'Never before seen': Ex-Giuliani associate posts video 'Republicans don't want you to see'

Lev Parnas is rolling out more receipts proving his narrative that Trump's former attorney and ex New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was trumpeting foul play committed by President Joe Biden and his family despite knowing fully well he didn't have the goods.

Filming himself seated at a table with Giuliani and another gentleman, Parnas can be seen holding a cell phone up reportedly with Ukrainian Prosecutor General Victor Shokin speaking.

Giuliani tells him, "I guess what I'm getting at is — I understand that. I understand why that's wrong; is there any specific act that any of these people performed? Did they get a kickback? Did they get a bribe?"

ALSO READ: ‘Don't have enough’: Wealthy Trump allies balk at helping Donald pay legal bills

    Shokin unflinchingly answers back: "No."

Parnas, a convicted criminal and who was also a former associate of Rudy Giuliani, released the video days after he made headlines while testifying before the House of Representatives to say that Giuliani knowingly spread misinformation from Russia about Biden.

Recently, Parnas, who is appearing to come clean with his actions in the past, said that he told the FBI in 2019 that the GOP's anti-Joe Biden informant should not to be trusted.

Keeping with the theme of showing what he claims to know, Parnas released the "never before seen" clip by calling it, "THE VIDEO THE REPUBLICANS DON'T [sic] WANT YOU TO SEE."

The video relates to the origins of Giuliani going out to suggest Biden's son Hunter Biden was mixed up in questionable money scheme with a Ukrainian energy company Burisma, where he served on the board.

He went on to solicit story pitches lifted from Hunter Biden's laptop to news outlets.

A year prior, Giuliani had badmouthed reportedly Kremlin-aligned prosecutor, Shokin, whom the Ukrainian Parliament supposedly sacked for failing to clamp down on corruption.

House to delay sending Mayorkas impeachment articles to Senate

By STEPHEN GROVES and LISA MASCARO
    Updated 3:53 PM MDT, April 9, 2024

WASHINGTON (AP) — Speaker Mike Johnson will delay sending the House’s articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to the Senate this week as previously planned after Republican senators requested more time Tuesday to build support for holding a full trial.

The sudden change of plans cast fresh doubts on the proceedings, the historic first impeachment of a Cabinet secretary in roughly 150 years. Seeking to rebuke the Biden administration’s handling of the southern border, House Republicans impeached Mayorkas in February but delayed sending the articles while they finished work on government funding legislation.

Johnson had planned to send the impeachment charges to the Senate on Wednesday evening. But as it became clear that Democrats, who hold majority control of the chamber, had the votes to quickly dismiss them, Senate Republicans requested that Johnson delay until next week. They hoped the tactic would prolong the process.

While Republicans argued Tuesday that forgoing a full Senate trial would break precedent, most Senate Republicans voted to do just that when Donald Trump, the former president, was impeached a second time on charges he incited an insurrection in the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol. Their effort to halt the proceedings failed. Trump was ultimately acquitted in the Senate trial.

“Our members want to have an opportunity not only to debate but also to have some votes on issues they want to raise,” said South Dakota Sen. John Thune, the second-ranking Republican Senate leader. Under procedural rules, senators are required to convene as jurors the day after the articles of impeachment are transmitted for a trial.

“There is no reason whatsoever for the Senate to abdicate its responsibility to hold an impeachment trial,” Johnson’s spokesman, Taylor Haulsee, said in a statement announcing the delay.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. D-N.Y., who has decried the impeachment push as a “sham,” suggested Democrats still plan to deal with the charges quickly.

“We’re ready to go whenever they are. We are sticking with our plan. We’re going to move this as expeditiously as possible,” Schumer said.

“Impeachment should never be used to settle policy disagreements,” he told reporters earlier Tuesday.

House Republicans charged in two articles of impeachment that Mayorkas has not only refused to enforce existing law but also breached the public trust by lying to Congress and saying the border was secure.

Democrats — and a few Republicans — say the charges amount to a policy dispute, not the Constitution’s bar of high crimes and misdemeanors.

“Ultimately, I think it’s virtually certain that there will not be the conviction of someone when the constitutional test has not been met,” said Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah.

Romney said he was not sure how he would vote on the Senate’s process but wanted to at least express his view that “Mayorkas has done a terrible job, but he’s following the direction of the president and has not met the constitutional test of a high crime or misdemeanor.”

Still, with elections approaching, Republicans want to force Congress to grapple with the Biden administration’s handling of the southern border as long as possible.

“I think there are a lot of Democrats who really want to avoid the vote. I don’t blame them. I mean, this is the number one issue on the minds of Americans,” Thune said.

Sen. Sherrod Brown, a Democrat who is facing a tough reelection bid in Ohio, called the impeachment trial a “distraction” and pointed to Republican senators rejecting a bipartisan deal aimed at tamping down the number of illegal border crossings from Mexico.

