The Helena Police Department is looking for help from the public after they obtained a video of the person who shot at the community's Planned Parenthood, KTVH reported.

“We are working very closely with law enforcement to investigate further and understand these details,” said Mary Sullivan, Planned Parenthood of Montana spokesperson. “But right now, we are focused on our team, our patients, and ensuring safety by continuing to coordinate with law enforcement.”

The gunshots were fired sometime around 5:45 p.m. MST on Thursday after the center had closed. They found that the door had been shot at but no one had entered the building. The individual walked up to the door and fired two shots into it with a shotgun.

There were other shots at nothing in particular and no one was struck.

The CCTV video also showed a blue/green station wagon that police are calling a vehicle of interest.

The Helena Planned Parenthood was closed, but other facilities were open on Friday.

This is actually just more proof of how much treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans hate the United States of America and every great thing it has ever stood for. Trump is promoting violence right in front of every one. Right out in the open. And anyone who has any love at all for the United States of American has to take a stand against him and stop him. But instead treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans support Trump. Against the United States of America.

And by the way if you've ever seen Ruth Ben-Ghiat on TV you know that is one person that knows what she is talking about.

Historian says Trump has been 're-educating' his followers to embrace violence and that Matt Gaetz is now doing the same

    • Ruth Ben-Ghiat, a historian at NYU, accused Trump on Wednesday of encouraging violence.

    • Trump is "re-educating" his followers, she said, wanting them to see violence "in a positive light."

    • Ben-Ghiat spoke at a conference in New York City hosted by The New Republic.
Ruth Ben-Ghiat, a historian and expert on the far right in the United States and abroad, is convinced that former President Donald Trump and his MAGA movement are the real deal: a "right-wing counter-revolution in the fascist tradition."

Speaking Wednesday at a summit in Manhattan hosted by The New Republic, a liberal magazine, Ben-Ghiat — who urged Trump's prosecution in an interview last year with Insider — likened the United States to Chile in the years before a 1973 coup d'etat saw a socialist president overthrown and replaced by a conservative military dictator.

The forces of the right in Chile first spent years working to "discredit democracy and build an appetite for authoritarian rule," according to Ben-Ghiat, who teaches at New York University. It's the same kind of campaign she accused Trump of leading himself since he announced his first run for the presidency, setting the stage for the January 6 insurrection with years of aggressive rhetoric.

Trump "has been re-educating Americans since 2015," Ben-Ghiat said, "using his rallies, using his events, to see violence differently; to see violence in a positive light." He's a "superb propagandist," she said, and in his appeals to the baser emotions — of resentment and vengeance — he's helped his followers come to view "violence as necessary and patriotic."

"That's why he went to Waco," she said, referring to where Trump rallied his followers in March. Waco is where dozens of cult members died in a confrontation with the FBI under President Bill Clinton. It has ever since been a rallying cry for anti-government extremists. "That's why he went the gun store," she continued (the former president said he wanted to buy a Glock handgun but ultimately, according to his campaign, did not). "His campaign is a radicalization vehicle."

Some certainly took the president's comments on January 6, 2021, as a license to storm the US Capitol and try to prevent the peaceful transfer of power, having already lost at the ballot box and in the courts. Prosecutors also accuse Trump of encouraging violence against anyone involved in the federal case over his efforts to stay in power, intimidating not just court staff but prospective jurors.

Violence, Ben-Ghiat argued, has indeed been normalized in MAGA politics. And it's not just Trump anymore. That's a troubling sign, she said, pointing to a rise in anti-democratic thinking.

"You have extremism that becomes mainstream," she said. "We're seeing that in our country. You have violence seen as the only way to change history and move things forward."

In August, for example, Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz appeared at the Iowa State Fair, where he insisted that "only through force do we make any change in a corrupt town like Washington, DC." That, Ben-Ghiat argued, is a chilling bit of incitement.

"I read that as him saying, 'Excuse me, elections won't work, democratic reform doesn't work," she said. But violence does.

"Trumpism and its allied movements… they're all hitting notes that go back to the original fascist years," Ben-Ghiat said.

Capitol Police Brief Progressives On Security Measures Amid Rise In Threats Against Them
    Marita Vlachou
Fri, October 13, 2023 at 6:14 AM MDT·2 min read
    74

The U.S. Capitol Police on Thursday briefed several progressive House members about security measures in place following an increase in violent threats against them in the days after Saturday’s surprise attack on Israel, according to a new report.

