Every time I think Comer can't possibly be more stupid and ignorant he proves me wrong. And I will point out again they are used to screaming stupid lies like this into the right wing false propaganda noise machine echo chamber to blind brainwashed parrots that suspend disbelief. But its not gong out to just them. The whole country is watching this shit show and will recognize this lie instantly. Which is destroying them.

'I spy': James Comer roasted for falsely claiming Trump only hid docs in one place

Comer outlined his committee's agenda for the upcoming Congress including his plan to investigate President Biden's son Hunter Biden and his overseas business deals. (Photo by Kevin Dietsch/Getty Images)

House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) tried to downplay former President Donald Trump's concealment of classified information by suggesting that he only hid the documents in one, secured part of his Mar-a-Lago country club.

Even if that were a compelling defense, however, it wasn't true.

"You look at how Donald Trump is treated," Comer said on Fox News. "He had documents in one location behind a locked door."

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) responded by taking to X to post a supercut of all the images of where Trump had stacked boxes of highly classified national defense documents — which were not in fact only stored in "one location behind a locked door" but in several places, including a bathroom open to the public and a ballroom.

"I spy with my little eye, more than one," he wrote.

The Mar-a-Lago classified documents case, which is currently up in the air because of controversial moves by right-wing Judge Aileen Cannon, alleges not only that Trump had information of the highest classification level unsecured on his property, and resisted efforts by federal officials to recover them, but also ordered subordinates to move the boxes around the property so authorities and even his own attorneys wouldn't know they were there.

One witness to the moving of the materials, Mar-a-Lago employee Brian Butler, came forward publicly this week to describe how he was ordered to help unload the boxes without knowing what was inside them.

'We don't have time for stunts!' James Comer's impeachment hearing goes off the rails

On Wednesday, a House Oversight impeachment hearing went off the rails in its first few minutes.

As witnesses were giving their opening statements, ranking member Jamie Raskin (D-MD) wondered why Republican witnesses were allowed to attend remotely while Democratic witnesses were not allowed to in the past.

"To be able to testify remotely requires a letter from me and approval from the majority leader, which we have," Chair James Comer (R-KY) replied.

Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) asked for a parliamentary inquiry into evidence one of the witnesses had referred to.

"Mr. Chairman, Mr. [Tony] Bobulinski just referred to text messages that I believe he is referring to photos of a BlackBerry," Goldman explained before being interrupted.

"What's your parliamentary inquiry?" Comer demanded. "State your parliamentary inquiry, because we've got a very important hearing here and we don't have time for stunts!"

"It's not a stunt!" Goldman insisted.

"You don't have a parliamentary inquiry," Comer said, moving on to the next witness.

Lev Parnas testifies Trump 'encouraged' Rudy Giuliani to find dirt on Biden in Ukraine

    Lev Parnas on MSNBC (screengrab)

Former Rudy Giuliani associate Lev Parnas told the House Oversight and Reform Committee impeachment hearing into President Joe Biden Wednesday that Donald Trump directly 'encouraged" Giuliani to find dirt.

Parnas began by recalling a 2023 letter he sent to committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) that said he observed Giuliani's interference extensively in Ukraine politics.

Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) asked why Giuliani would be interfering with another country's politics.

"Because he would do and say whatever he needed for the purpose of getting the information he wanted to secure Donald Trump's 2020 election," testified Parnas. "So, just a prime example of one of the things he did."

Parnas went on to cite some of the relationships that Giuliani built, including with a boxer in Ukraine, and a mayor from Ukraine who flew to New York, where he met with Giuliani.

He also mentioned Andriy Yermak, who met with Giuliani in Spain. Yermak was brought in to run the Office of the President when Volodymyr Zelensky was first elected. The meeting dealt with Zelensky potentially making an announcement that Ukraine was going to investigate the Bidens.

That was a demand that Trump had in 2019 when he called Zelensky, promising they'd send weaponry that Congress had approved. "I need you to do us a favor, though," Trump told Zelensky in the call. That quid pro quo offer became the source of Trump's first impeachment trial.