“Instead of doing this impeachment — the first one in 100 years — why are we not doing a bipartisan border deal?” Brown said.

Prior to Mayorkas, only one U.S. cabinet official had ever been impeached. Secretary of War William Belknap in 1876. A House investigation found evidence that he had received kickback payments while administering government contracts.

Belknap resigned, but the Senate still held a trial. The votes on all five impeachment charges against Belknap fell short of the two-thirds majority needed for a conviction.

The thing is with impeachment the outcome is more likely decided by the majority party in the senate than the facts at issue.

Better to just charge them criminally or even civilly.

Maxwell Frost and Marjorie Taylor Greene (House Oversight/screen grab)

Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL) accused Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) of "damn hypocrisy" after she said Ukraine was harboring white supremacists.

At a Wednesday House Oversight Committee hearing on China, Greene used her time to talk about "Nazis in Ukraine."

"It's amazing to me that just in a few years time, it's now considered misinformation to talk about the Nazis in Ukraine," she complained. "According to Christopher Wray, the FBI director, he said that [the Azov Brigade] has been recruiting and radicalizing and training American citizens for years. He also finished saying in his testimony to the U.S. Senate that American white supremacists are actually traveling overseas to train."

"I don't think anyone in the United States government — Americans do not support actual Nazis or white supremacists," she argued. "I know I certainly do not."

Frost, who spoke after Greene, began his time by calling out the Georgia lawmaker.

"It's interesting to hear my colleague just now talk about disavowing white supremacists when in 2022 you — she spoke at an event led by white supremacists and white nationalist Nick Fuentes," Frost noted. "And when asked about it, doubled down on it and said we're gonna focus on people, not labels."

"So get out of here with that damn hypocrisy," he added.

As I have said a few times before. Kevin The Coward sold his soul to the far right extremists to get the gavel and promised to give them committee chairs and committee seats. With the problem being the far right extremists are also the most stupid, ignorant, and mentally ill members of Congress. And so when they come up against the Democrats its like shooting fish in a barrel. And one way we can tell and kind of a surprise to me is the Democrats keep stealing most all the 30 second sound bites. Which means that's what most Americans are seeing.

Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) did not contain her anger at Republicans Thursday over delays in funding aid to Ukraine.

At a House Rules Committee hearing on three foreign aid packages for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan, DeLauro was asked to comment on Republicans complaining about border security even though they killed a bill that would have helped stem undocumented immigration.

"In many respects, we continue to sit here and to deal with revisionist history here," the lawmaker replied. "Lest we forget, it was the Trump administration that violated the Impoundment Control Act, illegally withholding security assistance from Ukraine."

"Let's not forget that when we think about what emboldened Putin, let us not forget the words of the former president, which everyone has invoked here today in some way or another, that Putin is his dearest friend," she continued. "Don't you think Putin is waiting very, very carefully to see another Trump administration?

"I sat in the White House, not in a classified meeting, where Republican colleagues said that we won't have Ukraine without bipartisan border security."

ALSO READ: Secret letter: FBI must accelerate arrest of violent J6ers or risk time expiring

DeLauro noted that Donald Trump pushed Republicans to kill the border bill.

"And for months and months, we have been diddling around where people are dying in Ukraine," she remarked, raising her voice. "The moment is ours. And if the House of Representatives abdicates its responsibility, yes, the history will write the story. And that it is on us. When we had that moment, we said no. I, for one, will not say no."

"We're standing by and [watching] Ukrainians die!" she added. "If that's the way we want to be remembered in history, it's certainly not the way I want to be remembered!"

Illegal immigrant arrested in crash that killed Democratic senator's adviser
    Michael Dorgan
Wed, April 17, 2024 at 10:29 AM MDT

An 18-year-old Honduran man who was arrested in connection to a two-vehicle crash that killed an adviser to Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, D-Nev., earlier this month was in the country illegally, having been detained at the border in 2021 and then let go, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) tells Fox News Digital.

The illegal immigrant, Elmer Rueda-Linares, was involved in the deadly crash that took the life of father-of-one-Kurt Englehart in the early hours of April 6. The collision occurred on Kietzke and Peckham Lanes, about five miles south of Downtown Reno, Nevada.

Rueda-Linares was initially charged with a felony hit-and-run, but that has been changed to failing to stop at the scene of an accident, the Reno Gazaette Joyrbal reported, citing the sheriff’s office. He is being held at Washoe County Jail in Reno on $100,000 bail.

Federal officers placed an immigration detainer on Rueda-Linares on April 8.

ICE told Fox News Digital that Rueda-Linares entered the U.S. on March 12, 2021, at or near the Rio Grande City, Texas, Port of Entry without inspection by an immigration official.