Politico reported that Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.), Ilhan Omar (Minn.), Ayanna Pressley (Mass.), Rashida Tlaib (Mich.), Summer Lee (Pa.) and Barbara Lee (Calif.) were among those to receive the briefings, citing three sources familiar with the matter.

A Capitol Police spokesperson told the outlet the department provided “several briefings” to lawmakers regarding enhanced protections in place.

The lawmakers have become targets over expressing positions critical of Israel as the country has continued bombarding Gaza in retribution for Hamas’ attack over the weekend.

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (Wash.), who heads the Congressional Progressive Caucus, asked her fellow members during a closed-door meeting to defend their fellow Democratic lawmakers, according to Politico.

Meanwhile, the war in Israel continues to rage with more than 2,800 people confirmed dead on both sides.

The Israeli military on Friday ordered the evacuation of northern Gaza, which includes the densely populated Gaza City, within 24 hours ahead of what some presume will be a ground offensive.

The U.N. has warned the order would be “impossible” without “devastating humanitarian consequences.”

Ocasio-Cortez called the directive “unacceptable” in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

“Humanity is at stake,” she said. “Nearly half are children. We must halt this.”

U.S. Capitol Police are beefing up security measures throughout the Capitol complex after Hamas called for Friday to be a global “day of rage.”

In a statement shared with HuffPost, the department said while “there are not specific threats toward the Congress at this time, we are not taking any chances.”

“Some of what we are doing will be visible, but for safety reasons we cannot provide the public details about all of the resources that we are putting into protecting the Congress,” a spokesperson said. “Our dedicated teams are working around the clock to coordinate with our law enforcement and intelligence partners across the country to keep everyone safe.”

NYC councilwoman arrested after bringing gun to pro-Palestine protest

    NEW YORK — Brooklyn Councilwoman

was arrested early Friday for showing up to a pro-Palestine protest with a handgun, triggering a barrage of criticism from her colleagues and other elected officials across New York.

The pistol-packing Republican, who represents Brighton Beach, Sheepshead Bay and other nearby neighborhoods, was seen in photos and videos with the gun clipped to her waistband while at the Thursday demonstration at Brooklyn College’s Flatbush campus.

NYPD officials told the Daily News that police contacted Vernikov after the protest and told her to turn herself in on a criminal possession of a weapon charge. Joined by her lawyer, she was booked on that charge at Brooklyn’s 70th Precinct station shortly before 3 a.m. Friday and released with a desk appearance ticket, the officials said.

Vernikov, who’s Jewish and has criticized pro-Palestine protesters for holding rallies across the city since Hamas’ brutal attack on Israel last weekend, secured a concealed carry gun permit from the state just last month. “Officially a licensed gun owner!” she wrote on X on Sept. 5 along with a photo of herself showing off the permit.

Vernikov is at least for now no longer allowed to pack heat, though, as she had to surrender her concealed carry license and gun, a Smith & Wesson 9 millimeter, upon being charged, police said.

Ali Najmi, a New York-based criminal defense attorney, said it doesn’t matter that Vernikov had a gun permit in the context of Thursday’s protest.

“Even w/ a conceal carry permit you cannot bring a gun to a protest as it is considered a ‘sensitive location,'” Najmi wrote on X, noting that bringing a firearm to such an event constitutes a Class E felony.

Students from Brooklyn College and supporters hold signs during a pro-Palestinian demonstration at the entrance of the campus on Oct. 12, 2023. (Photo by Michael Nigro/Pacific Press/LightRocket via Getty Images) In a video posted to her X handle from Thursday’s protest, Vernikov said she was in attendance to make sure “Jewish students feel safe today.”

“If you are here today standing with these people you are nothing short of a terrorist without the bombs,” Vernikov said in the video, pointing to a crowd of students waving Palestinian flags and chanting, “Free Palestine.”

Manhattan Councilman Keith Powers, a Democrat who serves as the chamber’s majority leader, said it was “deeply irresponsible” for his colleague to bring a weapon to the rally.

“New Yorkers do not view this type of display of intimidation as ‘responsible gun ownership,’ which is why so many of us work to strengthen city, state, and national laws,” Powers said.

Gov. Kathy Hochul, who has signed a variety of gun control measures into law since taking office in 2021, deadpanned on X in response to Vernikov’s arrest: “New York’s gun safety laws apply to everyone.”