ALSO READ: Tax the rich and end Republican welfare for the wealthy

Parnas testified Wednesday that the efforts continued behind the scenes to get Zelensky to announce the probe into Biden.

"So was Rudy Giuliani just doing this as a rogue on his own because he's a patriotic American who loves Donald Trump, or had somebody encouraged him to engage in this kind of political interference in another country?" asked Connolly.

"I think he was encouraged by Donald Trump," said Parnas.

    "Personally?" Connolly questioned.

    "Personally, yes," Parnas replied.

"That is your testimony?" Connolly confirmed.

    "Yes," agreed Parnas.

Parnas later testified that Trump personally thanked him "for all that you're doing" before he was sent off to Ukraine.

'I just can't follow it': Senate GOP leader Chuck Grassley slams House impeachment probe

The House Republicans' impeachment inquiry looking into potentially bringing charges against President Joe Biden just got some harsh criticism from top Senate Republican Chuck Grassley.

Igor Bobic, senior politics reporter at HuffPost, reported on Wednesday that Grassley is simply "not paying attention to the House GOP impeachment probe." Last year, Raw Story reported that Grassley admitted that the GOP didn't care if accusations against "Vice President Biden" were true or not.

ALSO READ: Lawmaker overseeing nation’s defense dumps Boeing investments amid aircraft safety crisis

Now, it appears that Grassley might be losing his passion for the impeachment project that his House colleagues are championing.

“I think I got a pretty good reputation for oversight here in the Senate. And the House…I just can't follow it, you know?" Grassley said, according to Bobic on Wednesday.

Jake Sherman, founder of Punchbowl News, added that James Comer has been "dismissive" of similar reports from the outlet that suggest Republicans themselves don't know where their efforts will actually end up.

"Comer is dismissive of our reporting that republicans have no idea what the end game is/what’s going on," Sherman said on Wednesday on social media. "But we hear it all the time."

I think what made this treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republican phony scam impeachment hearing the funnest yet is by now it was the last of the eggs in their basket. And the progressive/liberal/Democrats and Lev Parnas just kept kicking over their baskets and stomping on all their eggs. And just has a ball doing it.

Lev Parnas dishes dirt on Rudy Giuliani and escaping the ‘Trump cult’ in madcap Biden impeachment hearing
    Andrew Feinberg and Eric Garcia

The House Oversight Committee’s latest attempt to hold an impeachment hearing on President Joe Biden took a bizarre turn on Wednesday when one of the three witnesses who gave evidence before the Republican-led panel began revealing unflattering information on former presidentDonald Trump’s disgraced ex-personal lawyer, Rudolph Giuliani.

Lev Parnas, a Ukrainian-American businessman who served time in prison for violating federal campaign finance laws and fraud charges, told committee members that he’d been a “key participant” in a scheme to dig up dirt on Mr Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election.

He said Mr Giuliani had “tasked” him with “finding dirt on the Bidens so that an array of networks could spread misinformation about them” so Mr Trump and his allies could “damage the Bidens’ reputations and secure the 2020 election for Trump”.

But Parnas, who admitted to being on supervised release after serving prison time for his offences, told the panel that the allegations against the Bidens being peddled by the Republican majority were false.

“I have never wavered from saying that there was no evidence of the Bidens’ corruption in Ukraine – because there truly was none,” he said in an opening statement.

Lev Parnas, Ukrainian-American businessman and a former associate of Rudy Giuliani, sits to testify before a House Oversight and Accountability Committee (REUTERS)
Continuing, Parnas said the theories on which Republicans have based their impeachment inquiry into Mr Biden are actually “predicated on a bunch of false information that is being spread by the Kremlin” and have no basis in fact.

“Throughout this entire situation, no credible source has ever provided proof of Joe or Hunter Biden’s alleged corruption in Ukraine ... no respectable Ukrainian official has ever said that the Bidens did anything illegal,” he said as he rattled off a list of Ukrainian officials and nations who have publicly said that the president and his son were not implicated in any criminal activity.

