So Uncle Joe has some plans for Social Security.
4 Social Security Changes Joe Biden Wants to Make: Is 2023 the Year They Become Reality? (msn.com)

    1. Lift payroll taxation on high earners
The most notable change proposed by Biden involves collecting more payroll tax revenue from high-earning workers. In 2023, all earned income between $0.01 and $160,200 is subject to the 12.4% payroll tax. However, wages and salary above $160,200 aren't subjected to this tax. Well over $1 trillion in earned income "escapes" the payroll tax this way every year.

Biden's plan would reinstate the payroll tax on earned income above $400,000, while creating a doughnut hole between the maximum taxable earnings cap (the $160,200 figure in 2023) and $400,000 where earned income would remain exempt. Since the maximum taxable earnings cap increases over time, this doughnut hole would eventually close and subject all earned income to the payroll tax.

This is something Shooter has pointed out as a good thing in the past. Make 100% of payroll taxable. According to most estimates this is the only step needed to bring Social Security to a more stable and sustainable point. But delving into the details we see that Uncle Joe is advocating for a loophole that will exempt payroll between $160,000 and $400,000 with COLA increases in the future gradually closing this loophole. Well, the problem is, most of that untaxed payroll IS between $160,000 and $400,000. So at least initially there wouldn't be much of an increase in revenue. A "feel good" piece of meaningless legislation that plays well on the 5 O'Clock news though.

    2. Change Social Security's measure of inflation from the CPI-W to the CPI-E

The other sweeping change Biden is offering is to shift the program's inflationary tether from the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) to the Consumer Price Index for the Elderly (CPI-E).

The issue with the CPI-W is that it tracks the spending habits of "urban wage earners and clerical workers," which doesn't make much sense when senior citizens make up the bulk of Social Security beneficiaries. Since the CPI-E specifically tracks the expenditures of seniors, it should result in more accurate cost-of-living adjustments being passed along to beneficiaries.

Wonderful. This should increase the benefits without a corresponding source of new revenue, cause, remember, most of the "tax increase" Biden is advocating in step one won't do much until the loophole is closed over many years. More spend it and worry about it later bullshit.
    3. Increase the special minimum benefit
A third Social Security reform proposed by Biden involves increasing the special minimum benefit paid to lifetime low-earning workers.

This year, the maximum payout for a lifetime low-earner with 30 years of coverage is just $951 per month. That's more than $180/month below the federal poverty level for a single filer. Under Biden's plan, the special minimum benefit would rise to 125% of the federal poverty level. For a lifetime low-earner, it would mean a monthly payout boost of nearly $500.

Naw, this won't drive up costs without a means of paying for it, how could anyone think that?

    4. Boost the primary insurance amount for aged beneficiaries
The fourth and final change would see the primary insurance amount (PIA) steadily increased over time for older beneficiaries. Specifically, the PIA would grow by 1% annually from ages 78 through 82 until a 5% cumulative increase was realized.

The purpose of boosting the PIA is to account for higher late-in-life expenditures. As we age, things like medical transportation costs and prescription drugs can become costlier. This would help offset some of those expenses.

    Now this is complicated (thank you government for keeping something simple, eh?) Basically, the Primary Insurance Amount is supposed to fine tune how much Social Security recipients get when they retire. Bottom line is, this will greatly increase the Social Security outlays in future years. If you care, you can get more about "primary insurance amount" here;

Biden official hid info about meetings with George Soros, Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi from public.
The SEC updates calendars 'from time to time,' an agency spokesperson tells Fox News Digital.

EXCLUSIVE: Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Gary Gensler scrubbed mention of a meeting with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and key details of a meeting with billionaire Democratic donor George Soros from the public version of his calendar.

Gensler's public calendar showed that he only had a staff meeting on Aug. 7, 2021 while his private calendar lists a meeting with Clinton, according to a Fox News Digital review. And on Aug. 20, 2021, his public calendar lists a meeting with Soros, but hid the meeting's agenda which his private calendar shows was to discuss a forthcoming Wall Street Journal op-ed the business magnate was planning to write.