Border Patrol arrested him, and he was later released on his own recognizance on June 22, 2021.

Fox News Digital contacted the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office for more details regarding the nature of the collision but did not receive a response.

A spokesperson for Cortez Masto told Fox News Digital that the lawmaker "looks forward to justice being served and has confidence in the local police and prosecutors."

Following the death, Cortez Mastro praised Englehart and offered her condolences.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT, DEPORTED 5 TIMES, CHARGED IN HIT-AND-RUN DEATH OF TEXAS BOY

"For the past eight years, Kurt proudly served in both my campaign and official offices," she wrote.

"A beloved figure across the state, Kurt was always eager to help a constituent at a moment's notice. He touched many lives and I know almost everyone in northern Nevada has a great story about Kurt helping them or making them laugh. Kurt was a dedicated public servant, a loyal friend and a loving father."

"Our prayers are with his family, loved ones and colleagues during this devastating time. We will miss him dearly."

An obituary for Englehart states that he graduated from Tri-Valley High School in Dresden, Ohio, and attended Zane State in Zanesville and Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio, where he earned degrees in political science and public administration.

He worked for then-President Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign and spent most of his career working for Cortez Masto, where he most recently served as senior adviser in her official office in Reno.

"Regardless of his position, Kurt was purpose-driven in his dedication to advocate for others and cultivate a democracy that is accessible to everyone," the obituary reads.

"He worked tirelessly to improve the lives of those in rural Nevada and he was especially motivated in his support for Indigenous communities, cattlemen, miners, and underrepresented populations."

It is both funny and rewarding to watch the frustration and wrath building among treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans. And also just so predictable. The treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans promised them the moon. And instead all they have managed to do is make laughable fools of themselves and haven't delivered anything.

'You were in charge': Jim Jordan gets shredded by MAGA after latest Trump case statement

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) may be one of Donald Trump's top elected allies, but the former president's supporters appear to be holding a grudge against the conservative lawmaker, based on their response to his last statement.

Jordan, who has been called out for "hypocritical" comments in the past, took to social media on Saturday to support Trump in his efforts to battle the legal system in several criminal cases.

"Indicting former chiefs of staff and lawyers for President Trump is banana republic craziness," Jordan said, likely referencing a recent indictment in Arizona.

He then asked, "What happened to our country?"

Jordan got the typical insults from the left, but he also got a dose from Trump supporters and self-proclaimed conservatives.

@GuntherEagleman, a MAGA political commentator, said, "Our [House GOP] has no f------ b---- whatsoever is what happened."

@DogRightGirl, who describes herself as "America First," also chimed in:

"Imagine if you were in a position of power to do anything about it….. Keep posting on X. That seems to be working."

Ohio lawyer Tom Renz, who has accused Hunter Biden of creating COVID-19, also had words for Jordan.

"Our elected officials sold out instead of standing for us. Instead of standing for good legislation they compromised with the dems and refused to hold the sellouts accountable. Instead of taking actions they held hearings," he said on Saturday. "Instead of telling truth they lie for lobbyists. And worst, instead of listening to the people they are supposed to represent they stand for big money that puts its own interests ahead of those of the American people. Any other questions?"

Trump-supporting MAGA activist Cynthia Holt also weighed in.

"Thankfully we got another sternly written tweet from Jim. I'll sleep much better tonight," she said.

Jack Grodeska, a former TV host and conservative independent, said the GOP operatives charged "committed crimes."

"You're up next, Insurrectionist," he then added. "Remember, Donald never gave you your preemptive pardon. If SCOTUS agrees to Trump's presidential immunity grift, that means Joe Biden sends you to a black ops site with all of your Congressional insurrectionist co-conspirators. Have a great weekend."

'Nothing burgers daily': Jim Jordan skewered for angry letter directed at Trump prosecutor

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) was shredded on social media Tuesday after the House Judiciary Committee shared his most recent angry letter directed at a prosecutor who levied charges against former President Donald Trump.

Tuesday's letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland targets Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, the prosecutor who accuses Trump of falsifying business records to cover up adult film star hush money payments ahead of the 2016 presidential election.

Specifically, Jordan wants to know about former Justice zdepartment official Matthew Colangelo, hired in 2022 as Bragg's senior counsel.

"Given the perception that the Justice Department is assisting in Bragg's politicized prosecution, we write to request information and documents related to Mr. Colangelo's employment," the letter declares. "Mr. Colangelo's recent employment history demonstrates his obsession with investigating a person rather than prosecuting a crime."

ALSO READ: A criminologist explains how Americans achieve a post-Trump democracy

This argument mirrors that of the former president, who has argued the four criminal cases he faces — in federal and state courts in Washington D.C., Florida, Georgia and New York — are the result of a political witch hunt.

Jordan appears to align himself with Trump's theory, and has sent such letters to District Attorney Fani Willis, as well as President Joe Biden's ghostwriter.