Parnas added that the CEO of Burisma, the Ukrainian energy company which employed Hunter Biden as a board member, had rejected a deal on criminal charges he faced “in exchange for information on the Bidens” but turned over no such information.

“The only information ever pushed about the Bidens and Ukraine has come from Russia and Russian agents, which everyone sitting here today knows,” he said, pointing to the recent indictment of ex-FBI informant Alexander Smirnov on charges of fabricating the derogatory information about the Bidens which figured prominently in an FBI form made public by the Republican majority.

“In my travels, I found precisely zero proof of the Bidens’ criminality. Instead, what I learned in that timeframe was the true nature of the conspiracy that the Kremlin was forcing through Russian, Ukrainian, American, and other channels to interfere in our elections. Ultimately this was meant to benefit Trump’s re-election, which would in turn benefit Vladimir Putin,” he said.

Parnas, who first came to public attention when he was arrested during the House’s first of two impeachment inquiries into Mr Trump, was just one of two convicted felons to give evidence before the Republican-led panel at a hearing that uncovered no new evidence but was heavy on unsubstantiated accusations by partisans with axes to grind.

One of the Republican witnesses, James Galanis, testified by a remote video hookup from a federal prison in Alabama, where he is known as inmate 80739-198.

Jason Galanis testifies on a video link from prison before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee hearing (AP)
In a transcribed interview last month, Galanis — a former business partner of Hunter Biden — told investigators that President Biden never held any role with any business entity connected to his son. He also said under oath that he had “no knowledge” of Mr Biden undertaking “any official action” to benefit the business venture in which he, Archer and Hunter Biden were involved.

But the convicted fraudster, who is part of a crime family whose head, his father, was prosecuted by Mr Giuliani in the 1980s, told the panel on Wednesday that the president had been slated to be involved in one of the companies after leaving the vice presidency in 2017, even though he never had any documented involvement in the venture at issue.

Under questioning from Republicans, the incarcerated felon described Hunter Biden as offering what he called a “Biden lift” to potential business deals through his father’s involvement, telling members that Hunter Biden had been actively trying to leverage his family name to bolster his business endeavours.

Yet in a 2018 court opinion, US District Judge Ronnie Abrams said it was Galanis — not Hunter Biden — who was leveraging Hunter’s family name for his own gain.

She wrote that Galanis had been attempting to use his business partner and co-defendant, Devon Archer, to gain access to Mr Biden, explaining how other co-defendants of Galanis had described Archer as “the biggest whale of anyone,” the “biggest show pony of all time,” and “a total fucking whale” in conversations that were recorded and admitted into evidence against them.

He also told another co-defendant that two of Archer’s respective partners were “Chris Heinz and Hunter Biden, the stepson of the Secretary of State John Kerry and the son of the Vice President Joe Biden, respectively”.

The other Republican witness was Tony Bobulinski, an ex-naval officer and ally of Mr Trump who first came into the public eye when he appeared at a Trump-sponsored press conference ahead of one of the ex-president’s 2020 debates with Mr Biden.

Tony Bobulinski testifies before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee hearing (AP)
Mr Bobulinski, who was represented by an attorney from Elections LLC — a firm run by former Trump administration officials which has been paid by Mr Trump’s political action committee, repeatedly engaged in theatrics throughout his testimony, displaying visible contempt for Democrats on the panel and personally attacking two Democratic members, Ranking Member Jamie Raskin of Maryland and Representative Daniel Goldman of New York, in his opening statement.

He accused both — without offering evidence — of lying about him and his testimony, and consistently talked back to Democratic members and filibustered rather than answer their questions.

Another Democrat on the panel, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, left the former US Navy officer filibustering and attempting to shout over her when she pressed him, repeatedly, to say what, if any crime he was alleging President Biden to have committed.

Asked several times by the New York congresswoman, Mr Bobulinski could not say with any specificity which laws he was accusing Mr Biden of violating.

Although Republican members repeatedly cited photos of alleged text messages and emails on an allegedly broken BlackBerry belonging to Mr Bobulinski as evidence of President Biden’s involvement in Hunter’s businesses, the GOP voted down an explicit proposal from Mr Raskin to subpoena the old mobile phone to determine whether the messages were genuine or fabrications.

