Man arrested after opening fire on Black neighbor while shouting racial slurs: Report

A Georgia man is accused of pulling a gun and opening fire on his Black neighbor while shouting racial slurs, The Belleville News-Democrat reported.

According to his indictment, Mark Wheeler, 73, also shot at his neighbor's house. The incident happened in May, but he was indicted this week.

The indictment says that he, “By force and threat of force, willfully injured, intimidated, and interfered with … (the victim)” in violation of his civil rights and the Fair Housing Act.



He was charged with interference with housing and possession of a firearm.

If convicted on both charges, Wheeler could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison and face a $250,000 fine.

A 59-year-old supporter of Donald Trump has been arrested for threats against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat, Atlanta Journal-Constitution reporter Tamar Hallerman posted on social media Monday.

Arthur Ray Hanson II, of Huntsville, Alabama, was indicted for the threatening voicemails sent related to Trump's racketeering case in which he, along with 18 others, were charged in a wide-reaching conspiracy to overthrow the election in Georgia in 2020.

The MAGA supporter has been charged with transmitting interstate threats to injure Willis and Labat, said the reporter.

Hanson left one voicemail threatening: “watch it when you’re going to the car at night, when you’re going into your house, watch everywhere that you’re going" and “when you charge Trump on that fourth indictment, anytime you’re alone, be looking over your shoulder."

According to Hellerman, Willis said that her daughters, her father and her ex-husband were all doxxed online, which is where users on a website share their address and other contact information. The understanding is that someone will use that information to enact violence.

She has spoken out the threats but has remained largely quiet and speaking out primarily about the case and doing her work. The death threats also come with racist undertones in the vitriol, Hallerman reported.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Las Vegas man accused of making “threatening communications” to a United States Senator from Nevada made his first court appearance Friday, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

John Anthony Miller, 43, was accused of threatening to assault, kidnap, or murder an unnamed Nevada U.S. senator “with intent to impede, intimidate, or interfere with the United States senator while engaged in the performance of official duties, or with intent to retaliate against the United States senator on account of the performance of official duties,” according to a criminal complaint.

Between Oct. 11 and Oct. 19, the senator’s office received “numerous” calls and voicemails from a phone number belonging to Miller, an FBI agent wrote in court documents.

On Oct. 17, several voicemails were left at the office of the senator, which included the following statements:

“All these [expletive] lies is in your [expletive] hands, you [expletive] [expletive], and I’m gonna [expletive] see you soon, you [expletive] sellout [expletive] [expletive] [expletive].”

“You just [expletive] woken up a mother[expletive] monster, you [expletive] piece of [expletive] inhuman, subhuman, you’re vermin, [expletive], you are vermin, [expletive], and we’re gonna finish what Hitler started, you [expletive] [expletive].”

“You done picked your side, [expletive], and you done chose evil. I don’t give a [expletive] is you were born into it or not, [expletive], you are [expletive] evil, [expletive], and we’re gonna exterminate you, [expletive].”

On Oct. 18, a man who identified himself as having the last name “Miller” arrived at the Lloyd D. George Courthouse in downtown Las vegas and said he was going to see the unnamed U.S. senator, the complaint stated. When he was denied entry to the courthouse, he “became agitated” and began yelling profanities, including “Let’s kill every last Israeli terror-[expletive]-rist.”

On Oct. 19, more voicemails were left at the office of the senator. In one voicemail, the caller said he “wanted uh-uh know if-if my senator had any family members that Israeli settlers
because if she did, I’m pre- I’m pretty sure she would, she would uh not make it illegal
for these savage Israeli settlers to come back.”

Later in the voicemail, the caller said “Senator I’m sorry to say, but ya know what, you’re a piece of [expletive] and you’re gonna burn in [expletive] [expletive] for your [expletive] crimes.”

T-Mobile subscriber records showed the phone number used to make the threats was registered to John Miller, documents said. Miller also listed the number as his contact number in two prior 9-1-1 calls.

Miller was arrested on Oct. 26, according to the DOJ. He was charged with one count of threatening a federal official. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Nov. 13.

The senator who received the threats is Senator Jacky Rosen, who is Jewish.

“Threats against public officials should be taken seriously. Senator Rosen trusts the U.S. Attorney’s office and federal law enforcement to handle this matter,” said a spokesperson for Senator Rosen.

'Live inside of you': Man accused of threat to flay senator and use skin 'like clothes'

An Alaska man threatened to kill a U.S. senator, strip their skin off their body and wear it as clothes, according to prosecutors who charged him this week

Fox News reported that Arther Graham, 46, is accused of sending the threatening message to the unidentified senator in September.

Graham said in the message that he was facing eviction and had nowhere to go, prosecutors said. He signed the message with his real name, his phone number and address.



"I'm in the dark here. Until I get new information [United States Senator 1], my plan is ima' hunt you down, cut the flesh off your body and wear your skin like clothes. I'll live inside of YOU. I may as well because I ain't got nowhere else to live," Graham said, according to Fox News.

The senator immediately reported the threat to the U.S. Capitol Police. When agents visited Graham at his home, he reportedly confessed to having sent the message, according to the report.

He was charged with using interstate communications with a threat to kidnap and injure. He faces up to five years in prison.