It was not immediately clear whether the Council may reprimand Vernikov over her arrest. She sits on the Council’s Standards and Ethics Committee, which is typically in charge of disciplinary proceedings against members of the legislative body.

Under New York law, a person convicted of a felony or misdemeanor can be barred from elected office.

Regardless of the outcome in her gun possession case, Amber Adler, a Democrat running against Vernikov in next month’s Council elections, said the legislative chamber should vote to expel the Republican from office.

“There are consequences for committing crimes. No one is above the law,” Adler said. “My opponent’s actions are unhinged and have endangered every Jewish New Yorker and she should be immediately expelled from the New York City Council.”

Conservative Radio Allegedly Fueled Attack on Palestinian American Boy

Prosecutors on Monday alleged that Joseph Czuba, the 71-year-old white man accused of fatally stabbing a Palestinian mother and boy in a Chicago suburb over the weekend, had become paranoid listening to conservative radio segments about the war between Israel and Hamas.

Czuba was arraigned on Monday, making his first court appearance in an orange jumpsuit with matted hair, The New York Times reported. He faces charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, two counts of a hate crime, and an aggravated battery charge for allegedly stabbing his tenants, 6-year-old Wadea Al-Fayoume and his mom, Hanaan Shaheen, inside their home.

In court documents obtained by the Times, prosecutors allege that Czuba had become fearful that their Palestinian background made him a potential target for violence.

Impaled Palestinian Mom Posted About Dead Son Just After Chicago Attack

Czuba’s wife told investigators that her husband “listens to conservative talk radio on a regular basis” and had become obsessed with the Middle East war, NBC reported.

Prosecutors reportedly said Monday that Czuba had texted Shaheen on Wednesday and demanded that she “move out of the home” she was renting from him.

Czuba’s alleged hate took a violent turn on Saturday. Prosecutors say he confronted the mother and son outside their home and said he was enraged by the situation in Israel. Shaheen tried to plead with Czuba, prosecutors said, but it was to no avail: Just seconds after she said “let’s pray for peace,” prosecutors claim she was chased into her home and stabbed repeatedly.

A judge denied a request for bail by Czuba on Monday, saying he remains a threat to Shaheen—who is still recovering from stab wounds in the hospital—and “the community in general.” His next court date is on Oct. 30.

Czuba’s arraignment took place the same day mourners gathered at a funeral for Al-Fayoume. The boy’s body was placed in a small white coffin that was draped in a Palestinian flag.

Nazmi Hannon, a close family friend who described the father as a “brother” to him, spoke to The Daily Beast from the site of a funeral service on Monday.

“I just remember all the little things. How he smiled, how he played, how he ran around,” he said. “He was running around playing just last week, and now he’s in a casket.”

GOP donor known for racist tweet, American flag outfit dies in attempted murder-suicide

A Republican activist who has been a reliable donor to Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis — despite a racist tweet that put him on the outs with DeSantis’ predecessor, Rick Scott — shot a woman and then himself in the parking lot of a Palm Beach County restaurant, according to sheriff’s deputies.

The activist, 72-year-old Steve Alembik, died. The woman, wounded in the back and arm, survived when she ran into the restaurant bleeding and was rushed to the hospital.

The shooting happened at a Burgerfi outlet in Delray Beach a week ago Monday, although Alembik’s identity wasn’t revealed until last Friday in the Boca Raton News. The wounded victim was believed to be his wife.

Over the past 20 years, Alembik, gave more than $200,000 in political contributions, mainly to Republicans, including thousands of dollars to both DeSantis and Donald Trump. The founder of a Boca Raton digital marketing company, the Democrat-turned-Republican earned notoriety in 2018 by referring to former President Barack Obama as a “f******* Muslim n*****” in a post on the social media platform X, then known as Twitter.

At the time, DeSantis was running to replace Rick Scott as governor. Scott, term-limited out of the governor’s mansion, was vying for the Senate. Both had received contributions.

The tweet, which Alembik later said he regretted, prompted Scott to pass along the $1,100 contribution from Alembik to charity.

The DeSantis campaign and allied political action committees had both received contributions from Alembik. The PAC returned $11,000 but the campaign said $4,000 given separately had been spent in the primary and could not be refunded.