They also defeated by voice vote a separate motion to subpoena records from Jared Kushner, Mr Trump’s son-in-law and former White House senior adviser, who received $2 billion in investments in his new hedge fund from a Saudi sovereign wealth fund after the Trump administration came to an end.

The hearing was just the latest in a series of shambolic public sessions which House Republicans have used to further an investigation that has uncovered no evidence of wrongdoing by the president after more than a year of work under the GOP majority.

Much of the testimony offered and evidence presented was identical or nearly identical to what committee members have repeatedly put forth during previous public sessions, including one last year at which a Republican witness, George Washington University law school professor Jonathan Turley, admitted that the GOP had not found any evidence to justify an impeachment inquiry.

A spokesman for the White House Counsel’s Office, Ian Sams, told The Independent that Wednesday’s proceedings were “embarrassing for House Republicans”.

“They need to move on from this sad charade. There are real issues that the American people want them to address,” he said.

Kyle Herrig, the executive director of the Congressional Integrity Project, said in a statement that it was “far past time” for Mr Comer “to end this ridiculous charade and get to work for the American people”.

“To call this hearing a clown show would be an insult to hardworking clowns everywhere. There is nothing entertaining about watching Comer, Jordan, and MAGA Republicans make fools of themselves week after week, month after month, while they ignore the real concerns of the American people. Impeachment is dead, and it’s time to move on,” he said.

A Democratic member of the panel, Robert Garcia, told The Independent the hours-long session had been “another joke” in a long line of them.

“Obviously, we’re ready to move on with the impeachment. There’s no evidence,” he said.

Mr Garcia called the GOP’s witnesses “a collection of fraudsters and failed businesses and spies” while noting that Mr Bobulinski, in his estimation, had “lied multiple times” and couldn’t “get his story straight”.

“Even Republicans get the impeachment process is now a joke ... we should be focused on a bunch of other things and we’re completely wasting our time,” he said.

Ms Ocasio-Cortez, the New York congresswoman, expressed a similar opinion when pressed for her thoughts on the proceedings by The Independent.

“They’ve been a mess, they are a mess, they will always be a mess,” she said.

Despite the lack of actual evidence presented by the two pro-Trump partisans who testified for the Republican side, Mr Comer, the panel’s embattled chairman, said he would “invite” President Biden to give evidence before his committee in what appeared to be a last-ditch attempt to keep his year-long inquiry alive despite uncovering no evidence that Mr Biden committed any “high crime” or “misdemeanour” to justify impeaching him.

“We need to hear from the President himself. And I assure the American people that they will be able to evaluate for themselves, the President's honesty and fitness for the office he now holds,” said Mr Comer, who has no authority to compel the president to appear.

Jim Jordan accused of 'real harm to the American people' in letter by ethics group

    Matthew Chapman

The left-leaning watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) sent a blistering letter to House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) on Thursday, accusing him of abuse of congressional power.

The letter, which also went out to House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY), highlighted what Crew said in a statement constituted "real harm to the American people" being done by political manipulation of oversight authority.

"When oversight is misused for partisan aims, we know that it can chill the exercise of lawful activities in both government and civil society, whether such an effect is intended or accidental," stated the letter, written by CREW director Noah Bookbinder. "Your committee’s oversight activities have done just that and, in the process, have caused real-world harm."

ALSO READ: A neuroscientist reveals how Trump and Biden's cognitive impairments are different

Among the abuses cited by the letter include threatening academic outfits into stopping research on internet disinformation, which the letter warns could violate the First Amendment; interfering with the DOJ's attempts to investigate violent threats against school board officials and corruption at the right-wing Federalist Society; and threatening antitrust enforcement against insurers who underwrite climate change risk.

"Instead of pursuing this illegitimate oversight agenda, your committees should work on bipartisan reforms such as improving oversight of the Bureau of Prisons, investigating the Department of Defense for potential violations of the Emoluments Clause, and mandating that the White House disclose information about official visits to the White House and other locations frequented by the president," said the letter. "The harms described above represent just a snapshot of how your committees’ so-called oversight efforts have had ripple effects across society."

