You have to remember Chunky was a mod. Mods stand behind each other always, doesn't matter if what was done was right or wrong.

Shake is not someone we ever were at odds with. Still, it seems that history has repeated itself and more of the same treatment D79 received has been received by other members who have come here since.

Getting back to mods supporting each other publicly. They have to do this, you can't have mods challenging each other on decisions publicly. Hopefully, discussions on decisions made take place privately, I assume they do.

 

I had to laugh at baller railing against people who make unprovoked attacks, well not laugh exactly more of a wry smile.

 

On the previous page, Chunky already confirmed Shake's resignation. He was not removed because of anything he did, and he didn't quit because of pressure from the membership. He resigned because nophest was being an ass and doing things which appeared as if the mods were responsible. Nophest was not a nice person - hence the permanent ban of deidre79. As stated before, the mods weren't in favor of it and he didn't care. His decision. Shake had the balls to stand up to him.

 

Nophest is long gone. If what you say is true, why then hasn't D79 been reinstated?

 

As is obvious the mods (and even ex mods) will stick together and present a united front if one of them is "attacked"

You keep trotting out this version of events that you have all probably agreed on in your mod forum.

The posts on the GD forum present a different perspective. Why would Shake speak of the mods "battening down the hatches" and "weathering the storm" if he wasn't feeling pressure from the membership ?

What shake zula did was bravely run away, pure and simple.

Sure, we support each other, and the battening down the hatches was from the uproar at D being banned. We know we are support management and we also knew that membership would be upset. We didn't agree with it, but we had no choice, and still don't when it comes to admin decisions.

Nophest played with a poll and let Shake take the blame. Behind the scenes in our forum, he laughed at it. You've been told what Shake said. Believe it or not. That's your decision.

The uproar was NOT from deirdre getting banned, it was before that in the "New moderators" thread.

As for chunky, yes I do doubt him, I would have thought that his choices for mods here would have been better and they were his choices for certain, I think that piggit would have had more idea.

 

The immensity of the fuck I don't give about all this is almost overwhelming.

I will admit, it was a bit stressful at that time. I was being attacked in two or three threads, often by people I had never even heard of. But I knew eventually it would pass. And it was slowing down. Until Nophest did what he did. I then came to the realization that I was doing a job for someone who was not only ungrateful, but deliberately trying to make my forum experience more difficult. The forum had always been fun for me and he had made it cease to be fun.

But, all things have been set right in the intervening time. While the forum is not as fun as it used to be, it is still amusing enough for me to check in a couple of times a day. I find your faux outrage silly but Monkey is still fun to wind up and set loose.

I had made my point by making this thread and was not bothered about it, if you notice I didn't bump it and I was in no rush to post in it again.
