Maybe, instead of having the mods ban people who break the rules, we should emulate a popular TV show methodology and have the members vote one person of their choice off the island each week.

Or how about this: the mods pick ten candidates for banning at random (maybe picking slips of paper out of a hopper)...and the ten candidates are then required to jump out of an airplane. Ten candidates, but only nine parachutes.

Frankly, though, the mod wars here bore me to death. It makes me think there's a lot of people who can't think of anything more fun to talk about.

 

Truth be told, me too.

If the mods would simply do their job, removing spam and banning miscreants that would be fine by me.

But oh no, they have to be the big "personalities" here, bragging about their "powers" and how people should be scared lest they reveal their "dirty little secrets"

The return of "the master shake" only reinforces my opinion that the mods here have lost the plot, if they ever had it in the first place obviously.

I will give you that I was proud of the fact that I got to a spammer before he took over the forum. But you said we bragged about our "powers". That makes it sound like we think we're all that when as I've stated many times, we are janitors who sweep out the trash.

Just my twopenn'orth (that's about three cents at the current exchange rate).

When Shake was first made a mod, it was controversial, but I posted at that time that the admin would not have appointed him if they did not believe he was responsible enough for the job - and it is the admin's forum to play with as they so see fit, to appoint whoever they wish to.

As I recall it, Shake made one silly testosterone-fuelled boast that he could see exactly who was who and could trace us all which angered so many of his detractors that a witch-hunt ensued, and shortly afterwards Shake quit.
That's only as I recall it.

However, I have no problem with him being a mod, and he will be a great help to the three ladies who mostly do a great job for us.

If he oversteps his powers, I am sure that there will be enough of a cabal following him to point that out.

In the meantime, unless anyone has any better suggerstions as to who ought to be Moderators here, why don't we all Shut The Fuck Up and let them get on with it?

Treatment is going really well, I almost feel normal, side affects are minimal, but you would expect that from a regime that costs just short of 5K for 21 capsules. The one good thing is that my appetite is back and I am eating plenty, not so healthy but I am packing in the calories, I even found a palce on line that sells the civvy equivalent of compo sausages, "Sausages in lard, ten to a tin, I have been craving them for a while now and I can get 4 cans for a quid.
