Deep State Infighting: DOJ Fingers FBI for Mar-a-Lago Raid Disaster
    [IMG]

    JORDAN DIXON-HAMILTON10 Aug 2022

Senior U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) officials are blaming FBI Director Christopher Wray for the recent raid of former President Donald Trump’s home in an apparent attempt to take pressure off U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland.

After Trump confirmed the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago on Monday, many Republican politicians called on both Wray and Garland to explain the justification for the raid.

For example, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), the top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee, said, “Merrick Garland, Chris Wray, come to the House Judiciary Committee this Friday and answer our questions about this action today, which has never happened in American history.”

Similarly, House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) called out the DOJ’s “intolerable state of weaponized politicization” and told Garland to “preserve your documents and clear your calendar” as he pledged an investigation into the FBI raid if the Republicans take control of the House after November’s midterms.

Even Rep. Peter Meijer (R-MI), who voted to impeach Trump after the January 6 Capitol Riots, said Wray and Garland “owe transparency on the justification for setting such a striking precedent.”

However, one senior DOJ official told Newsweek that the final decision to green-light the raid on Mar-a-Lago rested with FBI Director Wray.

“I know it’s hard for people to believe, but this was a matter for the U.S. Attorney and the FBI,” the source told Newsweek.

“It really is a case of the Bureau misreading the impact,” the source added.

Although the DOJ source claimed Wray gave the final go-ahead, Newsweek also reported that Attorney General Garland “was regularly briefed” on the investigation into Trump and “he knew about the grand jury and what material federal prosecutors were seeking.”

However, the source insisted “that Garland had no prior knowledge of the date and time of the specific raid, nor was he asked to approve it,” according to Newsweek.

The grand jury investigation over a potential violation of the Presidential Records Act that led to the raid on Mar-a-Lago reportedly began in April.

Another senior DOJ official told Newsweek that the Mar-a-Lago raid was a “spectacular backfire” because the FBI reportedly planned the raid while Trump was not in Florida in an effort to avoid any media circus.

    As Newsweek detailed:

The officials, who have direct knowledge of the FBI’s deliberations and were granted anonymity in order to discuss sensitive matters, said the raid of Donald Trump’s Florida residence was deliberately timed to occur when the former president was away.

FBI decision-makers in Washington and Miami thought that denying the former president a photo opportunity or a platform from which to grandstand (or to attempt to thwart the raid) would lower the profile of the event, says one of the sources, a senior Justice Department official who is a 30-year veteran of the FBI.

The first DOJ source told Newsweek:

I know that there is much speculation out there that this is political persecution, but it is really the best and the worst of the bureaucracy in action. They wanted to punctuate the fact that this was a routine law enforcement action, stripped of any political overtones, and yet [they] got exactly the opposite.

“They were seeking to avoid any media circus. So even though everything made sense bureaucratically and the FBI feared that the documents might be destroyed, they also created the very firestorm they sought to avoid, in ignoring the fallout,” the second source said.

With Republicans rallying around the former president after news of the raid broke, it appears the FBI got the exact opposite of what they wanted.

“After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate,” Trump said in a statement on Monday.

“It is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by Radical Left Democrats who desperately don’t want me to run for President in 2024, especially based on recent polls, and who will likewise do anything to stop Republicans and Conservatives in the upcoming Midterm Elections,” said Trump.

NEW POLL: Voters Approve of FBI Trump Mar-a-Lago Raid More Than Disapprove – By 12 Points

More Americans approve of the FBI’s raid on former President Donald Trump‘s Mar-a-lago resort home than disapprove — by a 12-point margin.

Monday’s raid on Trump’s Florida residence has shaken up the political landscape and blotted out the sun, media coverage-wise. There has also been a public campaign to baselessly smear the FBI over the search, led by Trump and abetted by other Republicans and conservative media figures.

A new Politico/Morning Consult poll has mixed news about who is winning the messaging war.

Respondents to the poll were asked “Do you approve or disapprove of the FBI’s decision to conduct a search warrant on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida?”

Overall, 49 percent approve, while only 37 percent disapprove, with another 13 percent responding “Don’t know/no opinion.”

There’s an overwhelming partisan divide, but independents closely mirror the overall numbers at 47% to 33%.

Similarly, respondents were asked “And do you think that this conducted search warrant on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort is primarily due to: Evidence that he committed a crime” or “Motivation to damage his political career.”

Again, 49 percent said the raid was based on “Evidence that he committed a crime” versus 39 percent who responded “Motivation to damage his political career.”

