Putin Names the Candidate He'd Like See Win the 2024 US Presidential Election.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday he prefers Joe Biden in the 2024 U.S. election compared to former President Trump, the likely GOP nominee.

When did the despicables manage to give Putin the right to vote in American elections?
What state does he vote in?

Conservatives roast Tucker Carlson's 'amazingly stupid' portrayal of Russia

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson this week posted a series of videos whose purpose is to tell Americans that they don't have it anywhere near as good as the people of Russia.

As evidence, Carlson went to a subway station and a grocery store in tourist-heavy areas Moscow to argue that Russians live in luxury that Americans can only dream of.

Many American conservatives were quick to point out that Carlson is providing a massively misleading portrayal of life in Russia by visiting cherry-picked ritzy areas.

"This is so amazingly stupid," wrote Jonah Goldberg in response to Carlson's grocery store video. "I don’t care what some flagship supermarket in an imperial city looks like. Russia is far, far, poorer than our poorest state, Mississippi. Oh, and it’s also a crappy dictatorship."

Joel Berry, a managing editor at the conservative satire website The Babylon Bee, offered similar skepticism to the grocery store video.

"Tucker says groceries in Russia cost about 1/4th of what they cost in America," he wrote. "What he doesn’t mention is the average Russian salary is 1/5th the average U.S. salary."

Ilya Shapiro, a scholar at the Manhattan Institute, also found himself flabbergasted that Carlson would portray Russia as an economic paradise.

"Nearly a quarter of Russian homes don’t have indoor plumbing," he wrote. "An estimated 35 million households rely on outhouses. But here are some pretty chandeliers and murals in a subway station."

And conservative attorney Marina Medvin said she's "never seen anything" like Carlson's attempt to inflate the state of Russia's economy.

"Russia has cheaper aircraft too," she joked. "He should check them out."

Veterans Group Delivers Damning 'Putin's Puppet' Warning Over Donald Trump

A veterans group has hammered Donald Trump as “Putin’s puppet” in a new ad that calls out the former president’s latest attack on the NATO military alliance.

Trump at the weekend said he’d encourage Russia to do “whatever the hell they want” to NATO members who don’t “pay their bills” (ignoring the fact that member countries don’t actually pay fees but instead promise to spend 2% of their GDP on defense).

“Putin’s puppet is back with a vengeance and Republicans are marching in lockstep, following orders to strangle the freedom fighters in Ukraine, threatening to break the NATO alliance that’s kept the West safe and encouraging Putin to invade our European allies,” began the narrator of the spot released by the VoteVets progressive political action committee on Thursday.

“Just ask the people of Poland, Finland and the Baltics whose borders are already under assault from Russia whether they trust Putin the way Trump does,” he continued. “Ask the parents of American service members if they are ready to sacrifice their kids’ lives for Trump’s weakness.”

“Whatever happened to Republicans standing up for freedom? Whatever happened to Republicans standing up for America?” the voiceover concluded. “Now, it’s appeasement through surrender and blind loyalty to a Russian dictator and his puppet in chief.”

VoteVets works to get Democratic veterans elected to Congress.

It repeatedly went after then-President Trump during the 2020 election, calling out his derogatory comments about America’s war dead and more.

Critics pounce after Mike Pence says 'no room' for Putin apologists in GOP

Former Vice President Mike Pence on Friday came out with a stirring defense of the late Russian dissident Alexey Navalny, but many critics suggested he was overlooking a particularly large elephant in the room.

Writing on Twitter, Pence wrote that, "There is no room in the Republican Party for apologists for Putin" before adding "RIP Alexey Navalny."

While many of Pence's followers didn't disagree with the sentiment he was expressing, they did note that he failed to call out his one-time boss, former President Donald Trump, who has regularly gushed over Putin and has even suggested that he wouldn't come to the defense of NATO allies if Putin attacked them.

"HAVE YOU LISTENED TO TRUMP?" asked an incredulous Pradheep Shanker, a regular contributor to the conservative National Review.