Gensler's private calendar revealing the discrepancies was obtained by the watchdog group Energy Policy Advocates and shared with Fox News Digital. The group was only able to obtain the internal records after filing a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the SEC.

In recent days, around the time Fox News Digital contacted the SEC, the agency updated Gensler's public calendar to include his meeting with Clinton in August 2021. As recently as Wednesday the public calendar didn't include the meeting and archived copies of the webpage from April also list just a meeting with staff.

    Huh.
Wonder if we compared Nancy Antoinette's calendar, or maybe Paul's or maybe her kids calendars with Genslers what would pop out.
Or, you know, not pop out.

    They never learn, do they?
The coverup is always, but always worse than the crime.

Biden Spins in Confusion, Needs a Child's Help to Find His Way Offstage

President Biden has a history of experiencing difficulties navigating off the stage after speeches, and Monday a little girl had to show him which way to go. The President was speaking at a Toys for Tots event with the United States Marine Corps Reserve in Arlington, Virginia.

After finishing his remarks, Biden looks around, spots the young girl, spins almost 360 degrees, then strokes her shoulder. “Which way do we go?” he asks, grabbing her wrist and then shuffling off toward wife Jill and safety.

Biden had praise for the girl, who is a military child:

“When I was that age, I could hardly say my name in public,” Biden said. “Actually, I used to stutter when I was a little boy, until I was in high school. It was the only thing everybody – anyway – you’re very impressive.”

If this was a one-off, we could give him a pass; he just got a little confused—could’ve happened to anybody. With Joe, though, this has become an all-too-common occurrence. He regularly appears dazed and confused, forgets words, wanders off, or calls people by the wrong name. It wouldn’t be a problem if it was just gramps getting a little bewildered at the ice cream store, but this man is the leader of the free world.

One of his more infamous moves occurred in April when he tried to shake hands with an invisible person. In recent months, the gaffes are piling up like autumn leaves, as he garbles sentences and loses his train of thought at virtually every appearance. My colleague Nick Arama has covered many of these moments; here are just a few from the last few months alone:

    • At a White House state dinner honoring France, Joe called the country “Frank,” while renaming Marquis de Lafayette, a French military officer who fought in the American Revolutionary War, “Marcus Lafayette.”
    • Leading up to the midterms, he seemed to confuse Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s name with Sen. Ralph Warnock’s at a campaign event.
    • At a recent White House event recognizing the Kennedy Center honorees, Biden praised the band U2 and the “150 albums sold — among the most ever!” He then went on to laud singer Gladys Knight for her performance—in 1919.
    • At the National Christmas Tree lighting, he appeared completely flummoxed and wandered off the stage—with the microphone:
    https://twitter.com/greg_price11/status/1598099995919814656?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1598099995919814656|twgr^259985ec6757a33e7f657fb55fe98a5d429b1ed1|twcon^s1_&ref_url=https://redstate.com/bobhoge/2022/12/12/biden-spins-in-confusion-needs-a-childs-help-to-find-his-way-offstage-n672892

The other creepy thing about Joe’s latest wanderings is that he took the little girl’s wrist and held on to it the entire way off the stage. If this was most people, you’d think, OK, not a big deal, he’s just being grandfatherly—but this is Joe Biden, a man who has a long history of hair-sniffing, squeezing, and otherwise inappropriate behavior. It’s amazing that neither Jill nor his advisors have made sure never to have young ladies and cameras in his presence at the same time.

The regularity of his flubs seems to be increasing, and he turned 80 this fall. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to imagine Biden maintaining the capacity run for re-election in 2024.

I am watching President Biden and VP Harris getting ready to sign the Protection Of Marriage Act another bipartisanship and monumental bill protecting same sex and interracial marriage. Which who would have ever thought would have been needed after the Supreme Court ruled both to be Constitutional. But that was before Trump and treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans stacked the courts with far right religious zealots bent on turning the US into a theocracy governed by Sharia Law For Christians enforced by the American Taliban. Which makes federal protection necessary before the Court overturns those rights just like they did when they overturned Roe v Wade.