For their part, Democrats link Trump's criminal charges to his own conduct before his two presidential elections.

ALSO READ: ‘Clear indication’: Dems accuse GOP congressional candidate of illegal super PAC ties

That may be why Jordan faced ridicule on social media.

"Oh goodie!" replied X user Spitfire. "Another investigation that leads to ZERO consequences."

"Oh good,' added @apathetic_tears. "Another 'investigation' by the feckless GOP that will use up taxpayer dollars so they can do absolutely nothing."

"More letters," quipped X user Nick. "That's the trick."

Concluded Ryan Bartley, "Jim Jordan dropping nothing burgers daily."

Congressional hearing erupts in laughter as Dem brings up Trump's bleach-injection rant

Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) on Wednesday drew laughter during a congressional hearing when he brought up former President Donald Trump's past ramblings about curing COVID-19 by injecting disinfectant.

During a hearing on the "weaponization" of the federal government, Connolly asked Robert Flaherty, the former assistant to the president and director of digital strategy at the Biden White House, about some of the misinformation that was spread during the pandemic that killed over one million Americans.

"Mr. Flaherty... when the previous president suggested that perhaps the ingestion of bleach might cure COVID, was that misinformation?" he asked.

Flaherty said he "can't speak to that," as laughter erupted in the room.

IN OTHER NEWS: Read this powerful GOP senator’s pay-to-play 'benefits package' for lobbyists

"Now when he suggested, perhaps, sources of light in certain orifices of the body might also work, was that misinformation?" he asked.

"I believe, my understanding is, that was medically inaccurate," Flaherty replied.

"And by the way, did that president get COVID?" Connolly asked.

"Congressman, I recall that he did," said Flaherty.

"And did he get vaccinated?" Connolly asked.

"Congressman, I believe that he did," said Flaherty.

Trump's rant about using light and injecting disinfectant to cure COVID-19 came during an April 2020 press conference that at the time left onlookers baffled.

"Supposing we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think you said that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it," Trump said at the time. "And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. And I think you said you’re going to test that too. Sounds interesting, right? And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute, one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning, because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it’d be interesting to check that."

Congressional drama unfolded on the X platform on Wednesday as Del. Stacey Plaskett (D-VI) was forced to remind House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) of the rules of his own committee.

This came after Jordan held a hearing in defense of former President Donald Trump, who is currently standing trial in Manhattan for felony business records fraud related to an alleged hush payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg argues this scheme was an effort to defraud voters in the 2016 presidential election.

Plaskett, as a delegate from a U.S. territory who has all the same committee powers as regular congressional representatives, during the hearing slammed Trump for demanding "that every Republican official serve him like the incorrigible, degenerate, spoiled brat that he is and use their positions to aid his criminal defense."

But there was conflict when Jordan clashed with her over the rules and condescendingly said he was "letting" her speak, despite him not actually having the power to prohibit her from speaking in this context.

"Really?? Talking about he 'let me talk' for 14 minutes…" wrote Plaskett on X. "Sir! I’m the Ranking Member, I talk for as long as I want. I don’t need your permission. Am I supposed to act grateful that you let me do what the rules say I can do??? …..crazy ish.."

All of this comes as the prosecution is expected to finish presenting its case in the Manhattan trial on Thursday, after a final cross-examination of Trump's former attorney and fixer Michael Cohen by the defense.

Earlier in the day, Jordan tried to discredit Cohen by posting writings from Cohen's former attorney Robert Costello, who said that Cohen repeatedly told him he had no information for prosecutors that could discredit Trump. Cohen, who helped broker the alleged payment at the heart of the Trump trial, has already admitted to lying to Congress and various authorities as he was under investigation, but maintains he did so at Trump's own direction.

House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Jerry Nadler (D-NY) called out Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) for trying to appease the "MAGA political base" by spending $20 million on hearings to investigate the Biden administration.

At a hearing on Thursday, Jordan complained that Attorney General Merrick Garland had not turned over audio tapes of an interview with President Joe Biden in an investigation that did not lead to a prosecution.

"Mr. Chairman, $20 million taxpayer dollars," Nadler retorted. "Chairman Jordan, who consistently opposes government spending on everything from feeding children to education and health care, has spent $20 million taxpayer dollars this Congress to investigate his various conspiracy theories."

"And what exactly has he delivered to the American people on their $20 million investment?" he asked. "Exactly nothing. No evidence that the conspiracies are true. No indictments. No impeachment."

According to Nadler, Jordan would be "fired" from any company if he spent $20 million without results.

"And the chairman knows that if he doesn't come up with something to show for the $20 million he spent, the MAGA political base may stay home next November," he continued. "So he and Chairman [James] Comer are scrambling in a desperate attempt to look like they have accomplished something."