DON'T MISS: ‘Boss Trump’ is a mobster finally facing the music: new book

Former Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-VA) similarly suggested that Pence's post would benefit from taking a shot at Trump.

"When Navalny went back to Russia he said, 'There must be those in Russia who don't lie to them, after all,'" she argued. "Today would be a good day for Mike Pence to do the same and say Donald Trump is an apologist for Putin. He’s never called him out. He’d give Ukraine to him. Please lead."

"Seems like there’s plenty of room," commented pollster Sarah Longwell. "Room made by the president you served."

And Bloomberg columnist Robert George had a sarcastic interpretation of Pence's statement that he believed made it more in tune with reality.

"'No room,' in the sense there are now so many Putin apologists in the GOP, it’s nearly impossible to accommodate more?" he cracked.

Russian media sources announced on Friday that Navalny had died in his prison cell. Although no cause of death has officially been determined, the Russian government under Vladimir Putin has a long history of targeting dissidents for assassination.

Navalny was reported dead on Friday at 47. He was serving a prison sentence in a notorious Arctic penal colony for offenses many consider to be politically motivated.

I Read the Intel Report That Shredded the CIA's Russian Collusion Narrative.

    Matt Vespa | February 17, 2024 6:30 AM

This week has been hellacious. We’ve had Fani Willis’ misconduct hearing, which is related to Trump’s Georgia case. Joe Biden is still dealing with the fallout from the Justice Department’s special counsel report on his mishandling of classified documents showing the president was guilty but not responsible. He also has an affliction that we already know: his memory is shot. And there was more damning evidence released regarding the Russian collusion hoax, where Matt Taibbi, Michael Shellenberger, and Alex Gutentag unearthed new details showing how this scheme was hatched long before disgraced FBI officials Peter Strzok, James Comey, and Andrew McCabe greenlit the counterintelligence probe that was once considered the starting point for this corrupt wild goose chase. The CIA already had over two dozen Trump associates pegged for surveillance illegally, and they roped in the intelligence services of our top allies to help.

Now, we have a former White House staffer who alleges he read the intelligence report compiled by House investigators, which shredded the core of the Russian narrative. This individual also divulged two possible locations for this report since there’s now a treasure hunt to find these incriminating documents that the spook community has tried to keep buried. The trio wrote about how the CIA cooked the books for the Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) to pivot away from what the evidence was concluding, which was that Moscow wanted Hillary Clinton to win the 2016 election, not Donald Trump (via Public) [emphasis mine]:
Around 10 a.m. on a Saturday in August 2018, someone made the extraordinary decision to show a White House staff member a top-secret report written by investigators working for the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI), which is universally pronounced as “hip C.”

The still-secret, never-released HPSCI report concluded that the Russian government wanted Hillary Clinton, not Donald Trump, to win the 2016 election and that then-CIA Director John Brennan had manipulated a January 2017 “Intelligence Community Assessment,” or ICA, which had come to the opposite conclusion.

    […]

The former White House staffer did not want to say who brought him into the HPSCI SCIF to read the report. They did so secretly. There is no record of him reading the report.

“About one-quarter of HPSCI staff are former intelligence officers,” he said.

The authors of the 50-page HPSCI report brought it to him and left it with him to read for the next 90 minutes. Asked to recount the exact title, the man wasn’t sure but then added, “It was something like “Staff Report on the January 6, 2017, Intelligence Community Assessment, ‘Russian Activities and Intentions in Recent U.S. Elections.’”

“It was clearly something they had put a lot of time into,” he explained. “It was refined and polished. There was a main text. There were sidebars. A sidebar would be a parallel discussion or analysis. This wasn’t just an essay. It was a finished product. It was formatted and footnoted with a cover page.”

    […]

Pressed further, he said, “They were pleasant, introverted people. Not political hacks. Professionals. Somewhat wonky and nerdy.”

What the HPSCI staff report showed was that the former CIA Director Brennan had manipulated the ICA.

    […]

Why was the report never released?