WATCH LIVE: Biden signs Respect for Marriage Act protecting same-sex and interracial marriages

    Politics Dec 13, 2022 11:49 AM EST
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden is inviting thousands to celebrate at the White House on Tuesday as he signs into law gay marriage legislation before a bipartisan crowd that reflects growing acceptance of same-sex unions.

The event is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. ET. Watch the signing in the player above.

Lawmakers from both parties will be there, as will first lady Jill Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff. The White House promised musical performances but was trying to maintain suspense about the headliners.

READ MORE: How the Respect for Marriage Act protects same-sex marriage rights, and where it falls short

The triumphant mood will play out against the backdrop of a right-wing backlash over gender issues, which has alarmed gay and transgender people and their advocates.

Among the attendees will be the owner of Club Q, a gay nightclub in Colorado where five people were killed in a shooting last month, and two survivors of the attack. The suspect has been charged with hate crimes.

Plaintiffs from lawsuits that originally helped secure the nationwide right to gay marriage are also expected to be there, according to the White House.

The new law is intended to safeguard gay marriages if the U.S. Supreme Court ever reverses Obergefell v. Hodges, its 2015 decision legalizing same-sex unions nationwide. The new law also protects interracial marriages. In 1967, the Supreme Court in Loving v. Virginia struck down laws in 16 states barring interracial marriage.

WATCH: Lawmakers pass landmark legislation aimed at protecting same-sex marriages

“Congress has restored a measure of security to millions of marriages and families,” Biden said in a statement when the legislation passed last week. “They have also provided hope and dignity to millions of young people across this country who can grow up knowing that their government will recognize and respect the families they build.”

The signing will mark the culmination of a monthslong bipartisan effort sparked by the Supreme Court’s decision in June to overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 ruling that made abortion available across the country.

In a concurring opinion in the case that overturned Roe, Justice Clarence Thomas suggested revisiting other decisions, including the legalization of gay marriage, generating fear that more civil rights could be imperiled by the court’s conservative majority.

Lawmakers crafted a compromise that was intended to assuage conservative concerns about religious liberty, such as ensuring churches could still refuse to perform gay marriages.

In addition, states will not be required to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. But they will be required to recognize marriages conducted elsewhere in the country.

A majority of Republicans in Congress still voted against the legislation. However, enough supported it to sidestep a filibuster in the Senate and ensure its passage.

“Together, we showed that it’s possible for Democrats and Republicans to come together to safeguard our most fundamental rights,” Biden said.

Tuesday’s ceremony will mark another chapter in Biden’s legacy on gay rights.

He memorably — and unexpectedly — endorsed same-sex unions in a television interview in 2012, when he was vice president. Days later, President Barack Obama announced that he also supported gay marriage.

Attendees will be given a card commemorating Biden’s comments from his 2012 interview.

“What this is all about is a simple proposition: Who do you love?” Biden said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” a decade ago. “Who do you love and will you be loyal to the person you love? And that is what people are finding out is what all marriages at their root are about.”

Since becoming president, Biden has reversed President Donald Trump’s efforts to strip transgender people of anti-discrimination protections. His administration includes the first openly gay Cabinet member, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, and the first transgender person to receive Senate confirmation, Assistant Secretary for Health Rachel Levine.

Meanwhile, what with Biden/Harris defending the right of people to be married regardless (when did who one sacks in the bedroom become government business)
    • down south another couple hundred thousand ILLEGAL migrants crossed the border and are now a taxpayer problem.
    • Inflation "dropped" to 7.1%.
    • The debt stands at $31.4 TRILLION and zooming upward
    • The unfortunately named "Inflation reduction act" pumps money to biden cronies as payback for their loyalty.
    Good job.