"Congressional oversight should be used to uncover corruption, tackle financial waste and make the government run better – not for illegitimate, politically motivated attacks," the letter concluded.

I do not know what Jordan thought he was going to do going on 60 Minutes. They actually try to do journalism there and Stahl wasn't even trying to trip him up with gottcha questions. Just trying to get Jordan to explain himself and the apparent contradictions between what treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans are accusing social media companies of and what they are doing in Congress. And Jordan managed to offer up some taking points but time after time when Stahl asked him what he meant it was deer in the headlights time and he couldn't do it. It was painful to watch and Stahl couldn't even help him.

Jim Jordan Gets Flustered As Simple Question Turns Awkward On ‘60 Minutes’

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) seemed to have an uncomfortable moment on “60 Minutes” during Sunday night’s segment on social media disinformation.

Jordan argued against social media companies taking down inaccurate posts, saying the American people should figure out what’s true and what’s not.

“What about this idea that the 2020 election was stolen?” asked correspondent Lesley Stahl. “You think that these companies should allow people to say that and that individuals can make up their own mind.”

“I’ve not said that,” said Jordan, who is on the record pushing conspiracy theories about the 2020 election. “What I’ve said is there were concerns about the 2020 election; I think Americans agree with that.”

    “No, they don’t,” said Stahl.

“You don’t think they think there were concerns with the 2020 election?” he said.

“Most people don’t question the result, that’s all I’m saying,” Stahl said.

    “Fair enough,” said Jordan.

    Then it got awkward.

“They don’t question whether Biden won or not,” she said.

    Jordan was silent.

    “Right?” she asked.

    Jordan remained silent.

    “Right?” she asked again.

    Jordan looked puzzled.

“Most people don’t question the outcome,” she said.

    “Right,” Jordan agreed.

Jordan was among multiple GOP lawmakers who helped push Trump’s conspiracy theories about the 2020 election and objected to the election results in Congress as part of a push to slow or stop the certification.

Trump rewarded Jordan with the Presidential Medal Of Freedom before leaving office.

Democrats are taking aim at Jared Kushner, sending a letter to Republicans on the Oversight Committee asking them to hold a hearing into Donald Trump's son-in-law's overseas business deals.

According to a The New York Times report, a plan by Kushner and his business partners to redevelop a prized location in Serbia’s capital is similar to interest expressed by Trump a decade ago in pursuing a deal for the site "and a similar proposal pushed during his White House term by a top aide" who now works with Kushner.

“This Committee cannot claim to be ‘investigating foreign nationals’ attempts to target and coerce high-ranking U.S. officials’ family members by providing money or other benefits in exchange for certain actions while continuing to ignore these matters,” Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) and Rep. Robert Garcia (D-CA) wrote in a letter Tuesday to Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY), according to a report from Politico.

“We therefore urge you to work with us to finally investigate Mr. Kushner’s receipt of billions of dollars from foreign governments in deals that appear to be quid pro quos for actions he undertook as senior White House adviser in Donald Trump’s Administration,” they added.

The letter also points out that legislation Comer is drafting on ethics and financial disclosure rules would also apply to Trump and his family if he wins the 2024 presidential election.

It comes a week after Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) brushed off similar demands made by Raskin at a House hearing on influence peddling.

Raskin has also called for Kushner to be subpoenaed over a $2 billion deal made with the Saudis.

Speaking to Politico, a GOP Oversight Committee spokesperson said that it's unlikely that Republicans will comply with the letter.

“Unlike the Bidens, Jared Kushner has a legitimate business and has a career as a business executive that predates Donald Trump’s political career. Democrats’ latest letter is part of their playbook to shield President Biden from oversight. The House Oversight Committee will continue to investigate President Biden’s abuse of public office and hold the Bidens accountable for their corruption,” the spokesperson said.

    Sorry.
The despicables are going to have to wait to skewer Kuschner until they have control.
See, just now, the deplorables are busy skewering the brandon crime family.