But other results from the poll are contradictory and confounding. From Playbook PM:

Question: Would you consider the FBI’s decision to conduct a search warrant on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida to be:

An abuse of power that should be investigated: 41%

An abuse of power, but it should not be investigated: 6%

Not an abuse of power: 40%

    Don’t know/No opinion: 13%

And then there’s this interesting tidbit: A majority of voters believe Trump either “definitely” or “probably” broke the law while he was president.

However, the “abuse of power” result is heavily influenced by partisanship. A majority of Democrats (62% to 30%) and a plurality of independents (42% to 39%) say the raid was not an abuse of power.

Street Artist Sabo Hangs ‘F*ck the FBI’ and ‘Trump 2024 MAGA’ Signs Around Los Angeles

The Los Angeles street artist known as Sabo has struck once again, hanging a series of signs around the city that read “Fuck the FBI” and “Trump 2024 MAGA.”

Sabo told Breitbart News that five signs were hung all together, including two in Brentwood — with one near The Coral tree Cafe — and one in front of The Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood. Two were hung at the intersection Robertson and Melrose Aves. but were removed quickly, the artist said.

The signs appeared just days after the FBI raided former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. The FBI ransacked significant portions of the estate, including safes and even Melania Trump’s wardrobe.

The raid comes as Trump weighs whether or not he will run again for president in 2024. Polls show Trump as the clear Republican favorite, while current President Joe Biden (D) remains deeply unpopular among Democrats and Republicans.

Sabo surfaced earlier this year during the Super Bowl, which was held in L.A.

The artist put up a series of Super Bowl-themed street art posters demanding the recall of L.A. County District Attorney George Gascón (D), whose soft-on-crime platform has resulted in a surge in homicides and other violent crimes in the L.A. area.

“LAPD Cannot Protect You,” one street-art poster reads. “Recall D.A. Gascon.”

It would help if someone important who represented the "Right" would step up and say, "Stop this ridiculous talk about armed violence!" or maybe I missed it and he did.

That dude who committed suicide by idiocy down there at the Cincinnati FBI office was calling for people to shoot the FBI on sight over there on his truth social page before yesterday.

Funnily enough, he’s now being called a fraud / liberal fake flag attacker over on r/the_donald. :p

That narrative is just the best, ain't it?

"Them gad-dern democratic BLMs and their Antifas are rioting to ensure that there can't be a peaceful transfer of power to a justly elected democratic president!"

It also makes no sense that Antifa and BLM would protest an election their candidate won.

Shooter got curious about the rumors of Trump holding nuclear weapon secrets at Mar a Lago.
Where, he wondered would that have come from?
    Ah. Look what he found;
    In 2020 Trump is said to have told people that he had a secret nuclear weapon system;

“I have built a nuclear – a weapons system that nobody’s ever had in this country before.
"We have stuff that you haven’t even seen or heard about. We have stuff that [Vladimir] Putin and Xi [Jinping] have never heard about before.
"There’s nobody – what we have is incredible.”
And these remarks are attributed to Bob Woodard, he who has made lots of money writing books about Trump, books that haven't always contained the truth that Woodard was noted for when he exposed Watergate and Nixon.
Trump ‘boasted he has built an incredible top-secret “nuclear weapons system” that no one has ever seen before’ | The US Sun (the-sun.com)

So. We wonder, IF the FBI found documents about nuclear weapons, are they the actual plans and specifications of a top secret weapons system not even Putin or XI know about?
Or are they referenced in notes of speeches Trump has given, or maybe his notes from conversations he had with Woodard?

Hopefully when the court releases the warrant application and the inventory we'll be able to figure it out.

Nice posturing to try and make yourself look good but we both know and I bet everyone else does too that there will be no amount of evidence you will accept to finally say that's it I am convinced Trump belongs in jail.

Even after you screamed for years Hillary Clinton belonged in jail for mishandling classified information and putting our national security at risk.

If the DOJ and FBI are the Gestapo that planted evidence on Trump just imagine how much evidence John Durham has planted. You know the FBI probably also planted all the evidence against Hunter Biden. By God there's not a fucking word we can believe about what the Gestapo says about anything.

    This just keeps getting better.

Trump leaked the warrant to Brietbart News, presumably in an attempt to dox the FBI agents who were there / behind the raid….and in their reporting, they just accidentally revealed that the investigation is tied to the Espionage Act. It is impossible to make this stuff up.
