Actually they skewed the results a LOT during that election...especially in terms of the 18-25 demographic.

A lot of stations reported that still only 46.7% (I think that was the number) of registered 18-25 y/os voted..which was TRUE. Something like 11.5 thousand out of 14 thousand vs. 8,000 out of 12,000 in the 2000 election. So I don't think people can claim no one voted. I know people who swore they'd NEVER vote..."I won't be forced to choose the lesser of two evils" kind of people. And even THEY voted in an attempt to get rid of Bush.
In short, college students stood up and said "no more Bush" just not enough of us. You have to remember that little bible thumping old biddies are the first to the polling stations to make sure they get their republican leader.

And I found this random site while looking for the 2004 elections. This is just ONE town in Virginia....I'll bet a LOT of other towns looked like this......but that doesn't mean that's how it went at the electoral college level. http://www.alexandriavoter.org/cert11022004.html

OH! And if you still maintain that people didn't vote it could be partially due to an issue we had here in Ohio...... A "private republican group" decided to post flyers in "low income minority neighborhoods" (as the news called it)...primarily democratic areas. The flyers basically said that: Due to the high volume of voters expected it will be a two day election. Republicans are to vote Tuesday and Democrats on Wednesday.

Needless to say, some people actually fell for it. By the time the news stations got wind of it and managed to put out warnings it was already 4 or 5pm. They kept the polling stations open late but that didn't stop them from reporting the "final tally" quite early in the evening.

I honestly don't know how it turned out. I was away at college and getting bits and pieces from news bytes and family members. I never got to follow the story on a daily basis so I don't know if/how it was ever resolved.

OK, people are saying that the American voters should take over America by actually getting out and voting but they've been proven not be capable of doing that. I mean, otherwise Bush wouldn't still be in the White House.
