be grateful to it for the entire amount of work within the framework of assistance for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which it she did it and, hopefully, she will still be able to do it further, no matter how much time she has left.

I appeal to the American people and the Republican Party: please do not exceed the record of mistakes of the sitting president. The stakes are high. Not only the life of Ukraine. This is a question of the existence of all of us in the coming centuries and millennia. Finally, understand that the entire human civilization is at stake. It may simply disappear, and then your petty squabbles over the southern border will not be reflected even in parchments - they will appear so insignificant before the court of history. Not only because you simply won’t have any southern border, but because there will be no borders at all. This will be that one continuous Russia “without borders” that Putin dreams of.

I understand that in 2020 there were no alternatives to the current candidates, so of the two remaining options, Biden looked like the only sane one. However, now there are elections of three, not two, figures, and the United States has a historic chance to turn out of the dark forest onto a straight path that leads us all, if not to salvation, then at least to a chance for salvation. Of course, the real problem is not this, but that American society is deeply divided and infantilized, like all modern Western societies in general, so that even if Haley is elected, she will receive a dire legacy in the form of a fragmented ohlos and creepy vultures in the establishment. However, with such a development of events, a ray of light will still shine through, and this is better than the current pitch darkness.
