I have had enough altercations with the pit viper called Resident of Maryland to know that he is just twisting his position for comedic effect. He's a dyed-blue progressive like me, and he's just fooling about.

Besides, I'm up to my tush in trilobytes, just from having to deal with all the teabaggers around here who keep trying to dredge up the distant past when we have lots more important things to worry about.

Now I'm not saying I don't occasionally have qualms. Let's face it, while I detested Romney from the get-go, I did side with a lot of his wonky far right positions. I won't deny that. But I think it's pretty darned clear that Romney and that so-called party of his screwed themselves from the very beginning with a fractured campaign and too much in-fighting, and goddamn it, if the fools can't decide in a smoke-filled room who's gonna lead them before they start spending one point trillion dollars of the Koch brothers' blood money to buy an election, how the hell can we trust them to run the country? Romney was never gonna lead us off the fiscal cliff, pure and simple. And it does make me nervous sometimes, knowing what little I do about the hard road ahead. But I have faith, and I believe in President Obama to do the impossible, which I think is as much as he wants or expects from anyone, which is why we should all just shut the fuck and let him do his job.

Clinton smokes (and sucks cigars), Obama can smoke because he is the second black Prez and can do what the fuck he wants. The minions will overlook it.

Now President Obama's victory was decisive and that's that, and even if the fool conservatives had agreed on a candidate from the start they still wouldn't have had a snowballs chance in hell but it seems to me that they pretty much showed the whole nation, way back in January, how bad they are at organizing and managing themselves, and if they can't even put their own house in order I sure as hell don't want them screwing with mine.

 

I don't care if he lights up as long as he's trashing his lungs on American product.

 

The term your really looking for is 'use to'. Clinton no longer smokes cigars because of his heart problems and Obama quit 2 years ago.

Try not to post undated pics of Obama with a cigarette it will only bring you ridicule.

And of course they are all undated. He quit smoking in very early 2010 or late 2009. Not to mention that nearly all of the pics posted are photoshopped.

Tough shit. Children's health care is a helluva lot more important than smoker's rights and anyone who says otherwise has some screwed up priorities. I smoked for nearly half my life, but I never bitched about the taxes. It's a stupid habit that costs society heavily, so it should be taxed heavily, just like booze.

What exactly does "blue dyed progressive" mean? Personally I consider myself a left leaning centrist, but I've never heard that term before and I'm too lazy to google.