DeSantis, running in the general election against former Tallahassee Mayor

, had ignited a racial controversy a month earlier by urging voters not to “monkey this up,” referring to the possibility of electing Gillum, who is Black.

The DeSantis campaign team denounced the tweet and announced it would take no more money from Alembik in the future.

But his campaigns have continued to accept Alembik contributions. The governor’s re-election campaign and a state political committee supporting that campaign, Friends of Ron DeSantis, together took in more than $5,000 from Alembik in 2021 and 2022, according to state records.

Alembik, who describes DeSantis as one of his “close friends” in a post on LinkedIn, first attracted attention in the wake of Trump’s comments following a 2017 white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia that left a counter-protester dead. After Trump insisted their were “many fine people” on both sides of the issue, mainstream charities pulled events from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club.

Alembik, however, decided to move a charity gala for his newly formed pro-Israel nonprofit group, Truth About Israel, to Mar-a-Lago to help fill the void.

“This president has had Israel’s back like no president has since the days of Ronald Reagan,” Alembik, who sometimes wore a red, white and blue flag costume, told the Washington Post. In total, Alembik has contributed more than $7,500 to committees supporting Trump.

Then-congressman DeSantis was one of the featured speakers at the Mar-a-Lago event.

Alembik worked with a promoter to push ticket sales on Chinese social media platforms by indicating that attendees would have access to the former president. Trump was never going to attend, however, because of the annual Governor’s Ball scheduled that same night. Unaware of that conflict, hundreds of Chinese nationals arrived, hoping to have their photo taken with the president.

The event was glitch prone in other ways. Despite Jewish attendees, the hors d’oeuvres served around the pool contained non-kosher items. There was no seating chart, leading to arguments over the best seats.

When a Herald journalist later approached Alembik to ask about the event, he told the reporter to “step out of this elevator before you get hurt.”

In December 2018, Alembik was arrested by police on a domestic violence charge. The charge was dismissed via pre-trial diversion.

Laura Loomer, a right-wing political activist who has run unsuccessfully for Congress, tweeted: “Sadly, those or us who knew Steve understood that he struggled with his mental health at times.”

The Trump and DeSantis presidential campaigns did not respond to a request for comment.

Meanwhile, we see where a prominent law school professor torpedoes some of his own students.
Turns out, this prominent law school professor is warning law firms to avoid some of his students because they are violent and dangerous.
He condemned students who are anti semitic and advocate the censoring of anyone supporting Israel.
When your own professor turns on you, it's probably time to do some serious self reflection, eh?

Prominent Professor Admits Disturbing Truth (msn.com)

University of California Berkeley law professor Steven Davidoff Solomon has criticized his own students for supporting “antisemitic conduct” on campus.

In an op-ed published in the Wall Street Journal, Solomon stated that if employers do not want to hire individuals who advocate hate and practice discrimination, they should not hire some of his students.

Solomon’s criticism comes in the wake of a national conversation sparked by Harvard Law students being linked to anti-Israel activist groups.

“My students are largely engaged and well-prepared, and I regularly recommend them to legal employers,” Solomon wrote in an op-ed published in the Wall Street Journal Sunday.

“But if you don’t want to hire people who advocate hate and practice discrimination, don’t hire some of my students. Anti-Semitic conduct is nothing new on university campuses, including here at Berkeley.”

Solomon also condemned a student group at Berkeley, Law Students for Justice in Palestine, for advocating a bylaw that banned supporters of Israel from speaking at events.

He called for legal employers to exercise discretion in the hiring process and not hire students who endorse hate or anti-Semitism.

In response, the Assistant Dean of Communications at Berkeley Law stated that faculty members have the right to express their views, but their opinions do not represent the institution.

Hundreds of Harvard faculty members said they were “deeply concerned about the events in the Middle East, as well as the safety of our students here on campus” in the letter to Harvard President Claudine Gay.

“In contrast, while terrorists were still killing Israelis in their homes, 35 Harvard student organizations wrote that they hold ‘the Israeli regime entirely responsible for all unfolding violence,’ with not a single word denouncing the horrific acts by Hamas,” according to the letter.

Its a laughable position for him to try and claim if we can't name the station the killer was listening to then his wife must be lying for some reason. When the obvious question would be why would his wife lie about that? Why would she make something up to tell detectives?

When the other obvious thing is there is no problem at all showing how right wing media and even treasonous conservative/America Hating/Republicans in Congress are fanning the flames of violence against Palestinians in particular and Muslims in general.