“My understanding was the HPSCI Chairman at the time, Devin Nunes, was waiting for the Trump administration to release FISA warrants against Trump campaign officials before he released this report. They couldn’t get any traction in getting it cleared by the CIA, and given that it was a Republican administration, they thought the Trump administration could get it out.”

Added the man, “I’m sure there’s a copy [of the HPSCI report] at the CIA. In theory, there are still copies in the HPSCI SCIF.”

Then-CIA Director John Brennan handpicked his lackeys only to select the intelligence that fit his narrative, ignored other agencies within the intelligence community that drew differing conclusions, and muted other CIA officials who disagreed.

“The actual drafting was done by five intelligence analysts chosen by Brennan, and the lead author was a partisan CIA analyst who had served in the Obama National Security Council,” the staffer relayed to Public.

There’s a binder that airs all the dirty laundry regarding this rogue operation out there, compiled during the Trump administration by House investigators. That file is missing, but it’s keeping the IC up at night. Some sources told this trio of reporters—Gutentag, Taibbi, and Shellenberger—that the FBI’s Mar-a-Lago raid might have been influenced by this document, with federal agents speculating that it might have been stored at the former president’s Florida residence.

The staffer also said this unreleased HPSCI (“hip C”) report did include that the ICA, which was taken as gospel by the CIA, Democrats, and the liberal media, relied heavily on the Steele Dossier, an opposition research project funded by the Clinton campaign and compiled by a former MI6 spook. It was a document that was also brimming with Russian disinformation and bad intelligence. It also said, unsurprisingly, that the intelligence for the CIA’s Trump-Kremlin narrative was weak, and it was forced into the final draft by Brennan despite objections from other CIA officers. The rushed product—the CIA wanted this report released before Obama left office—did not follow department protocols.

Taibbi wrote a separate editorial, where he not only said that Democrats should be outraged and horrified by these overreaches within the intelligence community but that these files and documents should be found and exposed, regardless of the fallout. Also, who cares—these people broke the law. He used the Iraq War as an example of the disastrous consequences of when intelligence is politicized and weaponized to serve an agenda. We’re paying for that regional instability right now. It wasn’t until 2015 that the files exposed the 2002 National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq and WMDs as shoddy. We cannot wait years to extinguish this scandal involving Russian collusion that never existed with Donald Trump.

Just more attempts to bully reality. John Durham looked at all of it. And did not find any wrong doing by the Obama administration. At most Durham was critical of whether the FBI should have opened a full investigation insre4ad of a a preliminary investigation first. His whole investigation was a massive nothing burger.

Russia is plotting new ways to manipulate 'stupid' Trump: former lawyer

Invited on CNN to talk about the upcoming Donald Trump trial related to paying hush money to adult film star Stormy Daniels, Michael Cohen, once known as the former president fixer suggested his former client is open to being manipulated by the Kremlin.

Speaking with host John Berman, Cohen immediately launched into a warning about the former president now that he is facing close to half a billion dollars in fines after three legal setbacks.

Noting Trump's financial loses to E. Jean Carroll in two separate trials and the massive judgement levied by Judge Arthur Engoron that could reach $450 million, Cohen suggested Trump coud be ripe to be compromised, in no small part because he is "stupid."

Asked by CNN host Berman, "What do you think that number means to him?" Cohen shot back, "That's a total, it's like the death touch to Donald. They don't have that available cash."

READ MORE: ‘We're wounded:’ Speaker Mike Johnson struggles to lead GOP after ‘unnecessary purging’

"I've read in several different articles that he has a substantial sum of cash, it's not true, I would highly doubt it," he added. "He's probably looking at RNC money, he's probably looking at Super PAC money again as part of money that he would use. But no matter what happens, he does not have enough and there will have to be a liquidation of his assets in order to cover this amount because you're right, it's not $354. It's into the $550 million."

Noting Trump is in a financial position where he is open to being "compromised," Cohen added, "If you're Vladimir Putin, I'll tell you how Vladimir Putin is probably looking at Donald Trump, right now; that Trump is a poor man's idea of a rich man, a weak man's idea of a strong man and a stupid man's idea of a smart man."

"So as a KGB, former KGB expert, he's [Putin] looking at Donald and saying, 'What can we do in order to help to help him to get away from these various different things?'" he continued. "But you, can't fix stupid. So that is what you just take advantage of."

I have a question. After the revelation that our CIA enlisted other nations spy agencies to spy and set up Trump and associates how do we ever trust anything they say? The same question about the FBI...how are they to honestly be trusted after the proven lies and actions they have done? How do we trust our own law enforcement agencies after they act like the Russian FSB?

    More projection.
It appears Russia didn't want Trump, they wanted Hillary.
If true, that makes the whole Steele dossier thingy even more of a hoax than we thought it was.

But of greater import, the lid has been pulled off of the Obama/Clinton/Brennan conspiracy to keep Trump out of the Whitehouse in 2016. If even partially true, Brennan started the rumor that Russia was colluding with Trump to put him in the Whitehouse, then used the rumors to obtain FISA warrants to spy on Trump campaign officials and later to spy on the Whitehouse itself is terrifying news for Americans.

It exposes the depth of the "deep state" and it brings into question who really runs the government, and what their motivations are.

We would expect every American to be concerned about such revelations.
    Apparently, despicables aren't.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -onald Trump, who drew criticism as U.S. president for his praise of Russian leader Vladimir Putin, on Monday made his first public comment on the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny in a social media post that cast no blame but alluded to his own legal woes.

"The sudden death of Alexei Navalny has made me more and more aware of what is happening in our Country," the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination wrote on his Truth Social platform, appearing to link the death to his own political troubles.

"It is a slow, steady progression, with CROOKED, Radical Left Politicians, Prosecutors, and Judges leading us down a path to destruction. Open Borders, Rigged Elections, and Grossly Unfair Courtroom Decisions are DESTROYING AMERICA. WE ARE A NATION IN DECLINE, A FAILING NATION! MAGA2024"

It was not clear what similarities Trump was trying to draw with Russia's most prominent opposition leader. Navalny, 47, fought for years against what he called vast corruption in Putin's Russia, ruled by "crooks and thieves."

The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for clarification.

Trump has railed against a judge's order on Friday that he pay $355 million in penalties for overstating his net worth to dupe lenders, a decision he called politically motivated. Trump also is preparing for four upcoming criminal trials as he pursues the Republican nomination.

President Joe Biden on Friday directly blamed Putin for Navalny's death in a penal colony north of the Arctic Circle, as did Trump's main Republican rival, Nikki Haley. "Putin is responsible for Navalny's death," Biden said.

The Kremlin has denied involvement in his death and said that Western claims that Putin was responsible were unacceptable.

Since Navalny's death was reported on Friday, former U.S. presidents and top members of Congress from both parties also denounced Putin.

But Trump, the Republican candidate leading the race to challenge Biden in the November election, remained silent until Monday.

During his 2017-2021 White House tenure, Trump expressed admiration for Putin. In 2018, he refused to blame the Russian leader for meddling in the 2016 U.S. election, casting doubt on the findings of his own intelligence agencies and sparking criticism at home.

Last week, he suggested the United States might not protect NATO allies who do not spend enough on defense from a potential Russian invasion.

Haley, the former South Carolina governor who will face Trump as an underdog in her home state's presidential primary on Saturday, called Trump's response on Monday unpatriotic.

"Donald Trump could have condemned Vladimir Putin for being a murderous thug. Trump could have praised Navalny’s courage," she wrote on X. Instead, she said, he denounced America and compared it to Russia.

Campaigning in Sumter, South Carolina, later on Monday, Haley criticized Trump again over his NATO comments, saying, "He sided with a dictator who kills his political opponents."

Republican former U.S. Representative Liz Cheney, a vice chair of the congressional panel that investigated the Jan. 6, 2021, storming of the Capitol by Trump supporters, recalled Trump's frequent promise to seek "retribution" against political opponents if he regains power.

"What Vladimir Putin did to Navalny is what retribution looks like in a country where the leader is not subject to the rule of law," Cheney said on Sunday.