The killer was also motivated by specific misinformation that was spreading all over right wing media that the leader of Hamas had called for a global

The man suspected of fatally stabbing 6-year-old Palestinian American boy Wadea Al-Fayoume and wounding his mother, Hanan Shaheen, on Saturday was a regular listener of conservative talk radio — and hosts’ programming on the Hamas attack on Israelis ultimately led him to carry out the horrific attack, prosecutors have said.

Joseph Czuba, 71, made his initial appearance in court in Will County, Illinois, on Monday after he allegedly stabbed Al-Fayoume 26 times; as he appeared in court, mourners held a funeral for the young Muslim boy at a local mosque. Shaheen was not in attendance because she was hospitalized after the attack.

According to prosecutors, Czuba’s wife said that he regularly listens to conservative talk radio and that, in days before the attack, became irritated over the call for a supposed “national day of jihad” on October 13 — a bunk and perhaps purposeful misinterpretation by right-wing figures of a comment made by a former leader of Hamas to Reuters last Wednesday.

Czuba had been listening to right-wing radio coverage of the Hamas attack in the days before the attack, his wife told detectives, and wanted Shaheen to move out. He evidently believed that he was personally endangered by Shaheen’s presence and that Shaheen “was going to call Palestinian friends to come and harm” him and his wife, said Michael Fitzgerald, a Will County assistant state’s attorney, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Even though the unsubstantiated threat of “jihad” — a word broadly meaning “struggle” that has been misinterpreted in the U.S. for decades — never came to pass, Czuba still believed something would happen the next day, his wife said. That Saturday morning, he knocked on Shaheen’s door and began arguing with her about the war in Israel.

Shaheen told investigators that she responded, “let’s pray for peace,” after which Czuba began attacking her with a knife. She locked herself in the bathroom and called 911 and told dispatchers that “the landlord is killing her baby with a knife,” Fitzgerald said.

Al-Fayoume was a playful child who loved Legos, swimming, jumping, and playing games, family members and friends said. He had just turned six a few days before he was killed.

Czuba had no prior criminal convictions, public defender Kylie Blatti said in court. A neighbor said that Czuba had helped to build a treehouse for Al-Fayoume only a few years ago, according to The New York Times.

Muslim and Palestinian advocates have strongly condemned the escalation in Islamophobic rhetoric in the days following the Hamas attack and Israel’s subsequent ethnic cleansing of Gaza, in which Israel has killed over 1,000 children so far. Advocates say that anti-Muslim and anti-Palestinian rhetoric bears responsibility for Al-Fayoume’s killing.

“We welcome the federal hate crime investigation and hope this tragic case will remind public officials and commentators why they must end dehumanizing anti-Muslim, anti-Palestinian bigotry when speaking out about the ongoing violence in the Middle East,” said Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) National Deputy Director Edward Ahmed Mitchell in a statement on Monday.

“Media outlets, political leaders and major corporations have spent more than a week ignoring the suffering of the Palestinian people, justifying war crimes against Palestinians, and spreading inflammatory propaganda and misinformation aimed at Muslims and Palestinians here in America,” Mitchell continued. “This must end. Now.”

The “global day of jihad” rhetoric, for instance, may have played a role in the young boy’s death.

In his Reuters interview, former Hamas leader Khaled Meshal never called for a “global day of jihad,” but the phrase quickly spread across far-right forums and social media networks like X, formerly Twitter. Users referred to Muslim people with racial slurs and told each other to stock up on weapons and ammo.

Prominent conservative figures, including Republican members of Congress, amplified the message. Several Fox News hosts warned about the “day of jihad,” while Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk — who hosts a show that is broadcast on right wing radio stations — said that “we have invited some of the most disgusting people on the planet into the West” and that “we shouldn’t be surprised” if something ad were to happen on the “global day of jihad” on the 13th.

Ultimately, there was no organized global protest or other action that conservatives had spread fear about. But there was at least one incident of violence carried out against a Palestinian-American family, allegedly motivated by the fear mongering.

    Diversion fail.
The question isn't is this vermin's wife lying, the question is did she really say that?
Come on, it shouldn't be hard to tell us which radio show triggered this vermin right?
It is, after all, the whole basis for the hate crime charge.

Or do you want to continue to blather about everything but which radio show?

Cause Shooter is done with the chess thingy.
